This library is located at CSUF. You do have to pay for parking which is $15 so pretty pricy to study. It has many floors to study. The have study pods to study in as well they have a printing machine and computers to use as well as a Starbucks. Very convenient ! read more

If you get here early enough you can snag one of the quiet study desks close to the windows on the third floor that actually have an outlet. Definitely utilize the librarians as they have all the sources for APA formatting and a cheat sheet for how to do the citations. Broke students: Utilize the IT student laptop loaners!!! You can rent a daily laptop for 24 hours OR you can apply for a long term laptop (second floor of the library) to borrow for the whole semester. read more

The library is great but this feedback is for Student Genius Center. There's so many services including study places, tutoring, writing center, and the southside is a good hangout spot. LOVE your campus library. Treat her right. She's Paper-Writing Paradise, and I don't mean that lightly. Got a big essay you need to write for a class that requires 5 or more sources? No problem! Take out as many books as you need on the topic. The limit on how many you're allowed to borrow is literally in the hundreds. ALSO, I deeply encourage you to utilize the often overlooked buffet of knowledge: DATABASES! Pollak Library has given all students access to massive databases that dig up articles on anything and everything, and if you want to look up what you need for a class, the library has it so you can sort databases based on the college from which your class comes. Last semester I had an American studies paper on comparing how a topic was covered in early U.S. newspapers. The Pollak Library had a database that allows you to read scanned American papers dating back to the 1700s. I sat there sifting through the database for hours, even when I'd collected all of the sources I needed. Perhaps the best part of the databases for some people? You can get to them from home using the library's website. The library also houses the Writing Center, if you want to polish up your paper (which is probably due in 5 minutes if you're a true Titan, am I right?). They've got an open access lab, with a monitor in the lobby telling you how many computers are available and where for your convenience. The only thing that does sort of irk me is should you look up a book the status almost always reads "CHECK SHELVES." You get to where it's supposed to be in the stacks and it's not there. Oh well. Still, the library is a fascinating resource. USE IT. read more

They closed off several floors and now it's impossible to find a quiet place to study. Also.. the chairs. What. The. Hell. WHY ARE THE CHAIRS MADE OF NOTHING BUT WOOD AND METAL? WHERE IS THE PADDING? How are you supposed to sit comfortably for more than an hour? The "cubicles" are also terrible. There are some private ones that are like the UC libraries, but most of them are plywood mounted on desks. You can see the person across from you. It's very distracting. I never appreciated the other libraries I've been to in the school system until I had to go to this one. So upset... even community colleges have better libraries. read more

This place is gorgeous and spacious. I'm so grateful for all of the resources I have access too (music, headphones, private study rooms, computers, printers, starbucks)! But, I'm giving this place 4 stars because it can get so loud, and there's no staff to enforce people to be quiet. I know I can't rely on the library being quiet so I now bring my headphones and I'll usually listen to classical music while i study. I'm glad people use this as a place to hangout, but please keep it quiet. If you feel like being loud, go to the bowling and arcade center... it's only like 15 feet away. read more

This library was my home-away-from-home for my five year tenure at CSU Fullerton. My combination hang out spot, dining room, and bedroom, all the comforts of home, especially the 4th floor where you can take in a wonderful view of the Kinesiolgy building while being able to chat with your friends and to a tiny degree, munch. If you need a quiet and deserted spot to study, I recommend the 7th floor of the old part of the library. Be prepared and bring your parka though, it's REALLY cold up there. Also, try to bring a quiet buddy just to be safe. There's no one there typically and it's just a smart move. It's so funny because there's a rumor that the upper floors of the library are haunted because of a massacre that occured here in the '70s. Well, the massacre part is true but the killings actually happened in the basement and the lobby floor. The top floors are just creepy because it's so cold and no one really goes up there. Truthfully, I miss this place. I wish I had a reason to come here now that I'm an alumna. I would consider Pollack Library if I ever need some alone-time or just sit down with a book. read more

Large library but I can never find an open computer around 11am. Boo. There are 6 floors in the library, not including the basement. The upper levels have study rooms in which a group can study or work on group projects together as loudly as they want without disturbing other students. Each floor has a water fountain and restrooms. The basement is the coolest floor in the entire library because it's the most space efficient, and holds the oldest, of the oldest, of the OLDEST BOOKS on campus. You have to flip a few switches here and there, and the shelves move automatically until an aisle is available and are able to get the book. But be sure to ask for help! I'm sure the library doesn't want just anyone playing with it. Moving on.. There is a newly opened Starbucks on the first floor. The line gets pretty long but it moves quickly. There are indoor and outdoor seating for Starbucks. Back to the library.. All computer access requires your school login and printing is 10 cents a page. And there's no option for printing on both sides of the paper, which really bothers me :-/ TIP: if you must, and I mean absolutely must take a dump, I suggest going to the upper level (4-6). There isn't as much people up there, so you are free to let it rippppppp! read more

Let me say this as plainly as possible. The 3rd floor of the North Wing is for QUIET studying. No talking, no cell phones, no chit-chat, and no studying loudly in groups. Just QUIET studying! Sadly this school is filled with liberal arts majors, and those who have failed Underwater Basket Weaving 3 times in a row. These same people are the ones who poison the 3rd floor for the rest of us who are science majors, and desperately NEED a quiet place to study. Remember to be nice to us nerds, or we'll never help you pass your hard classes, copy our notes/homework, and/or tutor you. read more

