Yesterday I took my 8-year-old son to get his hair cut by Kelly. We've been coming to her for a couple of years, and my son was genuinely excited--he loves getting his hair cut by her. Halfway through the haircut, in a salon full of people (another client in the chair, someone waiting for him, and two entire families waiting for Kelly), she loudly announced that my son "has lice" and immediately began stripping him of everything. I was completely shocked and confused. My son has never shown any signs of lice--he doesn't scratch, I wash his hair daily, and I've never seen anything. I immediately asked, "Can I see?" and she loudly responded, "Outside you can," in front of everyone. She then told me I still had to pay full price, despite the haircut not being finished and continuing the service. While waiting to pay, I stood there for several minutes while Kelly loudly instructed the assistant to "spray the WHOLE area with Fabuloso and let it sit," wrapped my son's cape in a bag, and announced that it "has to go outside for two weeks." All of this was said loudly, in front of everyone, while every person in the salon stared at us. My son was in tears, asking what he did wrong and why we were being kicked out. He was humiliated, confused, and scared. Kelly continued loudly explaining that she saw "eggs," a "bloody bug," and claimed he must have had lice for days or weeks--again, all said publicly. I took my son immediately to urgent care, where he was examined by two nurses, a doctor, and myself. They checked multiple times. There was no lice. No eggs. No nits. No redness. No bite marks. No scratches. What he had was a small amount of dandruff. Nothing more. I am writing this review the next morning after sleeping on it, and I am still heartbroken. Not because she stopped the haircut--I understand that if she thought she saw something, she needed to stop service. What is unacceptable is HOW she handled it. This could have been handled privately and calmly. She could have quietly informed me while disinfecting, and I would have paid, thanked her, and left without incident. Instead, my child was publicly humiliated. Kelly works with children. This is not how you treat a child--or anyone. My son has ADHD and severe anxiety, and this incident has deeply affected him. He has been questioning and crying about it all day. According to the medical professionals who examined him, Kelly was mistaken. I will never return here, and I do not recommend this salon to anyone--especially parents. Someone who handles a situation like this should not be working with children. read more

I took my 4-year-old autistic son for a haircut and had one of the worst experiences I've ever encountered. From the moment we walked in, the barber's attitude was visibly unpleasant and dismissive. She stopped halfway through his haircut, complaining that she "didn't want him throwing up on her floor," when in reality my son was not sick--he was simply crying and overwhelmed, which is normal for many children, especially those with special needs. I paid $30 for a rushed, unfinished, and unprofessional haircut. It's beyond me why someone would choose to work as a children's barber if they cannot handle crying or screaming. Her attitude showed she is completely unfit to work with kids, let alone those who require a little more patience and compassion. Parents, please think twice before bringing your children here--especially if they have special needs. read more

I won't ever again in my life take my son here!!!! First, I understand is for kids, that doesnt mean that you're going to do a bad cut just because they wont say nothing! They want to do it so fast that they dont even know what are they doing!!! they have no idea what an outline is, and my sons hair has patches...the lady that did my baby's hair is horrible!! Dont know her name, the one with dark hair, I told her hey its not blended well and she said " well he is a kid hair still growing like wth does that even mean, it had patches cause you don't know clearly what a haircut is and dont know how to use the machine!!! This place is a favorite for my 2 yr old boy who loves cars. He loves to sit in the car stools, and the hairdresser is very kind and patient! Great for a quick cut, and she listens to parent suggestions and asks questions to get the right cut. Can be very busy on Saturdays and before holidays, but a very quick turnaround. The hairdresser attacked my one year old with her scissors. She got him very upset! He was sitting there very calm and then she pounced wetting his head profusely and then was extremely rough. He has scratches on his neck and is marked up behind his ears from the clippers. At one point I was scared she was going to stab him in the eye! No joke, this was a horrible experience and I will never return. I hope my baby isn't traumatized from the experience. My 7 year old also complained how rough she was and said she almost cut his hair. He loved the atmosphere, but said he never wanted to go back anyway because she was so rough. read more

This place is good only if you need a quick hair cut. The people working here are just churning customers. They are not interested in spending time discussing hair styles. With one exception (that was a mistake on my part), Kelly is the only person who has ever cut either of my kids' hair (8 and 6 years old). She does an amazing job, is extremely friendly to both the kids and parents, and always has a smile on her face. I really can't understand all of the negative comments on here about her and her shop. It is full of color, decorations, kids' movies and toys, and awesome kid-themed stools. Everything about it is welcoming, including Kelly. She acted as if she didnt want to do her job. Newsflash: If you hate your job then quit!! I took my kids and walked right out! I called and asked to speak to her manager and was told She was the manager and that i could call back and leave a complaint on the voicemail. What was the point of that if she was the manager?? I was very unimpressed with this place. I walked in with my son and the place was dirty. Hair everywhere on the floor and we walked in about 20 min after it opened for the day. My son was super scared and wasn't fully cooperative and I wish the girl would have said to try again another time, the trim she did around the edges was completely uneven and looks awful. It looks like she put a bowl on his head and cut, I hate it. I will never be going back here, ever. Even though it was only $8 it wasn't worth that, I'm now trying to fix it on my own and wish I would have never gone to this place. Ugh. read more

Used to love this place, and it's definitely still great for a quick cut for the kids. But lately it's appeared dirty, like the floor hasn't been washed, the vacuum hasn't gotten into the corners, and the tower for the dirty towels hasn't been emptied. Sure, there's a lot of hair flying around from the cuts, but the same could be said for all salons/barber shops. Some more attention to cleanliness would really go a long way. read more

I have no idea where Jackie E went, but it couldn't have been here!! Fun Kuts 4 Kids is where I have been taking my kids since their first haircuts, and they will be 8 and 6 next month. My daughter has multiple special needs, and my son deals with anxiety, so I thought finding a good fit would be difficult. From the moment we walked in, Kelly made both kids feel at ease, and their first haircuts (and ages 3 and 1) went very well! We've been coming here since. We called ahead and were told they do not take appointments, only walk ins. So we drove over and after about 5 minutes a women came in with her daughter and said, "we called ahead" and the lady replied, "oh, yes, your next" I asked the lady, when we called you told us you did not take appointments to which she replied "sorry" We were not impressed with the place anyway so it was probably for the best.
