We scheduled our appointment here for our baby's first passport. My husband and I also got passport photos taken here. It took less than 3 weeks to receive them all. The staff was very helpful making sure we had all the paperwork ready to mail. They also have back up printed copies of forms incase you made a mistake. Another plus, they have a lot of state park pass available at this location. If you're lucky, it will automatically renew for another two weeks. read more

This library has great parking and a cafe all inside this library. I tried the pho and iced coffee and grabbed some snackies. There shelves are stocked and have all kinds of various options. From sandwiches to hot meals to ice cream. I like that it is convenient inside while studying at the library. The cafe does close at 3pm so get all your snackies before they close. I love it! The library is clean and lots of space and outlets. The tables are wide to lay out your books and study material. Great place to study ! read more

This library is really nice! It's quiet, clean and they recently hosted a talk on growing roses with a master grower. I got a library card from here and I was asked to choose between 3 designs, 2 of them being Snoopy themed and one of them with Yoda! This is the first library card where I got to choose a cool theme for it!. Parking is fairly easy and they have a book drop off out front. Definitely a place with a lot of resources and a lot of books. read more

Great library. The graphic novel section is good (but couldn't be great unless they just had more). There's usually a desk you can take to sit at, though the wi-fi can be spotty. Some of the homeless people hang out in the tables in the back. They have a number of events, especially on weekends. Even when I remember to not go there on Monday because they're closed, it's been irritating lately when they don't open until 2:30 pm because of a remodel, but hopefully they'll be even better when they're back full-time. Not sure about the price of those CDs, though (they sell each for less than a penny?). read more

The Fullerton Public Library is wonderful (as are most libraries). Programming is excellent as are the services available for free.

A modernized yet old-school quiet library. Wi-fi is strong, staff is friendly, and lots of places to sit and relax. Please note that they are closed on Sundays AND Mondays, and close at 5p on Friday and Saturday (vs. 7p on Tues-Thurs). The cafe owner is super nice and make a strong cup of coffee! She has snacks and assorted food items, boba, smoothies... I even heard she has Pho - but she wasn't serving it that last time we visited. Please note that the Library Cafe keeps its own hours, is open Sunday and Mondays - and closes earlier than the library. There are a lot of homeless people around the parking area, but they don't tend to bother anyone as long as you're not staring or leaving belongings out in the open in parked cars. read more

I work in Fullerton most nights, so I love this public library so I can study (student at Fullerton College & Cypress College) before my shift starts. I prerfer to study in the Quiet Area desks which line the north wall of the library, along Commonwealth. However, despite there being signs and placards stating, "Quiet Study Area," other patrons continue to ignore these requests and talk loudly in the Quiet Study Area. I am there right now, and there are 3 people talking loudly in here. And the " Quiet Study Area,"' signs are just a few feet away from them. Staff and security personnel petiodically walk by but do mothing to quiet the talkative patrons in this area. It's annoying enough that I might have to move to a regular study area. read more

When I visit other places I enjoy checking out the local library if I have time since I am a book worm and libraries are part of the local community. This one is closed on Sundays and Mondays! Not super big, clean, well organized, decent selection of books and movies, not great. Big parking lot outside. Within walking distance from downtown! Curbside pickup has been a life saver at the Fullerton Public Library. Ian reads a book or two every day. Having this safe method to pickup and drop off books has been very helpful. Mrs. usually selects 15-20 books on their website, and puts them for curbside pickup. We select the pickup time and walk up to the front of the library at our selected pickup time. They have a desk stationed at the entrance for curbside pickup. Staff take our name and bring out a pre packaged brown paper bag with all the books we had selected. Once Ian completes reading the books, we drop them off at the drop box in the front of the library. We usually drop off the books at the same time when we pickup a new set of books. There is an option online to renew books Ian had not yet completed reading. Love our library! Thank you guys! read more

The library has your books, music, and dvds. The only downer is that the place is always so eerily empty, and so dark. Also, really big, so it feels like a maze. There's also a lot of weirdos in the parking lot after hours, so make sure to watch your kids or little ones. read more

They still manage to keep things clean inside and out , despite the homeless situation right outside of their doors. However too many homeless visitors this place on the daily and make it look not so favorable, also their parking lot seems to be taken by the people who live in the neighborhood. Homeless lay on the ground in plain day light , right outside of the building. Some have dirty dogs with them. I think they should really figure something out. Also the homeless are inside the library everyday of the week and weekend , taking up all the computers, and sometimes the smell it's too much. Sorry, wish there was more to do. read more

