We rented a pontoon with a Captain for a birthday party. The pontoon was very clean, the Captain was friendly and very professional. The Captain picked us up and dropped us off at a prearranged location without any issues. He took us to an island where we stopped and had a picnic. The experience was superb! My actual ratings for this place is 1/2 out of five stars is because the guy on the phone answered. And besides that, he has a freaking bad attitude! At first, we did consider to rent a pontoon for a weekend so we did call to ask questions. At first, we are a deaf family and we used the video phone relay (with an interpreter.) When the interpreter did announce that we are deaf and we do sign ASL and the interpreter interprets for us, the guy on the phone went like, "uhhh? So who am i talking to?" And then few seconds later, he hung up on us. And then a second attempt to call (we mentioned the interpreter to not announce when the guy answers the phone.) (we never did catch his name) After he picked up the phone and we did ask questions about renting a pontoon and theres dates that have availability, he said, "i don't have time to answer the questions. You go to the link and check the calendar. Have a good day." He hung up on us. How he did talk on the phone towards us did make me want to show up at this place and confront him because of him not being a professional and throwing a "jerk guy attitude" at us. It would have been a different story if he was nice and able to answer the questions. read more

We bought a living social deal for a 1 hour jet ski rental for $40. We initially attempted to make a same day reservation with no luck, but were able to make a reservation about a week in advance without any problem. When I made the reservation I was informed that taxes and gas would be additional. The living social fine print mentioned the taxes so I expected that, but nothing about the gas, although this is typical with rentals so wasn't surprised. I was informed that If I'd purchased the $40 deal, our gas would be $20 but that if I'd purchased the $35 deal, the gas would be $25. Hmm...not sure how that makes sense to charge more for gas if you bought the cheaper deal. We showed up a few minutes before our reservation time and met with the owner. He gave us about five pages of information to fill out and sign, all the typical liability stuff. He then informed me of the taxes and the gas charge of $20. He told me that he had to charge tax and that tax would be about $2.80 but he was only going to charge me $2 because his credit card machine on his phone charged tax as well. So basically what I understood was that he was adding $2 to the gas fee for taxes and then taxing that total ... so taxing the tax. I questioned him on this and he couldn't explain why he was taxing the tax other than to say that he has to pay taxes and that $2 is less than the $2.80 that it should be. I felt like he couldn't explain his business practice well enough so that it made sense and when I questioned him he kind of copped an attitude with me. He then stated that he wasn't going to charge me the tax. To which I stated that I would pay the tax, but that I just didn't understand his process. He again stated he wasn't going to charge me tax because he wanted me to have "fun" and I wasn't having fun. I just wanted him to explain why he was taxing the tax. At one point I asked if this was the tax on the jet ski rental and he just kept repeating that he had to pay taxes on all services and that $2 is less than $2.80. He then ran my credit card and charged me $20 for gas and $1.40 in tax on the gas. Once seeing this, I determined that the $2.80 that he was referring to was the tax that had to be paid for the jet ski and that the way to pay it was to add it to the gas charge, but then the way his credit card system was set up it would add tax to it. This all made sense to me once I figured out (on my own) that it was the tax for the jet ski. I just wish he could've explained this to me instead of getting an attitude and treating me like I was dumb. He then proceeded to explain our location, the channel and how to run the jet ski. It was a lot of information to take in. I didn't feel that the directions out of the channel were very clear because he kept skipping from point to point. He told us we were about 15 minutes from Johns Pass so we would have about 30 minutes on the Gulf. It ended up taking us over 25 minutes to get to John's pass because the channel markers were not very clear, nor were his explanations. We made it back much more quickly once we figured out which way to go. We did end up going about 15 minutes over our allotted hour and expected to pay the additional $1/minute upon return. However, he did not mention that we were over and did not charge us. He gladly got us off the jet ski, out of his life jackets and on our way. Apparently, he couldn't be rid of us fast enough. As for the jet skis, they were probably a few years old and had visible wear and tear that included minor scratches and duct tape spots. It didn't seem that they ran smoothly, as sometimes the throttle would flare without even touching it. We will most definitely not rent anything from Fun Unlimited again. Just an overall poor experience and not worth giving another chance. read more

Tried to rent paddle boards to take to Mad beach on a Saturday. The owner was rude, and unwilling to answer questions (price, time, delivery offsite rental etc). When he did finally answer he would say "some times" or "maybe," nothing definitive. Even after all that I tried to make the reservation and he said no he didn't want to do an off site reservation today and hung up. I would not recommend using this company. read more

Had an awesome time using their PWC. The bay was filled with dolphins. And the rental is cheaper than any other place around.

Super nice guys who work here. It's located in a Marina and you can ski in the bay - lots of space... Will definitely be back soon!!!

For all the bad reviews they have changed locations and are at a better location where getting out of the no wake zone is only 3 to 4 min. Derek was great and shows you plenty of sights as 2 ell gives you free range to go and do whatever. read more

AWFUL PLACE! Told us we'd be guaranteed 3 jet skis if we waited 40 minutes. We waited, then when we came to ride, the guys said we had to take a test. While studying, the guys rented out the jet skis to another group!! So we would have to wait another hour for them to finish!!! read more

We rented a boat here today. Everyone we dealt with was super friendly and professional. The boat was great and the location was perfect. We saw so many Dolphins, a sea turtle, and sting rays. We will definitely be back! read more

Tried to redeem a LivingSocial deal for kayaking. I called the company's number and spoke with a man named Brady who I assume to be the owner. Brady seemed disgruntled by the request for a reservation for the same day and stated that he would wait for us to arrive. He questioned what time of day it was (not when we wanted our reservation, the literal time it was at that moment) and seemingly unhappily said he'd be there in an hour. We arrived at around 2:30pm, there was no Fun Unlimited representative there and we called back and Brady said that it was too late and they had already closed down for the day. We had been looking forward to this trip and our LivingSocial deal but we weren't able to redeem it. There are so many kayaking / water sports places in the area I would recommend staying far away from any place that can't even be bothered to serve customers. read more
