I placed an order on April 18 and received a notification that my order was received and updates were to come when the order cleared my card. After about 10 days I checked and the pending order on my card disappeared without notice (the card is fine, I use it daily). I called about the order and received a text back that they would take a look. It's now been 16 days since they said that and I have followed up multiple times and haven't heard back. What a waste of time. I recommended this place to a friend because after seeing the positive reviews on here and Yelp I was sure the experience would be positive but don't be fooled. They are extremely uncommunicative.

When I contacted Stargel to schedule the Periodic Maintenance on our 1-year old allegedly refurbished (by them) copier/scanner/printer, they quoted nearly $4,000, which is only $1500-$1800 less than the actual purchase price of 1 year ago. Really? Isn't that like the Dodge dealership saying the periodic maintenance on my truck is 75% of the purchase price, because the engine and transmission have to be replaced after a year? Makes no sense. We had been assured prior to purchase that all moving parts had been replaced and that the machine would work like new. It begs the questions: what kind of shoddy parts did they use in the rebuild that all of the parts have to be replaced after only a year of use by a small company? Or was the rebuild not done as advertised? When we upgraded/updated to this copier/scanner/printer last year, we gathered quotes and ultimately narrowed them all down to two. Our final decision hinged on what we thought was a strong, established relationship of 10+ years with Stargel. To our regret, we chose their quote above their competitor's. During this experience, we also learned one of their best techs has left Stargel after many years with the company. Could this be another warning sign of a disintegrating corporate attitude both within the company and without? In short, it seems that if you do not want or are not able to pay their exorbitant monthly maintenance contract, their response is simple - pay for the machine all over again less a small percentage when maintenance is all that is actually needed, not a full rebuild. Apparently, in their minds, customer loyalty goes one way - from the customer to them, and there better be plenty of customer $$$ to go with it.

They have offices in Houston, so I don't have to worry about a bad over-seas connection or a hard to understand accent. They know what I order regularly and contact me if there is a special deal on something that I regularly order, like calendars for the following year.
