Finally visited the newly reopened Title Boxing Club in Forest Hills, and it looks great. They reopened in January after a long renovation. When you walk in, there is a reception area with benches and cubbies, with new bathrooms (including showers). From there you head into the main workout space, which includes about 30 heavy Smart bags, a full workout area with weights and treadmills, and a boxing ring. I took a 60-minute class and it was both great and challenging. The format included about an 8-minute warmup, ten boxing rounds, and finished with abs and stretching. The instructor was excellent, high energy, motivating, and consistently encouraging proper form. I look forward to going back. Highly recommend if you are looking for a tough, fun, and well-structured boxing workout. read more

I loved their classes, especially kickboxing, the instructors were terrific, and the gym well-maintained. I haven't found another boxing gym that worked for me or where I felt comfortable, so I was happy to recently learn that Title now offers class packages. Of course I purchased one and have been back at it. The gym is in the process of moving (or being renovated) so they have a makeshift location. I signed up for a session at TITLE on the ClassPass app. When I showed up, I found out that they don't actually provide boxing gloves, so that was a bit of a disappointment. I didn't think it was worth buying gloves, since I was just going for the one class, but I ended up participating anyway. The class itself was fun and it was interesting trying out a different type of workout. I will say I think I break more of a sweat with a spin/other more aerobic type class. This was more focused on form and technique, and it seemed like a lot of the people at the class were regulars. Overall, it was cool trying something new, but I wouldn't necessarily recommend unless it's something you're going to invest in for the long term, especially given you'll need to purchase your own gloves. read more

I came to a class in the evening. I am not a big fan of high impact cardio but I am glad I stepped out of my comfort zone. While this was more of an independently run class. The instructor Alan did show you the moves and gave you the space to find your footing and pace . He did walk around and corrected your positioning which was appreciated. The music was great and kept energy up as I was panting. After the good sweat session I walked home and I sure did begin to fill the soreness. While this isn't going to my everyday routine I will like to incorporate at least one class a week in addition to my other routine. read more

I have been a member here for about 3 months now and I do really enjoy the workouts. I have boxed before and have taken boxing/kickboxing classes at different facilities over the years. I did CrossFit for years prior to joining Title and am also a member at NYSC. I came to Title looking to change up my workouts a bit an add some more cardio to supplement some of the heavy lifting/ weight training that I usually do. Pro: 1.The workouts are well programmed and have different intensities based on the class instructor. 2. Some instructors will pull you from the bag and work with you with pads for a little bit of time depending on the size of the class. 3. Facility is always super clean and organized. Bathrooms/ changing areas are always spotless. 4. The workouts are a great way to alleviate stress ! 5. The staff is super friendly and Ty/ Hegson at the front desk are super welcoming. Instructors do go around and correct form and provide tips as needed. Con: 1. The instructors sometimes lose control of the class. In the classes that I usually take there are consistently disruptive people who chat and engage in conversation with the instructors. It is frustrating and extremely distracting. The instructors do nothing to stop it. 2. First "free class" really isn't free unless you sign up for a membership. Memberships are a bit pricey and money is due upfront. I joined on a summer special for 3 months, but I wish they offered some type of new member pricing. I am ending my membership due to an old rotator cuff injury that has been exacerbated by boxing. I have been going here since 2014. I take classes 5/6 times a week. It is the only workout (gym membership) I've been able to enjoy and actually stick to consistently. The training team is amazing you can learn something from each one of them they are all so different and talented. It's a friendly enviornment and clean space to work out. My very good friend invited me here to join for a boxing class in the evening on a Friday. I had not done any sort of group class in a loooooong time, but generally always love group fitness classes or really any group class where I'm learning something new. So I was down, and off we went. This was amazing, the team set me up, wrapped my hands, gloved me up and before I knew it felt like Rocky bouncing around from bag to bag. Classes are always more fun with friends, but this was something I knew I could do solo daily because of the overall head to toe workout you get. Also, it was hard! It's not just physical but also mental when you try to hit the right sequence. I loved every minute of it. If you're ever in the area, try it, not just because the staff is kind and lovely, but also because they make you feel like you belong. I had to cancel my membership here due to lifestyle changes and can only use classpass. However, this place is awesome! The