I like using the color printer and I can send the copies to an email address. Staff are very nice and helpful. They have good books. One thing I like them they open everyday. Unlike the Orange County public library closed on Friday and Sunday. read more

I absolutely love this library. There's always some type of event going on. We've come for arts and crafts, animal exhibits, and cultural events. I started coming here to get books for my son to read daily and there's so many options. We've learned so much about sports, animals, weather, and different cultures. We have also participated in their monthly reading logs and gotten vouchers for free In N Out, Panda Express and Black Bear Diner. There's a play kitchen, toys, blocks, puzzles, and computers. We love staying and playing. It's a free and safe activity to partake in. The staff is wonderful. They offer self check out for the books as well. I highly recommend checking them out. read more

We saw a flyer about a free kpop dance event before Mother's Day and we went to check it out. The parking is easy to find and free. The event was nice; they gave us free snacks, juices, photo card decoration booth and stickers and gave us a hour of free dance lesson and kids seem enjoying it (so as me). We had a blast! Couple of months ago, I was too early at the venue, so I went on to explore the city and found this library. In the past, in any library county, you must be a residence of the area in order to check out the books. Years have past, I begin to notice the last couple years that you can actually get a free library card at any location. Simply fill out the registration form at the library or you can do it online. Once you completed the registration, go to the check-out area and show your ID for verification. I actually have several library accounts. Do you know what is the best thing about this library? They are absolutely fine free library. How cool is that? You don't have to worry about any overdue fines. They charge only for lost or damaged items. They also charge for processing fees and collection agency fees. Thy have tables, computer area, copier, teen books, adult books, children section area, reference area, magazines, DVDs, CDs, and many other items to check out. On the second floor there is a Guildboard room which are filled with different categories of books for sale. Currently it is closed due to passport service. When I came last time, there were some kind children's activities, so I wasn't able to explore it. They have study room and tables. Second floor seems to be quieter than the first floor. They have pretty good parking spaces. I will be returning to this library after 10 renewals unless another patron put my checked-out books on hold. Overall, the customer service great. The building itself is sort of meh, but the inside is a beacon of joy and learning. We come over here for the kids story times, and the personnel they have working here are just the kindest people you'd ever hope to meet. You can tell that they do this because they enjoy it. They sing songs and read stories, getting all the children involved with props and age appropriate toys. It's really a special treat and the children really just love it. They come home singing and laughing about the whole experience. Then you can head downstairs and use the computers, check out a few books, play with their puzzles and blocks. They have a little bit of everything. Some days they even have complimentary crafts and reading challenges with prizes. Fun, free afternoon. Love this library. read more

PASSPORT RENEWAL...seamless process. I found the option to make a reservation on-line. My appointment was scheduled for 2 PM, arrived at 1:45 PM & received immediate reception from Monique. She was very polite and even told my friend she could get her passport renewal & photo done, too! MARIO's customer service was exceptional. He processed two passport renewals within record time. I've been making the rounds various public libraries in order to use the free wi-fi and have a quite spot to hunker down with my laptop. The library has a large quite room with plenty of cubbies with power strips, so it made for a good place to hang out. I am not in that area too often needing a spot to land, but if I need one, I won't be afraid to use them. read more

The library provides Passport service and the team here is simply awesome. I happened to visit here as City Hall was closed due to observance of Veteran's Day. Facts before going in for Passport service: Make an appointment by calling them. I went there and had to come back after 3 hours. (3 hours is sufficient for you to have documents prepared if you are New Passport applicant) You need: DS-11 Application 2 Passport photos (you can take it here as well) Copy of your Driver License (Front & Back) Birth Certificate or Certificate of Naturalization Check or Money Order I've attached photo details for your convenience. There's separate fee $35.00 which is Execution Fee, you can pay by Credit Card, Debit Card or Cash at your preference. The library is generally nice and clean, but my only gripe is the noise. People talk very loudly, listen to music so loud that you could hear it from a couple spaces away etc. What ever happened to the good old days when it was required to be quiet at the library?!?! read more

