The guy giving us instructions did rush it a bit but answered any questions we had. They had a beautiful lab who was eager to help when our kiddo accidentally swung his googles in the water. We are all entitled to our own opinions, right? Well here's mine: Parking: 3 Location: 5 Decor/ambiance: 5 Customer Service: 5 Woody's is top notch! Woody's is my new 'go to' when I'm near John's Pass! This place is great for big groups. I called and spoke with Mike and he got us all booked in less than no time. He was curious, patient and super well mannered. I placed our reservation over the phone and that was it. When we showed up to the spot, we were all super excited. Parking across the street was $20 for the whole day so we paid that and conveniently walked across the street to the shop. If drivers are 30 years and younger you must take the boaters exam (additional $3). My party of 12 had a blast! We took 12 jetskis out on the coast and had free range to go anywhere we wanted within a set boundary. That boundary was so big we didn't cover it all in the 1 hour that we had the rentals. When we got back to the shop with our skis we had to minor incidents where one JetSki bumped into another. All of this happened because we had a guy fall in and we all had our ski's kinda close trying to grab this guy out of the water. With that being said, the damage report was rather extensive. One ski had almost $2000 of damage and the other roughly $800. Of coarse Mr. Woody assessed the damage and took money off to help my friends out so that is much appreciated. Tour or Instructional Jet Ski ride, Woody's is the place to go! We visited Woody's Watersports while on vacation. I've ridden a jet ski once; my wife and kids never have. I decided to sign us up for a tour since I thought it would be better than being left to our own devices and I knew it would be more comfortable for my wife. We ended up signing up Friday afternoon (while eating lunch at the Boardwalk Grill) for a Friday evening tour. Upon leaving, the weather was looking pretty grave. But much like every night, it was a 50/50 on which way the clouds were going to move. We decided to take the risk and headed out. Kevin (our tour guide) was in contact constantly with the owner. We probably only got about 10 minutes out before he got the call to head back in immediately; which we did, and good thing for that! The owner (Stephanie) met us upon return and immediately offered to refund or reschedule. Since we had a couple days left, we decided to reschedule. Both her and Kevin were very flexible, working with our limited time left on our vacation. We ended up getting back out there two days later and had a fantastic time! Kevin is a great tour guide, showed us all around, showed us famous houses, sunken boats, all kinds of things. There was even scheduled time for us to free ride, with him in eye sight, so if we needed anything he was right there. He was even a good sport when we sped by him because he looked too comfortable kicking his feet up and taking pictures for us :). My wife was super happy with the experience and my kids had a blast; So thank you Kevin and thank you to the Woody's staff! This was an absolutely amazing experience! I mean AMAZING!! The crew was great. We loaded up after a quick tutorial and were out for our hour tour. So they told us we might see fish and birds, but I wasn't prepared for the beautiful experience of being up close up to a beautiful family of dolphins. They were literally playing with me on my jet-ski, even a cute little baby that let me rub his head. It was a beautiful experience. We had a ball. (PART 1) This was the absolute worse experience ever. We were only out there for 10 minutes and our jet ski flipped. (Disclaimer: we were not going fast. And just made it to the open water) The ocean waves were ridiculously big and we were not given a warning or a heads up by any staff member about the intensity of the ocean waves. Or any "first-timer/newbie tips". We were given a 5 minute introduction on how to operate the jet ski and the opportunity to ask any questions. We asked questions we thought about and with what information was shared. However, having never been on a jet ski and this being a business that asks people if they have ever jetskied before I believed they would be beginner friendly and informative. I was very wrong!!! Once my sister and I pasted the slow zone and fishing zone, we were in the open water of the ocean we maintained the same speed because this was our first time. Not even five minutes later our jet ski flipped after we were hit by a wave. Our instructor failed to inform us of any particular way to navigate waves appropriate with operating the ski or we risk flipping. We try our best not to panic. We think about what our staff instructor Brian told us on how to flip the jet ski back over and attempt this maneuver multiple times. FAILED! My sister and I were not strong enough to fight the intense waves and flip over a jet ski (which we've never done before) and we struggled in the ocean for about 5 mins before my sister could signal to complete strangers on the beach that we were in distress and needed help (they had been watching apparently and noticed we might need help due to not flipping our ski back over, since falling off). It took them about 5-7 mins to get to us because they were swimming all the way from shore against the intense waves. With them helping greatly we managed to flip the jet ski over. It had been flipped upside down for at least 10+ mins at this point and was flooded. We were worried it would not start. It thankfully did with a warning button flashing and the inability to exceed 4mph, I assume due flooding, which is also something they did not warn us about. *eye roll* Fast forward, we're scared, tired, shaking and blind (due to me loosing my glasses in the water) we managed to get back to the ski business dock. We were met with question on why we were back so soon. To which we replied that we flipped, lost glasses, are soaked, scared and did not enjoy ourselves and wanted to get out of the water and off the jet ski immediately as we were not at any point having any amount of fun at all. Physically we were exhausted and mentally we were traumatized. We wanted to speak to the business manager about a partial refund and our dissatisfaction. However, we were only met with "sorry you didn't have a good time. We cannot offer you a refund though." The manager said we could have a credit to a future ride, but we do not live in florida and left the next day. Furthermore, why in the heck would I ever return to this place of business if my first experience lasted 20 mins, all of which were traumatizing and not fun at all. The refund is besides the point, I understand to a degree. Although we had a horrible, scary time, we did prepay and signed a waiver. The owner was also considerate enough to refund one jet ski due to another person not being able to make our trip. The most disheartening part of the experience aside from the flipping itself is the complete disregard and obvious lack of concern or safety for your customers. If you have never ridden a jetski I would not go here. They do nothing to keep you safe and provide you with 5 min knowledge of the jetski. They do not even have a staff member in the water to watch for safety of the customers constantly or infrequently. COMPLETE STRANGERS RECUSED US!!! If the beach was empty my sister and I would have been screwed. read more