staff, all of them, including the owner, really listens, if you move, have billing issues, forgot how to wrap your hands, being attentive to how you punch, kick, squat etc. I thought this must've been a title club standard. So I went to another title club in manhattan with my classpass and it was nothing like title forest hills. It made me realize how much the staff here really want you to do well. They push you to do your best! They correct how you stand. Boxing isn't just standing around and punch a bag,... seriously you gonna stand there stiff while you take a punch in real life, I don't think so. You should be moving with your legs. And they really emphasize on moving around the bag (unlike other title). They're prompt on class time, follows when the bell rings and have a variety of classes other than boxing. I've also been to rumble. Don't go to rumble. Take the train, if you don't live around here, and experience title at Fh yourself. read more

If you are even thinking about joining Title, just do it, you won't regret it!! I feel like I can't say enough good things about this place. For starters, IT'S CLEAN! I love knowing that, even though people go here to sweat their hearts out, the place is clean (and more importantly, doesn't have that gym stank). The front desk staff is always friendly and helpful. I love seeing the owner, Danny, at the club. He just has this amazing vibe to him. He's kind, energetic, knows his stuff and genuinely seems to care about his trainers and clients alike. If you see a class with him, take it, the time will fly!! For the most part, I would say the trainers are all awesome. Of course, like anyone else, I have my favorites! First and foremost, Moses is AMAZING!! He is a stickler for technique, but that's what makes you better and gets you a better workout!! I swear, when I take classes with other trainers, I can hear Moses- Moses is the best not only for technique, but he moves around the gym throughout the entire class and makes sure that he sees every single person and gives them pointers/encouragement. He really gets to know the people that take his classes and isn't afraid to call you out (or ask what's up) if you are slacking-which I love. I would highly suggest taking a class with Moses if you're looking to try it out OR if you've just started with Title and need some basics. He is the best at this and will set you up to succeed. When my schedule changed I found Crystal, omg. Wow! I am SO happy that I found her! Crystal likes to change up her classes so you don't feel like you're getting into a rut. Most recently she started doing TRX-holy soreness (in a good way!). I love that she mixes it up and challenges you with long combos. Crystal helps you if you need it and goes around the class a lot to give pointers. I don't know what it is, but I just love her style, she incorporates different techniques and pushes you to finish your workout. Rock is super mellow. He's a great trainer, but very soft spoken. Once I got used to his style, I was super excited to take his classes. He really knows his stuff and you can see it when he's showing you the combo for the round. His combos are challenging but manageable and he doesn't let you sit for too long on one combo-he likes to change it up. Last but not least, Adrian. I'll be honest, at first, I wasn't a fan. His workouts were REALLY challenging. Like, for your average gym goer, I felt that they were above and beyond what I (or anyone else) could do. Think of things around the spectrum of superhuman strength. The trainers are all superhuman, but I am not...yet. So, I took a break from him for a while-about a year-and I came back to his class. I'm happy to report that Adrian's workouts are challenging but achievable!!! I feel much better taking his class now and I get a great workout!! Hands down, I recommend Title! Another one of these gyms where they gauge you at the end. I signed up for 6 months. After 6 months I informed the club that I would no longer be a member. Now, they send some half baked collections agency after me claiming I owe the an extra $160 even though I sent them written notice I was not extending my contract. But now if I do not pay them they will try and ruin my credit. There is a word for that....EXTORTION. Do not fall for this place. They will rip you off. UPDATE: So the club calls me and tells me they never received my letter AND that members have to come in on and fill out a member termination form which IS NOT IN THE CONTRACT. The guy then calls me "rude" for yelling at him because he clearly has never read the contract before...and because I called them a bunch of "assholes." But...I mean....c'mon! When you treat customers like this...expect to be called some names. Also...grow the hell up! I can't believe I offended the delicate sensibilities of someone who works at a boxing club! Fine. I got tired of my old routine at the gym and I wanted something different with some type of structure and access to professionals without draining my pocket. I am so happy and blessed to have found title boxing club in forest hills. What really sold me was the customer service. From Danny, Ty, Veronica and wait, actually everyone there. Being a newbie can be a little nerve racking but they made me feel at home. I've only been coming for a couple days and its a true testament to the type of people they have here, when most of them know your name and just little things about you. Excellent customer service, I'm very