I was surprised to see that people have reviewed this. Ahhh, to be a college student again. Dang, I just aged myself. This library, well, what can I say? It's definitely up to date. I haven't been to many other college libraries, but the CSUF Library is unique in that it brings the old and new skool together. One side has the actual books, periodicals, and whatnot, while the other side has the fancy new tables/chairs, internet access, Lexus Nexus (is that still around?), and computers. I'm sure it's improved a lot since I've graduated. This facility is well kept, and great for ummmmm many things. I'm not going to say what I did in college, but they were some good times. read more

Strange. I'm giving the library a better review than the university as a whole. I can't say that I can compare it to other university libraries, but this one didn't disappoint me in terms of my needs. It did its job. I still go back and use it. The upper floors are better in general for quiet. The second floor is for sleeping or chatting, depending on what time of day. The 6th Floor South Wing was awesome for quiet, privacy, and interesting for perusing of the collections. It's so empty up there that I often used the restrooms as rehearsal studios, even work space for my art classes. And honestly, there's a creepiness to the upper South Wing floors, but eh... it adds character. Oh yeah.. and several years ago the janitor killed a bunch of people in the library. I love the library, it's so fascinating! You can watch movies upstairs, check out music, study with a group of friends, visit galleries, go on the computer, or visit one of the resource centers. The telephone operators for the campus are located in the library! Don't be alarmed when you're in the stacks in the south part of the library and the lights go off...they're motion sensitive, tell the couple making out in the corner to step to their left and the lights will come back on. read more

I only go the library to use the basement computer lab. I love the basement more than words can explain. Nothing but endless tables of computers that run suuuuper fast. So fast that I can have seven PowerPoints open simultaneously so that I can study for that midterm I have in two hours. Only problem is that there's no cell phone reception in the basement, but when I'm there I'm there to study so who cares about getting texts. read more

I love this library. I have used it a hundred thousand times both as a student and graduate/alumni. It's quiet, it has plenty of places to relax, take a nap, study at a table. As an educator, I really enjoy the children's book collection & teachign materials on the 4th floor. Free WiFi is always good, computers are always accessible downstairs if you dont have one & they have laptop docks on the various floors to work on your own computer. The staff here are always friendly and helpful & the materials I need are always available. read more

The library is the best place to be on campus. I mean that. There is pretty much anything you could need in this library. There are books, computers, copiers, etc. This place is humongous and I am not sure if I ever discovered where it ended. There is a writing center for those who need help or want someone to take a look at their paper and give feedback. You can take out as many books as you need, but you can also use the database to access needed materials. If you need help there are many staff available to help whether it is accessing something, looking for something, etc. During finals time or any test for that matter, this place is great. There are study rooms, floors where you can talk and floors where you cannot talk, which helps greatly when it comes to preferred study methods. I highly suggest that students use this resource. read more

Need to get work done?? Go to the CSUF library. There are many floors which have tons of tables and study rooms. There is also a basement floor filled with nothing but computers at the same area as the IT Tech Help Center. There are electronic boards that tell you how many free computers there are on each floor as well. The 4th floor is usually for the louder groups, while 2nd and 3rd are mainly for self-studying and tutoring. There is also tons of books to be rented in the south side of the library even though many people do not go there. Be ready to wait during midterms/finals weeks because the library is one of the most popular places during this time! read more

I'm not a student here but I go to this library for their free wireless and quiet study area on the third floor. Unfortunately I seem to go during peak hours [around 11-1pm], because it's always really busy in this library during the weekdays. Almost to the point where I can't find a plug in for my laptop. Weekends are dead which is perfect for studying. Check their hours because it changes during breaks. read more

The AC here sucks. The restrooms are semi-clean. There cubicle desks are old, and they don't have electrical outlets like the ones they have at OCC. You'll have to walk around looking for a desk next to an outlet if you want to charge your phone/laptop. read more

I came in to ask questions about conducting my research properly. I was not getting back many results and I was helped by Lindsey. She an amazing upbeat girl with a sense of humor and positive attitude. She helped me narrow down my research and showed me how to properly search in database. She also showed me how to request scholarly journals and download them. Anytime I have a question, I hope she's available. Because she made me feel comfortable in asking any question. I found my new favorite office away from work! Me and my laptop feel like we can conquer the world...or at least my job for now. Free wifi, Starbucks open late in the lobby, covered parking lot nearby, window view, private desks with an outlet, open till midnight M-Th. Now THAT'S a library. The only drawback is the daily permit is $8. Ouch. At least the wifi is free. WINNING. read more

Poorly ventilated that is why there are unusual odors. It's always packed and cleanliness needs to be improved. Staff are generally unhelpful because most are students that lack authority to make significant changes or they lie just to get out of a negative situation; very unprofessional and incompetent. I would not go here for printing because there is always a problem with malfunctioning machinery and staff do not refund you for printing problems. read more

I love this library and I used to love it more but the recent earthquake damage caused it to now be closed completely on the south side so no more checking out books myself. Bummer. They do however let you request for them to go get a book for you so that's cool! I like that they also suggest to get the book you need from another library. So yes it is inconvenient that you can't go to the south side for now but I do like the accommodations they have so I can continue getting books. Yay! read more

people at this library talk a lot. It was really hard to focus. I wished the staff paid more attention to this. Not satisfied at all