Highly recommend Woodys. Me and my gf rented 2 jet skis for 1.5 hours. They charge 115 per jet ski for 1.5 hours. We went deep into the ocean and had a lot of fun. The licensing test is pretty straight forward and easy. I recommend just paying $3 to take the test once. But $9 is ok if you feel the need to take the exam more than once if you fail. read more

They were super helpful over the and even more pleasant in person. Laid back and professional. They have their process down which made check in super easy and quick. I wish I would have taken more pics at the main dockside office but my son and I were just too excited! The crew here were absolutely AWESOME and soooo super chill! Loved the vibe! Check in was quick and super friendly. There's little cubbies you can store your stuff in while jump the waves!! I had a reservation for 1030am but they emailed after a glitch in the system and asked if I could move it to 1130 which was no problem at all (it's Saturday and it's chill time right?). The crew must have thanked me 50 times for being flexible with the time change up which was no issue at all with me . Crew gave a quick brief on where to go . There's a clock on the jet ski so you know when to be back. There's also a little cubby to put your phone in on the ski. The jet ski we were on ran amazing and no issues!!! We rented 2 jet skis from this establishment. The owner was amazingly kind and generous in how he ran his family-owned business as he made every accommodation to meet our changing plans that came abruptly. It was one of our best experiences in jetski rental as for my 16 years got to experience his first jet ski. Unfortunately, he had difficulty in coming into the dock and hit a post and cause minor damage. The owner was gracious and took a pic and sent it off to his repair guy. This was in real-time and he showed me the dialogue with his repair man. The damage was only $50 which surprised both me and the owner and I paid the damage that we caused. It was water under the bridge for us both and the owner and family-run an impeccable business which is why I see they are one of the best places to rent in this area. This was a very pleasant experience. It is a family owned business with a wife (whose father I think owns it) and husband team. Their two sons are involved and their younger daughter seems to linger around too. Their chocolate lab, Bradley, is also in on the action. He's not much help though and clearly isn't earning his keep. Sits around and sleeps all day. They also have two employees who are of no relation. Each and everyone there was very friendly and welcoming. I sat there for a little over an hour waiting for my son and husband to finish and they didn't seem bothered by my presence at all. The children interacted with my daughter and kept her entertained and the two boys endured my sons myriad of random, irrelevant questions. You can tell their children are very used to people and are very equipped socially. I thought their pricing was pretty fair and their location is great. My husband said the waves were a decent size and he had a lot of fun on his hour long ride. They provided a little box for his phone and license and a wet-suit which all came with the price of the rental. Another thing to add is that they don't hold any type of deposit, they just keep a credit card on file just in case you damage anything, which seems difficult to do unless you're just insanely reckless. Great location. Great people. We will definitely come back on our next Florida trip. I highly recommend them. read more

Such an awesome experience. My first time riding a jetski and right away got to see 5 dolphins! I would have given 5 stars if I knew what costs I was expecting. Each PWC driver is required to have taken a test, however you can do it online or at Woody's. I was linked to a test online and figured taking that one. I highly encourage taking the test at Woody's as it will save you heaps of time and wasting 7 dollars. If I was informed about the costs and effort upfront, I would've given 5 stars. read more

Outside of their professionalism, this is the place to rent. The most reasonable on the dock. They do not require an expensive hold on your card. Their minimum charge is one hour. When you come bring your whole family. The experience of being on the water is awesome, but being on the water and seeing dolphins right underneath you is an undescribable experience. I'm not one to write many reviews, but Woody's was awesome. There are many places to rent jet skis from in the area, but Woody's had the best reviews, and now I know why. Four of us rented 3 jet skis from Woody's on August 12, 2021 and had such a fantastic time, my daughter and her boyfriend rented a jet ski the next day as well. The online booking process and online waivers were straightforward and quick, upon arrival, all we had to do was show our IDs and credit card and we were headed to the dock to get fitted for life jackets and to be oriented on the machines. Tyler was great, he showed us the machines, which were all nearly new, told us how and where to operate them and we were off to the Gulf in now time. The riding area is huge... about 1.5 miles south of the pass and 3.5 miles north of the pass, it was easy to find space to operate away from the other jet skis. All 3 machines operated flawlessly, and they were fast. If you don't get an adrenaline rush... something is wrong with you. Returning to the dock was simple as well. We just idled around in the pass until they were ready for us and brought us in one by one right to the stairs on the dock and we were done for the day. They had cubbies to keep your belongings in as well as secure storage behind the desk if you wanted to leave your phone or wallet behind. We will definitely rent from Woody's the next time we are in Madeira Beach. Thanks y'all for a great time! read more

Their mascot, Odi (I think is his name) is adorable. A black lab that is friendly and entertaining as he jumps in the water and chases minnows.