happy to be a member. Their service makes people like me loyal and keep coming back. Oh yeah and the workouts are insane. I got more out of one workout in one night than a couple days in my regular gym. Especially since I'm not a professional trainer in anything, it's really great how you have these trainers surrounding you at all times and giving you real time feedback. I love boxing and kickboxing classes so I had to try out Title. I've been to this and the (now shuttered?) midtown location a couple of times and class structure-wise, they're fairly similar. The studio at the Austin location looks like it received a much needed upgrade, so kudos for that. The classes are intense, fun, and challenging. The instructors are very high energy and will occasionally walk through the class to give us pointers. The one downside about these types of classes is that it's sometimes difficult to see and hear the instructors. They're usually located toward the middle of the class, so there's a bunch of punching bags in the way. I usually found myself making up some of the moves to fill in the gaps of where I couldn't see/hear the instructor. This is not a boutique studio like Rumble (or Everybody Fights/SBX which I think have closed in the last 2 years) but since their upgrade, their bathrooms are nicer and overall aesthetic is better, if that matters to you. I would recommend Title's classes for anyone who's looking for a challenging but not impossible workout. read more

I've waited a few weeks to properly review this location, and I've come to the conclusion it meets all I've wanted. I've been a member of gyms but none of them have ever pushed me beyond like at Title. I was immensely jealous that my husband and son were getting these great workouts at Title, which convinced me that I needed to try this place out. I really appreciate how cautious and SAFE this gym has been especially during these times. I've been a member since the the beginning of this year. I came from ClassPass. I exhausted the amount of times that ClassPass allowed me to attend the studio because I loved it so much! I ended up cancelling my ClassPass membership to join this gym. Conveniently located near other gyms along the Austin Street strip, TBC offers beginner, mid-level and rigorous workouts to compliment your weekly sessions at the gym. The place is very clean. Kid friendly, but ask about available hours and levels to meet your needs and levels of experience. If you have an injury and are just getting back into your fitness regimen, as your doctor first. I have been coming to Title for about 10 months, and I absolutely love this gym! I never boxed before, so it took some practice to get my form right, in addition it is an intense workout, so pace yourself the first few times. That said, you will see results very quickly, not only in terms of the way your body will get toned, but also your overall stress level will decrease, and you'll feel confident and healthy!! This facility is very well managed; it is clean and well stocked with tons of work out equipment. Danny the General Manager sends weekly informational updates by email and as such members are kept up to date and well informed. The front desk staff are friendly and welcoming, and the trainers are amazing! A few of my favorite trainers are Adrian, Crystal, Damond, Danny and Veronica. They are very tough, and very demanding, they will push you to your limit and then some, but they are so encouraging and motivational. Adrian has an awesome "throw back Thursday" playlist that I just love in the 7:15 a.m class! I took Veronica's class for the first time today - she rocks!!Moses is also good and focuses relentlessly on form, but he will pick on you if you don't get it right so be warned! I just did a kickboxing class with Ben who is really terrific as well. Okay, I have heard some people say that Title is expensive, but I say it is totally worth it! I've been at Title for less than a year and you might think I'm being overly dramatic but it's probably one of the best decisions I've ever made for both my physical and mental health. I've always struggled with my weight since I was a kid and this place motivates me to sweat hard so I can look and feel my best. I really loved the gym. When I signed up the manager (black guy) was very friendly ; however , after I signed the papers and paid he became a hostile person , but I didn't mind I loved the gym. I took a few classes with the owner who is an amazing person and Justin who taught me a lot about boxing. Even tho the manager has issues I kept going. One day my payment didn't go through and they called my job to collect my monthly payment . This really pissed me off and I called the gym and the manager was extremely disrespectful , yet I told myself to let this slide . The next month came and again my payment didn't go through and yes again they called my job. I called the gym to inform them that calling my work place was not the right thing to do and the manager screaming told me if I can't afford the gym I should stop coming. His comment was offensive who is this guy to say such a thing !! I was anger the owner spoke to me and he made things right. The manager was suppose to apologize but he never did. Today I go for a workout since I have asthma I took my mask out for a second and I was already being harassed. I ignored the issue and continued with my work out. I was using a ball to workout and after I was done i went to use the treadmill