Atlanta Dog Wizard - There's truly nothing better than an off leash reliable dog enjoying the beach

Our dog Moose did the 14 day Board & Train with Sam and we are so happy with the results. We wanted…read morethe focus of her training to be on e-collar obedience and Sam did an excellent job helping her and us learn. We can now take Moose off leash comfortably knowing she will come when called, sit and stay even in busy environments. I feel like we are happier humans and she is a happier dog thanks to Sam's help. The training style used was also based on rewarding Moose with play rather than food or negative reinforcement, which I really appreciate and didn't know much about before. We couldn't be more pleased with the results. Highly recommend Dog Wizard and Sam!

Probably my highest review ever for a service I haven't used yet. hear me out…read more I just rescued a Rat Terrier puppy called Raffi from Texas, who showed signs of abuse and trauma upon arrival. I've parented/known many rescues in the past and never seen anything like the fear she exhibited. fully freaked out, I shot a message to Atlanta Dog Wizard with an SOS to help. Kat quickly got in touch and we had about a 30-min call, which provided me with INVALUABLE insight into my urgent situation. That information she gave me--keep in mind, I had paid no money for her advice or training to this point--gave me some practices I could use, right away, to make Raffi feel more comfortable. I still might officially use Atlanta Dog Wizard in the future, if Kat is any indication how the company does things. She has a passion for rescues and turning around challenging situations and making dogs (and humans) shine. Cannot recommend highly enough.

This review is a bit overdue as my dog is almost 10 years old and she was trained as a puppy. We…read morewere at such a loss with Violet and didn't know what to do. I saw a bad review from someone else years ago and it triggered me to post this. I was actually a bit mortified by the post as it was the most unprofessional review and so far from the truth. Actually Violet still goes to US Canine for boarding every time we go out of town and I won't take her anywhere else. Violet actually went to another training facility (one I will not name) and she came out worse than when she went in. Violet is a pit bull and as most people are aware pit bulls get a really bad wrap. They just need a little proper training and some TLC (as with any animal) and that's exactly what US Canine did. She actually did have to go through the intense two week training for extreme behavioral issues (trained by Angie) and she came back a completely different dog! I love Violet so much and if it wasn't for US Canine we would have had to give her up. She has become such an important part of my family and I wouldn't have done anything differently. In fact, my next dog will be going there as well and I live 20 miles away! Thank you US Canine (and thanks for letting me review you so I can post a pic of my doggie )

We tried 3 different in-home trainers over a year and saw little to no difference. At one point one of these people even told us our dog would need to be on anxiety medication the rest of his life. Then, one of the agencies suggested we try US Canine before surrendering our pup. Our dog spent 3 weeks at US Canine and came home the loving, respectful, and sweet dog we knew he could be (no medication necessary!). It has now been 8 months and I am so thankful to US Canine for giving us a second chance with our dog! Everyone at US Canine cares about your dog and your family and they make a concerted effort to help you understand the changes you need to make for your dog to be successful. They are always available for questions and concerns so that your success can continue longterm. I now have confidence with my dog and know exactly what to do to redirect him from minor issues and continue his learning. US Canine is THE BEST!

When she went into the hospital, I discovered that she was starving her animals to skin and bone. Many will have to be euthanized. What a HORROR.

In April of 2018, my husband, Adam, and I were at a crossroads. Our buddy Remus had inconsistent…read moreaggression and behavior issues that were becoming more regular. We'd adopted him a year prior, when he was approximately three years old. Throughout the year, Remus had struggled off and on with minor/moderate behavioral issues-- leash walking, listening to commands, dominance issues with other dogs, and snapping. Two minor bite incidents had also occurred within this time. And though both incidents were a result of Remus being provoked, we still felt like we were at the point of taking severe action. Our wonderful dog walker, Liam, suggested we see a Certified Behavior Consultant and recommended Chris/The Balanced Dog. From the moment Chris stepped into our house, I knew she was the answer. She had practical and applicable knowledge that went above and beyond what we expected. Her insight was dead-on, and her knowledge was astounding. She understood the biology that led to common behavior problems, and related it to us in a tangible way. She was funny, and no nonsense. I instantly connected. During our first meeting, she took time to listen. She heard our concerns, and listened to our fears. For the first 30 minutes to an hour, Remus wasn't in the room. She wanted to observe his response to separation, and she wanted to get to know us. When we finally let Remus out of the back room, Chris really started to shine. She was so confident. She played games with him, all the while explaining exactly why she was moving and interacting in specific ways. Remus knew she was different, and his response to her was unlike anything I'd ever seen. By the end of the lesson, we were up on our feet interacting with Remus in a new way. When she left, I cried into Adam's shoulder. It was the first time since we adopted Remus that I truly felt like it was going to work out for the long run. Some things to keep in mind as you prepare to work with Ms. Chris... 1. You have to work consistently with your pup throughout the week, and practice what Ms. Chris is teaching you during your lesson. 2. You can't be afraid. As Ms. Chris said to me once when I was freaking out, "Amy, your dog is not Cujo." 3. Your dog's behavior is way more about YOU and how you're communicating than it is about your dog. If you can remember those (3) things, as you start this process with The Balanced Dog, you'll be successful. Chris gave us our lives back. She taught us how to communicate with Remus, and how to help him alleviate stress. He is a completely different dog, and our family bond is much stronger. Chris is accessible-- she speaks on your level (even though I'm 99% positive she is MUCH smarter than all of us). If you're struggling, and wrestling with tough decisions, call Chris first. She will be a huge asset to your team and you will absolutely not regret it.
