Nice varied items from rarer older pieces to cute items that are reasonably priced. The layout was open and easy to navigate. They have furniture, decors, kitchenware, clothes, books, toys, etc. Diffusers in many parts of the store were somewhat helpful with the smell.

Furbish supports local animal shelters, and that alone is reason enough for me to patronize them. I've brought many donations here this year as well, and I much prefer dropping off my unwanted but still in good condition items to Furbish over national chains like Goodwill. They also host cat adoption events with local humane groups. Check their instagram for the schedule.

I think Furbish thrift is one of my new favorite thrift stores in the rva area! I recently went after a friend recommended it to me and my partner. They said the funds support local animal shelters so I didn't need any more encouragement that I had to visit. The store had a huge variety of things which included clothes, furniture, art, kitchen glassware, toys, books, and a butter churn!! (see image below) We were specifically in the market for a new dresser and a comfy accent chair for the living room and we found exactly that and (of course) a few more things- a couple books, clothes, and an etch-a-sketch! The prices are also super reasonable. I visited a few thrift shops that Saturday and Furbish was on the lower end of the price spectrum for richmond! The delivery price was also super reasonable at 40 flat fee for as many items as you like. They said it can take a week or two, so I wouldn't count on it if you are in a rush if but I'm happy it's a service they offer. I also got a nice surprise by running into rva yelp community manager Lena M, who is also an avid thrifter!

Furbish is a cool place with a cool mission- they donate to a ton of local animal rescues and shelters, and even have a pet food pantry outside their store, free of charge! I absolutely love that and it makes me more confident about shopping here. Their prices are pretty fair, especially for clothing/shoes and misc items. Furniture is hit or miss, but most antique/thrift shops tend that way. They did have a small pride flag above their register, which always makes me feel more comfortable :) The staff were really nice and helpful, and they complimented the items we bought too. We didn't have a lot of time to spend here but I like the vibes and will be back!

They are broken into different sections so you can take your time and explore various types of items that you would look for in a thrifting environment. The staff will greet you with a smile and ask is there anything they can help you with. They were very friendly, even though I arrived about 15 minutes before they closed. At the time that I had to look around, I saw so many different things. There was a section that had books and magazines, and I thought that was very nice. You can start your library with vintage books and have a wonderful feel that you have some great material in your library. I saw a different furniture pieces, and they were in great shape, and the prices seem to be very reasonable. I did not take a lot of time to look around at all of the nooks and crannies, but I really had a great time seeing what was available. If you're ever in the area, it is worth stopping by redemption, thrift and seeing what they have. I did not ask what the rotation period was but I'm sure if you called them the friendly staff would be able to provide you with an answer that will satisfy your needs.

For those unfamiliar with the process, everything it the same price, with that price going down each day until the store replenishes during the following weekly cycle. The art is always knowing which items are worth paying the price on the first day and which will likely persist later in the week so you can snag them on a cheaper day. I stopped by on a Saturday and got a $45 bag of specialty protein powder, a couple good things worth $30 a piece to sell on eBay, and some top-notch grooming products, each for only $7. This particular store has some great items, mostly Amazon returns though I did see some other items that imply there might also be undeliverable mail or other remainder resales. While many items are boxed, they have a place in the store where they will open the boxes for you to see if it's something you'll want before you buy. Knowing what day to go depends on what you're looking for: if you want to get good electronics or nice housewares for reasonable prices, going the first day of the cycle (Friday) is your best bet. If you are just casually looking for good deals, I recommend Monday or Tuesday since items are only a few bucks and you're almost certain to find something that piques your interest. I have rarely had much success on the final pre-reloading day, though you can always give it a shot to see if something catches your eye. Service was good and check-out was very fast, the joys of everything being the same price. Lots of lot parking, and the store was generally clean too, which is nice since stores of this nature can get messy quickly. All that said, this isn't a Target where you're going to get the perfect item right away, it's more of a treasure hunt: you may find an amazing deal, you may leave empty-handed. Go into it with an adventurous spirit and you're sure to have a great time! Overall: 5 out of 5 stars. ----- Pros: - Excellent selection of items and great deals. - Lots of parking in the lot. - Store is quite clean. - Good/quick check-out service. Cons: - None, though I always tell people: if you hate a bargain hunt, don't come to a bargain store and expect anything different. If you like some retail adventure, this is worth a stop for sure!
