Going to the local record store once a week was part of growing up in the 70's. Picking up the latest lp, 8-track or cassette was a must for anyone that had plans of cruising the handful of streets in our small town during the weekend. I once had the pleasure of addressing Carlos Santana a number of years back at the Cesar Chavez Center at UCLA and all I could think of saying was: "thanks for the music, picking up the girls would have never been possible without your music"! I've only been into collecting and listening to vinyl for about a year now. I've been pretty limited to thrift shops and antique shops to feed my addiction. I always have to travel to LA to find any good record shops. I didn't even know this place existed until I randomly googled for record shops in my area. This place had exactly what I was looking for! And I even got a deal! Definitely will return to this place! read more

I normally would never write a review for anywhere but this place just set off too many alarms for me. This store has some really sick and rare records; however when I went in an hour before the store closed and tried asking the owner about some of the records I was only met with rudeness and an eagerness for me to get out so he could close up shop early or something. As rad as the collection they have is, many of the records I had seen elsewhere were almost all marked up an additional $10 and in the same or worse condition. The owner also gladly boasts that they sell bootlegs and other records not meant to be sold and while it's cool seeing these albums you would never see on vinyl otherwise, there were many other albums that you can still find in many other record stores that were also bootlegged and upon figuring this out it quickly became very hard not to question to the integrity of all the records they had to offer. If you're looking for a shop that has almost every record you could want and don't care about the service, price, or quality of the records this place is for you, however if you value any of these I would take your money elsewhere. read more

This. Place. Rules! Wayne (The Boss) is a laid back record store owner that's got an impressive and fairly priced selection. Upon my first visit, Wayne made me feel right at home and doesn't give you that "Buy something and get out!" vibe. I've been hard pressed to ever leave empty handed or simply stay for 10 minutes. Albums on cassette? Check! Blank, unopened cassettes? Check! 8 tracks? Check! CD's? Check! Vinyl from The Beach Boys, Black Sabbath, The Beatles, (Jeff) Beck etc? Check! Had some of the vinyl's I was looking for. Everywhere else looks at you funny when you ask if they have records. Only thing I suggest about this place is just ask them to play before you buy because there is no returns even if it there's a gnarly scratch and you don't notice it till you get home. read more