when the manager Approaches and in a high voice tells me "hey yo which ball you used " I tell him the small one at this point he literally aggressively forces me to show him the ball. I was angry I told him I have a name it's not hey yo. That guy is such a douche bag he's in the wrong business in the end I decided to cancel my membership... the sad part was that his own staff dislike him and they encouraged me to report him ....okay so after the manager kicks me out for having asthma he tells me that he will reimburse the money I have left on my account. I call a month later to tell him I haven't gotten the money he tells me he won't return my money because I was racist with him for writing a Yelp review. I consider myself a boxing super fan, both as a viewer and a student of the fight game. I'd learned boxing previously at Mendez Boxing Gym in the city but when my work situation changed, I didn't want to have to go into the city to get my boxing fix. I also wanted to box more than the once a week I'd done with a trainer. Enter Title Boxing Forest Hills. I came into it with an open mind as I wasn't used to boxing in a class setting (there are definitely boxing snobs out there). So I took classes on ClassPass before committing to a full membership last May 2018. From jump, the experience has been amazing-- from the onboarding with Darlene and Danny, to my initial morning classes with Moses, Adrian and Rock (and later, Justin, Damond, and Clement) to the warm greetings from Ty, Jai, Hegs and Adham. Every trainer has their unique style and I've been able to take bits and pieces from each one of them. All of them are LEGIT AF. Seriously, these ain't no "do it for the gram" trainers. As I've progressed I continue to take classes, I just add my little flair to instructor combos and then practice technique on my own. I've also more recently done personal training with Justin and I couldn't be happier. I've been pushed to new limits, learning new boxing skills while improving on my existing ones, and have gained a fresh perspective on fight sports as a whole. On other notes: The gym is a good size and the facilities are super clean. As an introvert who'd always worked out by myself or with just one trainer, I've unexpectedly made new friends in the process. A nice bonus to an already great experience. So for those of you like me who happen to fall into the "love boxing but not trying to be a fighter" category, I assure you it's worth it. I've always had a love/hate relationship with working out. Once I got married and quit the gym for just a few months, the newlywed 15 hit my thighs with a good dose of a reality check. Forest Hills is an area with nearly as many fitness centers per block as there are coffeeshops, but I came to Title because I wanted something a little more intense and physically interesting than treadmills and hot yoga. Most of the gym is dedicated to their namesake sport, with a large area of hanging bags and a small ring. The outer perimeter houses more traditional gym equipment like weights, treadmills, and exercise balls. These areas are fairly populated by folks who are looking to get a quick workout, but the classes are the real draw at Title. I'm convinced that the instructors at Title are simply repressed sadists because their workouts get every muscle in your body screaming. I agree wholeheartedly with the Yelper who claimed this is the place where fat comes to die (and I would add, the rest of you too). Most of the sessions are an hour long, which consists of a 15 minute conditioning and warm up, half an hour of bag rounds, and a final 15 for ab and core exercises. The online schedule conveniently displays all of the classes for the week, including length, session type (boxing, kickboxing, etc.), and instructor. By now, I've cycled through enough of the classes to get a feel for most of the instructors' teaching style. While they're all guaranteed to work up a sweaty downpour, beginners will love Clement's clear, precise, no-nonsense instruction. Brandon is another favorite of mine, who regularly circles the mat and checks and/or corrects your form when necessary. Other instructors like Joe assume a level of skill and familiarity and rapidly introduce complex combos that are a little tough to follow as a newcomer but a lot of fun for regular boxers who already know the fundamentals. Bring your own gloves and hand wraps if you have them, but there is a small store on site that sells reputable Title gear if you don't. There are no two ways about it - boxing classes at Title will demand every ounce of strength from your fatigued muscles and the first few classes will be tough. But choose to take the long haul approach to fitness and appreciate the gradual gains. I've only been going for a few classes now but I can already feel the small differences - stairs, big bags of groceries, and occasional jogs are becoming easier every day. read more