THIS PLACE IS A DAYTIME HOMELESS SHELTER. These people could care less if they show zero courtesy and are disruptive to others trying to quietly do their work. The employees at this library don't care what goes on. They just put in their hours and get paid for sitting at their desks doing absolutely NOTHING. That's all that obviously matters to them. It would be too much to expect a single one of them to actually care about the place they work at. So I made a stop by this library in January 2018 and several times thereafter. The problem has gotten even worse. The number of transients, homeless has increased. The Fullerton Library needs to take appropriate action instead of ignoring it. The library has a Code of Conduct which it has to enforce. I will conclude by saying I have nothing against these people. However their conduct should not be detrimental to others. This is sadly not the case. They are loud. They have loud conversations without any consideration to disturbing others. They move and rearrange tables and chairs across the room to suit their comfort needs as they camp out for the day. LOUD snoring audible from across the room. Yet not one library worker goes over to stop this disturbance. The floor and aisles are sometimes impassable due to the numerous bags, carts, and belonging that are spread all over. People are smoking weed in the restrooms after which the smell fills the library. I was amused by a sign posted in the restrooms asking users to NOT bathe, launder, shave, prepare food, etc. Now even the front courtyard area of the library has an additional large collection of people and their belongings. It is bordering on being an encampment. There are numerous bags, carts, and shoppings carts with people stationed all over the yard. The parking lot is now also home to numerous vehicles that some of these people live out of. Numerous vehicles parked with sunshades covering every window and clothes hanging outside. Fullerton Library is FAILING to create a welcoming, comfortable environment for ALL. Notice I said ALL, not just a select group of people. They are turning a blind eye to all the issues and problems that need to be fixed. I'm not sure what needs to happen in order for the countless employees sitting around doing nothing to actually work to solve the problems. Just read through all the past negative comments. They're all the same complaints. What has the library done to address or fix any of these issues? ABSOLUTELY NOTHING. read more

I'm new in town and went to the library to get a card and find some specific reading material. The gal at the front desk was super pleasant, and she issued my card lickety-split. I needed help finding a particular section, and the folks at the info desk were also very pleasant when helping me. I attempted to use the self checkout, and was a little confused on how it worked. Without me asking, the security guard of all people came over and taught me how to use the technology. I saw that he was even reading a book while he sat at his booth. Thought that was pretty cool. -Magical- Perhaps having a 2 and 5 year old helps with establishing this library as a five star establishment. They have a great selection of books, dvds and magazines. The shining star here though is their programs for children. Tuesday night is Bedtime Bears. This is a 1 hour event (7p-8p) and it includes; read stories, puppet shows. sing-a-longs, the occassional video and arts and crafts. This is free and the kids love it. Fullerton Public Library also hosts movie nights. Normally, Thursdays at 6:30. These get crowded and I typically take the 5 year old only. They have a decent sci-fi/fantasy section with the hard cover separate from the paperbacks. A bit shady outside but I have never been hassled and always feel safe bringing my children here. read more

I love this place - going to the library for lunch at the cafe and a reading session in the library has become a weekend ritual for my partner and I. The cafe is great - the dishes are simple, healthy, and delicious. The lady who works there is cheerful and brightens up my day. Sometimes there will be folks at the library who have mental issues and can be disruptive. But the staff are always patient while also promptly diffusing any distractions. I love this place! I've been coming here since I was a little kid and recently came back to get a new library card. The staff were so friendly and helpful. Getting a new library card was a snap! The library is large, spacious, and quiet. They have a great selection of print media as well as a pretty extensive electronic collection. I've checked out books, dvds, and most frequently, ebooks. It's very convenient, and best of all, free! Those complaining about the homeless really need to check their privilege and learn to have some compassion and basic human empathy. read more

This is a nice library. Looks new and it's very clean. They don't have that many books as it's a smaller library than some other libraries, but I've been able to find some books here that are bit more on the rare side. This library is open everyday, even on Sundays, so that's really great as most libraries close on Sundays. When you apply for a library card, you get three design choices; never seen that before. Very creative. The only problem is the lack of parking. Their lot is fairly small and so it's hard to find parking. read more

I love the library. I used to buy books a lot, and never read them. Now I, along with the rest of the country, am broke and can't afford to do this any more. And while my friend will go to Barnes and Noble and read the book in the store, I prefer to read in the comfort of my own home. The library does not get as many new books and I would like (at least not the ones I want) but I really haven't been disappointed in the selection. There is always something else to read. I love that I can search the catalog online before I come in, so I know what they have and if it is available. And I have to say, requesting a book and having it placed on a shelf next to the door is by far, the best way to shop at the library. I request it, they take it off the shelf, I get an email when it's ready, and I am in and out in 5 minutes. Thank you staff of the library for this service, and if you don't use it already, you are really missing out. Another fun thing is the automatic check out system. I helped this nice old lady do it the other day and she was like, wow that was fast! Another technology convert. Yay. Most people on here are complaining about the homeless people being at the library which I see no issue of. It's a public place not exempt to a certain class of person(s).. Anyways, My biggest complaint is that this location is not an ideal place to study. There's a lot of noise as well as loud conversation going on in between the receptionists. Probably the LOUDEST library I've ever been too.. might as well be at a starbucks or outdoor studying. read more

