One of the best things is that they offer free consultations for new customers where they come over to your house and meet you and your pet. Most companies charge for this initial visit. The pricing was not at all inconsistent and was very fair based on some comparisons I did before hiring them. $13 for weekdays, $18 for weekends, and $25 for holidays. Additionally, they didn't change who was coming to our house each time. It was always Jen and she did a fantastic job. Milo definitely got to know her and felt comfortable with her. The first time we left him he somehow locked himself in our room and pooped on our bed. Jen called us right away and even tried to clean it up as best she could. Ever since they've been consistently available to us, even at short notice and after every round of visits Jen would leave us a note telling us how Milo behaved. Donna works the business end of things and was always very quick to respond by email. They are flexible with the payment too. You can pay by credit card online or they can invoice you afterwards and you can send them a check. Now we're moving to the North Shore and I'm totally going to miss Heads and Tails! A few hours later I called to see if she was almost done so I could head over. The owner answered and immediately put me on hold. She was talking to a customer that was there for a good 5 minutes and eventually forgot she had placed me on hold. I could hear EVERYTHING and after the customer left and she was alone with the dogs, I heard her screaming and yelling at my puppy/another dog to "SHUT THE F*** UP" and to "STOP" over and over again. I could hear my puppy/other dogs crying and whimpering. It was awful and eye opening! What you see in these 5 star reviews are clearly not a reflection of what goes on behind closed doors. If she's that verbally abusive to the dogs in her care, who's to say she isn't physically abusive as well??? I picked my puppy up, walked away and never looked back. NEVER AGAIN!

I was shocked that there were not many other daycares in Peabody I could find. But its OK! Lucky Dogs is reasonably priced, espesh if you buy a 30-pack of visits, comes to about $25 per visit. They also provide the services during daycare. I've gotten her a bath a couple times. She comes out with a pretty bow and smelling/looking/feeling fresh every time. I was nervous in the beginning because she was not eating her lunch every day, but then i realized its just because she didn't want to stop playing with her friends! The webcams are the best part, I watch her all day and see how fun she has with her pals. And they always have some fun backdrop to take cute seasonal pics of the dogs. The only thing stopping me from giving a full 5 stars is the smell. The dogs stay in the same room all day, so there is no outside to go to the bathroom (this is actually somewhat confusing for the dogs too since they are not allowed to do this at home!) I think they need more ventilation or something. My dog comes home everyday smelling like urine. Not sure if it gets better in the summer time, we started going around September. But overall, great place to send your pup to tire them out!
