We love this place! This location just opened a few months ago in our area. We have been coming to full moon for years now, and we're so glad to get one a bit closer to home. In past years we have always traveled to the 280 location, or the Hoover location, but the Trussville location beats them all! This place has always been so consistent with delicious food. This particular location is so clean and almost all of the workers we have ever dealt with have always been nothing but kind and will go out of there way to get you what you need to have a nice visit. Now as for the food, my favorite is the 3 veggie plate! All of there sides are delicious, especially the Mac n cheese! The pulled turkey sandwich is also a hit with us! The "love me tenders" are also good as so the BBQ is amazing!! Try dipping it in there honey mustard, i crave that stuff! They are mostly about quantity and quality or flavor. This is my second time trying them and it's my last. The first time we ate here my order was completely messed up and after two times of trying to fix it I just gave up. We ordered pick up this time and even though they wrote down exactly what we ordered, the person filling the orders managed to miss an entire plate. Bought a BBQ Pork Nacho plate and they forgot my queso & bbq sauce! Someone explain how I'm supposed to eat dry a$$ pork nachos? They put my nachos, I'm sorry CHIPS in a bin by themselves and had ALL the sides in smaller separate containers. Why? idk. I just left this one in Trussville. I went through the drive through and I place my order at 6:22 per my receipt. I was asked to pull to the sign under the one. All I ordered was a turkey sandwich and okra. I did not get my order until 6:44. Not only did it take for lever but my food was cold. Also my sandwich was small. At 7:30 on a Saturday night the line was full, but the wait and pickup was maybe 15-20 minutes. The wait was "worth it" !!! My favorite trimming is their baked beans; my least favorite, so far, is their potato salad (which tastes packaged). I tried their fried green tomatoes today and liked them (even though I was dipping in the ranch-style sauce it came with). My biggest disappointment was the half chicken I ordered. I didn't eat a third of it because of the amount of skin and gristle attached. However, it had a smoky flavor and the meat was succulent. read more

I got their "loaded" baked potato today. I put loaded in parentheses because there was very little bacon bits, scallions or sour cream. The potato was hard and lukewarm at best. Stopped in at the Trussville location and ordered burgers. I had never had a burger at Full Moon. Please stay with the pulled pork as far as sandwiches are concerned. The burgers were hot but, not very tasty at all. I would not recommend the burgers. I also ordered onion rings and they were oversized and overcooked. I live in Pinson and I have a bbq restaurant 4 minutes from my home but instead chose to drive almost 20 minutes to the full moon. We were very pleased with our last visit there and my son was really looking forward to his moon cookie with his kids meal. I ordered before I left home to make sure it would be ready when I arrived or at least close. My order was a pulled pork sandwich and grilled chicken kids meal. I have 2 small children so I went through the drive through. From the time I placed my order to the time I got my food was over an hour. By this time I had a screaming baby in my backseat and a very hungry toddler. I waited very long in the drive thru line then an additional 30 minutes at the curb while all the cars behind me got their food and left. When I finally got home I realized my sandwich did not have bbq sauce (I requested it on the side). It was too dry to even eat. and my sons meal did not have a cookie . That was the main reason we went there. We will not be back here. This restaurant can not handle business at all and it's very sad because it's pretty good food. read more

Terrible Service/ incompetent employees I didn't get all of my order, had to go back through long drive thru line. An employee going outside for a smoke break noticed I was back in line and asked me was I back again. I told him I didn't get my dozen cookies. He told me to pull out of the line and park out front and he would have someone bring them to me. No one ever came, I was parked by the front doors. I finally flagged down another employee and she went back in to get my cookies and brought them out to me, telling me she gave me double for my wait. I ended up with 8 cookies and I paid for a dozen. Maybe I am just accustomed to the amazing customer service at the fultondale store. Order 2 pork plate with veggie of the day and fried green tomatoes. Food came out decently fast but no freid green tomatoes. The girl that brought out food said she would bring them when done. We are waiting almost done with our meal. So I go back to the counter to ask about the missing food. Out of the 6 employees at the counter one actual handles the problem. The manager on the other hand is sitting to a table watching tv the whole time we are at the store and not once did he get off his ass to check on the issue or apologize. He let his one employee that still cares handle it. If that is management at this location I give it a year before it closes. read more

Yesterday I ordered through take out window. I asked for rib sandwich and quarter white chicken with sauce on the side. The ribs were left over from the previous day and had sauce on them. Left over ribs have an aftertaste. Not only that; when you spread fluids on wood to start fire you should allow the substance to burn off before placing meat on the pit. If not the meat tastes like the fluid. Three times now I have ordered ribs and they have been horrible. The cashier was not knowledgeable about prices as she gave me a total of $19 plus for this order. Two separate prices were listed on ticket for the chicken . The food is delicious & service is great. BUT, I observed several people placing orders on the inside without mask, although the front doors clearly state mask are required. I just assumed the young cashier didn't know how to ask them to go get one. I also realize that people eating in have to remove their mask to eat in their designated area but mask should be worn while ordering and leisurely walking about the restaurant....With numbers rising everyone should do their due diligence to insure the numbers go down. This is by far, the worst Full Moon location. The restaurant is filthy and the food is horrible. Consistently horrible. The ribs are old and tough and burnt. The mac n cheese is watery and disgusting. The pulled pork tastes old and burned as well. And the kitchen staff is sloooooooow. And there's never been a time where my order wasn't wrong. My boyfriend and I went on a Friday night so it was a bit crowded as expected. We both ordered the bbq nachos with an extra side of queso. The wait was only about 15 minutes which was not that bad considering how crowded they were. The nachos were good, but my only complaint was the extra queso we ordered came out cold. I had the smoked dark chicken plate with greens and fried green tomatoes. The chicken had so much flavor. The fried green tomatoes were perfectly seasoned. Although the food is delicious, the service is very slow. We've been here twice in a month and had a terrible experience both times. The first time the drive thru was closed, so my husband went inside to order 2 sides to go along with a meal we were taking to some friends. The restaurant was not busy (only a few cars in the parking lot) and it took over 30 minutes. We only got 2 side orders- no bbq. Today, we went through the drive thru and ordered 2 whole pies and 1/2 dozen cookies. The woman working the register checked and said they had both pies. We waited in the line, got to the window and and paid, and was asked to pull into a parking spot where we continued to wait (she said they were piping whipped cream on one pie). 30 minutes after placing the order my husband went in to check and see where our pies/cookies were. Both times the significant delay has caused us to be late to our next engagement. Bad pickup experience on 10/8/2020. Called restaurant at 3PM. Put on hold for 5 minutes. Gave up and called back. No hold this time. Ordered value meal and iced tea. Went into drive through. Value meal incomplete (no cookies). Didn't bring tea. Asked for tea and brought wrong size. Finally got order right. No smiles, apologies, or thank you s from staff. I'm sorry to say this, because we were so excited to see Full Moon coming to Trussville, but this location is really not good, we have picked up food from there 5 times and every time they have left food out of our bag. We always have to park and go in to get what they missed. Today was the worst though. The pork barbecue meat was so full of fat that it was inedible and the fries were mostly hard ends cooked to long.