Nice public library in the OC. Basic good size and not so big near Knotts Berry Farm. They have lots of older books and they have some for sale often. Library is connected to City Hall. Great staff here always for the help of the visitors. I have seen a homeless problem here like the ones in Anaheim. Where a man attacked a staff worker a few years ago. I am happy they are right near the police station too. Anyhow, This is a safe area and library. read more

There's LOTS to offer at this old school library. There's a bottom basement floor good for meetings. My kids girl scouts often meets there. There's the main floor with books for sale by the entrance. Free Wifi. If you go straight, you will see two nice ladies that can help you with any questions regarding the library. There's the upper floor that is made for quiet reading areas. We also came here and used the passport services for the kids. It sure beats waiting at a Post Office. They have all the forms for you to fill out and they mail it out for you as well. Best service if you don't like to deal with long lines or loud places. I believe you have to bring a checkbook for payment and it's only open on certain days. There are summer reading programs here, always good for the kids and encourage them to read for prizes. We try to hit up 2 library in the summer for this. (more free food upon completion of books) Parking is huge and plenty. There is only one way in and one way out so make sure you come in on the correct arrow. read more

It's a decent size library, my son liked it. But the main reason why I went to this particular library is to renew my son's and I passport. The service was was fast and by appointment. You have to be there in line to get a ticket and then select the best appointment time available for you later in the afternoon. It's a process, but it worked for me, I should be getting our passports in a few weeks. read more

This review is specifically for the passport service. It was super easy to make an appointment online. We arrived 10 minutes early, and they took us in right away! Including pictures, we were out in less than 20 minutes for two passports! Huge shout out to Trevor who handled our two toddlers like a pro getting them to take pictures and processing the paperwork while they were running around. read more

My 87 y o mom with a walker and I waited in line on Tuesday 02/07/23 for passport services. At 9 am, they handed tickets for few people who came first. I asked the person in charge if they have ADA accommodations as my mother is disabled. She answered, oh we have ramps for her! I asked her to give me forms so when we come back with luck, we're ready. At least she was kind enough to give us extra. read more

Came here to get my son's passport. Trevor made the process seamless. We were there almost closing time, and Trevor still had the energy to explain each step to us. I'm not sure if he's a volunteer, but I'd like to give all out kudos to him. They only accept personal and cashier's check for passport processing. No cash and cards. read more

This review is long over due! Another great day at the library for my two daughters and I. Miss Mary is so kind and knowledgeable, I felt compelled to give this library 5 stars. It is wonderful to be able to come to a public establishment and be greeted with such excellent customer service. Miss Mary is a literary ANGEL! You can tell this woman loves her job and adores children- but she has also been an amazing resource to ME (as a parent who homeschools.) I remember going to this library, when I was a kid. Also, they got more dvd/blu ray movies than other libraries have. Still, I haven't been there for 6 years since, I watched the planet of the apes from 1968. Eventually, I'll find more movies to watch at home, when the movie theaters are temporarily closed right now. Yes, I did enjoy this place and to read books for a very long time. I also liked their big parking lot in order to enter the place as customers only. Lastly, I'll recommend this place to my family and friends. read more

Went here to renew my expired passport. Clean and organized. 3 passport 1 adult .2 kids plus photo and proccessing fee cost us about 435 dollars and its 18 weeks for the new passport to arrive due to pandemic.hope this help u read more