This right here is my new HIGH!!! No Joke! Ever since they opened up it's like I have a new lease on life. It's somewhere I can unleash my anger and frustration. and I LOVE IT! I had taken KickBoxing before at one of those I Love Kickboxing venues and I will say I was not stoked with them. Their attitudes and behavior when you told them you could afford their over priced packages after you finished your group on was less to be desired. They went from helping you out to basically not giving a crap.. Then when you tried to sign up for your next class you had to wait 2 to 3 weeks. What is THAT!! I wanna work out not sit around... Gesh! Title's owner Danny, who is patient, kind, and a bit of a jokester and I always have a decent conversation! The workers ( Alex and Jay ) and his Trainers ( Jon and Morgan) are top notch and outstanding! Very knowledgeable as well! The Power Hour consist of a heavy warm up, 8 Rounds with 1 minute resets in between, to a 15 minute Ab Routine that kills the session!! In this session you can burn anywhere from 600 - 900 cals. Depending on your intensity level.. I like to go hard or go home. I aint gunna lie, I do find myself sometimes cowering behind my bag to take a breather. But I get back to it with my jab, hook, upper cut upper cut... I truly enjoy this work out beyond belief! If you get a chance to check this place out I highly recommend going for your "First Shot"! I think Title Boxing is really awesome. I've been going for about two months now. I used to be totally fat and working out here has made such a huge difference that I no longer need to use a Rascal Scooter to get around. The staff are really friendly and helpful and the workouts are really fun. I think it's well worth the membership price. Are you that person that needs a hard push when you work out? Are you that person that stops working out when the trainer turns his back on you? And then he finds out you've rested a little too long and he makes you do 10 more push-ups? Do you want to feel great after doing those push-ups? Ok then this might be the place for you (just got to stop resting so much and keep effin' going). The classes are a good one hour workout and you definitely feel it within the first 15 mins of the warm up. The instructors push you through the class with different combinations and ultimately end with 15 mins of ab work. I definitely see the change in tone in my arms and upper back. My favorite instructor is Damond. He makes sure you move around the bag, makes sure you know your distance around the bag, and you cannot start punching before the bell rings. He makes sure you breathe. Sometimes you need that discipline. He also treats the bag as if it were a body, so instead hearing a "jab-jab-hook", he says something like "jab to the nose, jab to the chest, hook to the body" so that you can imagine something close to that real sparring experience. The club also has some gym equipment like treadmills, ellipticals, dumbbells, cable crossover machine, squat rack, etc. which is great for when I don't feel like doing a boxing class and lift instead -- and it's not crazy crowded. I guess the only things I don't like is that their mats are starting to smell pretty gross (or you can just ask for a towel) and that they don't have soap/shampoo in their showers. read more

Came here to try out a class at the urging of my wife. I thought that I would simply go to support her interest in this class. By the end of it, I ended up signing up for a 9 month membership and paying for the cost up front. This place is awesome. When I first got there, Hegson helped get us set up with our wraps and quick overview. The first class I took was led by the club owner, Danny and the second time by Adrian. Both instructors were very helpful throughout the course as they walk throughout the class to make sure that we were doing all the moves properly. They were also really encouraging during and after the course. I loved the supportive and friendly environment here. I was intimidated to take a boxing class as I've never done it before. This isn't a traditional boxing class though as you're not going to spar with a partner but rather hit heavy bags. The class was extremely diverse also with kids as young as 8, people who seem to have done boxing previously to people new to the sport. I felt really comfortable in this class as a first timer. I look forward to going to my next class. I highly recommend this class if you're looking for something fun and to sweat. read more

I truly hate working out but I know it's medicine for the body and as you get older it takes a whole lot to lose a 1lb. I've tried other gyms and even worked out at home but I wanted a change so I looked for a boxing gym which would not only help me with losing weight but also help release frustration. I suffer from back and knee issues in addition to muscle tension headaches so I figure I can take it out on a heavy bag. My first experience with Title wasn't great at all. I was told to arrive 30 minutes before my first session this way they can explain the gym, membership and you can even speak with the instructor which was great since I needed exercise modifications. Unfortunately that didn't happen and my two friends and I started class after sitting around for 30 minutes. It was an intense 60 minute class but we got through it, I wanted to crawl out of there but I enjoyed it, the instructor DaMond was pretty intense, he reminded me of Clubber Lang from Rocky 3, not physically but his voice and his intensity. My friends asked me if I wanted to join Title and I said no I don't think I want too, I have some concerns about the initial process. When things turned around- I figured I would call and speak to a manager which I did the next day. I spoke with Danny who is the GM and he is such a wonderful person, he heard me out and asked that I try it again. He wanted to show me how the initial process should be. I decided to go back and what a complete difference. Danny gave me a tour of the gym and I was able to