All of the disgusting people on this page complaining about the homeless should be ashamed. I'm glad that none of you feel no shame whatsoever spouting your hate for the less fortunate. That makes it easier to avoid you all. If you hate being around poor people, then good riddance! Guess what? The library is a community resource FOR EVERYONE. that means people that don't have shelter. If the smell bothers you, imagine their own shame. Most of us are just a few paychecks away from homelessness. People just want the poor and homeless sequestered off somewhere where they don't have to see it. We treat the poor like an inconvenience. Homelessness is something we have brought upon ourselves as a society, where there are more empty homes than homeless people out there. It should be front and center until we do something and fix it. Moving on to the actual library: this library is a wonderful community resource for everyone. There are children's programs, reading programs, passport services, readings, and lectures. As a kid I basically grew up here, reading pretty much everything in the children's area. Growing up we didn't have a reliable computer or printer so it was a vital resource to our family. Definitely got many school assignments done here. I've been to many public libraries and this is one of the best in terms of selection and newer books. It's a great place to check out a DVD for a dollar! I will probably come here forever! They are always finding new ways to stay modern and up to date. Please keep up the good work...many of us recognize how amazing this library is. If you're pissed off there aren't enough outlets for you, go fight it out at a Starbucks. read more

I come here to study. First off, there's a line of about at least 30 people before it even opens. Once the doors fly open, it's literally a race to get to a table that has an outlet. Most of the people are homeless and stay all day. If you don't get there early, you won't have anywhere to sit and you can forget about an outlet. Need to find another place to study because it's tough to concentrate over snoring. UPDATE: Today I came in to study and brought a water bottle and sandwich. I kid you not, I was chased down and told that food wasn't allowed. Mind you, the homeless bring in entire buffets yet I can't bring in two small things. If you're gonna regulate, make sure EVERYONE follows the rules, not just some. read more

Children section only. Library here is better than BP library but it's crowded. Everything feels like it's in cramped corners. Few tables are available due to a lot of people showing up. You may share tables with random people without them asking. They just sit there and pull everything out like you weren't already sitting there doing work. read more

Yesterday (October 10 at about 3:45) I encountered the two most unhelpful, apathetic reference librarians on the face of the planet. The staff at the ghetto Victorville library was more helpful when I lived there. I had to insist that they look something up for me, then they told me I had to go look it up myself, even though they already had it onscreen, and refused to push "print". Public servants? Edit: In regards to all of the judgy people critizing people objecting to the takeover by homeless people: they are not objecting to homelessness. They objecting to BEHAVIOR and unequal ENFORCEMENT of the rules. To the person on their high horse telling us all to treat homeless people with the courtesy they deserve, how about telling the homeless people to treat the rest of us with courtesy? read more

I only come here because it's so conveniently located next to my house, not because I actually enjoy it. It used to be amazing when I was a kid, they have great kid's reading programs and events. But when you're grown and need to use the library for LIBRARY purposes, it kinda sucks. CONS: 1. I get that homeless people are less fortunate and an air conditioned building open to the public is appealing but it's REALLY HARD getting work done with the smell. Sorry. 2. This isn't the library's fault but I feel like it has a more lenient atmosphere so people feel free to TALK LOUD AF and play their music on speaker and let their crying kids run around. If you want to hang out go to Starbucks or something not the library when people are trying to study. 3. Seating is SUPER limited. S U P E R. It gets to the point where we had to (with permission) use a fold-out table near the passport area designated for people filling out forms because there was no where else to sit, AND THERE WAS ONLY TWO OF US!!!!!! 4. They used to have a cafe with snacks and coffee with tables you could eat at but they removed it and that honestly blows. It was so nice!!! PROS: 1. They have a no food or drink policy but they're pretty lenient with snacking and bringing drinks in. Just don't be that jerk that pulls out a meal and make the whole place smell or something and ruin it for everybody. 2. The staff is super duper nice (maybe that's why they let homeless people stay?) and are always very welcoming and helpful. 3. They have group study rooms you can borrow with a valid ID. Granted there are only 3 so if you've been in there for an hour and another group requests it, you get booted. But if you time it right you can be in the study rooms for hours at a time. Overall a library is a library and not everyone knows how to act in public. Just bring some headphones, find a secluded seat, and you'll be Gucci. read more