Slow down or you're likely to miss the entry driveway, just after you pass the big DO NOT ENTER sign. The building is practically non-descript, boxy, but am sure it serves the community well. It also smelled clean inside and was thankfully air conditioned well on a hot SoCal afternoon (91 degrees !) The bathroom has updated fixtures, and was likewise clean and bright. I came here to renew my passport. Payment only by check or money order (you will need two - one for the passport ( I paid $110) and one to pay to the library - $35 (includes passport photo). Hours: Tuesday, Wednesday & Thursday afternoon, 4 to 7 pm - great hours for those of us who work the daily morning grind, no appointment required. Not sure about the weekend hours, but I see other Yelpers noted it. Caveat: be prepared to fill out the long form, which is the ONLY form they accept/process here. The info required there had me wracking my brain for names & dates. They do have copies, but you can also download and at least pre-fill the forms from : http://travel.state.gov/content/passports/english/passports/apply.html The library is such a convenience as you cannot apply online or if you are not comfortable just mailing in a renewal. Very nice, calm, sweet faced library staff. After all, they seem to have the passport thing down, and that means dealing with a LOT of people who ask a LOT of the same questions on a daily basis. Study environment is just AOK. They have wifi but limited plugs. There is an older feeling to this place and kind of dusty smell. I had to leave after a short time. Lots of big tables. They computers, a game area, and a great kids section. They also have a passport office. AOK. read more

The Buena Park Library. For as long as we've lived in OC the Buena Park Library has seemed like home. Local elementary school kids, college aged students, senior citizens would fill the tables and benches upstairs, downstairs and outside on the large wraparound porch reading, researching and studying for exams. As computers got cheaper, high speed Internet became the norm in homes, and streaming movies became more popular, fewer people used the library. - I'd read newspapers and magazines I didn't want to buy (Wall Street Journal and Cosmopolitan). Today I find news and mags online or browse thru them at the bookstore, while I sip a latte. No food or drink in the library, remember? - Copy documents I brought from home or found in newspapers and magazines (copies were less than 5cents per page). Today I scan or cut and paste documents I'll later file away for later consumption (recipes) or print directly from my computer to a home printer. - Borrow videocassette or DVDs. Today I mostly stream documentaries and movies thru my computer. In fact, most modern computers are delivered without DVD drives (see iMac 2013) because live streaming and Cloud computing is assuming that task. - Microfiche articles. Today it's all about the Internet. - Books. Today I download to Kindle. Someday I'll have few hard copies of books to donate or recycle. I walked into the Buena Park Library today, right after school, a time when the library used to be teaming with students. The entry was festive and inviting. Bookshelves filled with knowledge just waiting to pour into my head. But the halls were quiet - One librarian on duty at the front desk, one customer browsed thru community newspapers and fliers, and me donating old books for resale. As for Applying US Passport: No very long lines, quick processing. At least from my experience, they opened 10 minutes earlier than what it's supposed to be. They provide you all the details, what to fill up, how to fill up, etcetera, etcetera. And the hours of application are very convenient compared to the postal offices nearby. As for the Library: Free wifi, love it. Books are organized, easy to follow. Customer service staffs are approachable and helpful. The place is clean, me like. Very quiet, appropriate place to study. I used to do my homework, assignments, and study for exams here. . Lots of individual working stations. Not so busy parking lot. They opens Saturday which is nice. This review is based off passport only. We came here based off recommendations with our 2 year old and 4 month old who haven't gotten a passport before. The website says 12-4 on Saturday (and so did the papers inside the library) but we got here at 11:30 and checked in at 11:37. They check to make sure you have all your paperwork and items before you are allowed to check in. They were already calling people back, so I don't know when they actually open for passports. I'm glad that we got there early because quite a large flood of people came in around 12. Like I mentioned, we checked in at 11:37 and were out in 40 minutes. The little kids area kept our 2 year old busy enough and once were called in the back it was maybe 10 minutes. (So 30 minutes waiting and 10 minutes of processing). Very very happy we came here. I spent a lot of time here in high school studying for the Academic Decathlon. If the novel is listed on the back of your Cliffs Notes, it is probably here. The library has good collections of Chinese literature anthologies in translation, college textbooks, and literary analyses. This building has two floors. You can check out your own books here and the machine will print out a receipt. read more