explain some of my concerns. I can tell you after my meeting with him and my second class I was ready to sign up immediately. He introduced me to Brandon, who is AMAZING. That was the end of July and it now September I can truly say I love going to the gym, I make sure I go at least 3 times a week. I loved Jon Sherman's class but he is now AM of another gym in Boston, truly excited for him. I am no longer afraid of DaMond's class aka Clubber Lang. He is actually very sweet once I spoke with him and I look forward to his class on Wednesdays, he is truly motivating. All of the instructors are great, Moses, Brandon, Adrian, Crystal and Rock. I have yet to take kick boxing, I am not ready for it yet. If you are looking for something different and fun then Title is the place to go. It feels good to walk in a gym and they call you by name, it's like the show Cheers but without the beer. I met some great members and I look forward to seeing them in my class, we really motivate each other. I am now able to plank which I couldn't do before so I know my dedication is paying off. Danny's playlist is the best, it makes me feel like I am in the ring and I am ready to go 10 rounds but in reality I'm not. It would be nice if the gym could take some song requests, that would be a great addition. I only have one con which is the floor mats, definitely needs an upgrade. I recommend this place 100%. Not only are the classes amazing but the place is a fully equipped gym as well, so when I am not taking a class I can go work out. It's the best of both worlds. I most often take class with Crystal on weekday mornings. Not only is she a fantastic teacher but she has wide ranging education that she brings into play during class, whether it's basic biomechanics and proper form or yoga poses to enhance core strength, classes are always different and always well planned. She works us hard but she also works us smart. At 55 years old, I am better conditioned and more comfortable in my body than I have been since my 30s. I have also dropped 25 pounds in 6 months. Last thing I will say is that I came in, as I said, 25 pounds heavier and pretty de-conditioned. I never had a single self-conscious or uncomfortable moment. The boxing bags keep things pretty private and I was surrounded by all different types of people, from athletes to moms, to people who have not had a lot of experience inside a gym. When I first joined I felt a little overwhelmed. The thing about title is you need to find the instructor you like. The one who explains every little move, especially if your new. As time goes on you will become more experienced. The facility is very clean and well maintained. Friendly staff. Clement chu, Jon Sherman are my favorite. Moses is excellent, only took his class once. It's a little pricey for the month, however it's a guaranteed productive work out. So many different class times. So it's a win win :) read more

I seriously LOVE this place!! It's really fun and I'm so addicted!!! I started coming to Title when it first opened up back in May and I have to say it's the best decision I ever made. I started doing their power hour workouts and let me tell you that those classes kicked my butt!! They are crazy intense and every trainer has their own style which is great because you are never bored. I've always been a very active person but after I had my daughter 2 years ago, my body completely changed!! I gained 30lbs during my pregnancy and I felt so tired and out of shape. I needed to get my butt back into the gym and get back to being me again. The classes really helped me to start losing weight while letting me get my anger and frustrations out on the bag! I've taken classes with 5 different trainers and many go out of their way to help you out with your technique or just push you harder. Now I know why I started to so many regulars like me going 5 times a week! When I wanted to push myself further and get to an athletic level, I started personal training with Alex. He's tough and no joke when it comes to training. He's intense, focused and very knowledgable. I'm ALWAYS sore afterwards!! Since training with him I've lost 18lbs!! I'm in better shape now then I was BEFORE I had my kid! What I love most about this place is that it's a really cool environment with really nice people. The trainers and staff are always encouraging and very inspiring. No one is judging you and your surrounded by people who just want you to be the best version of yourself. I have been a member for about 5 months and I have seen amazing improvements to my health, general feeling of wellbeing, and how I actually look! Also, the staff is friendly and professional. And the classes are fun. I usually don't like gyms, but this one I love! Classes are fun, challenging and a little bit edgy if you want something extra. It's been several months since going consistently about 3-4 times sometimes 5 days a week. To be honest I've never been more in shape than ever , the staff is super friendly, and clean! Each of the trainers have different styles of teaching, so you can try all your hearts content. All sorts of people at different levels come to classes so there's nothing to be intimidated. Classes are fun, you will leave tired, BUT the feeling of accomplishment is such a high. Title Boxing is awesome! I've been going for the past two months and I've really seen a change in my body and the amount of energy I have. The staff is super friendly and the trainers are great.
