    Callie the Calico girl

I am truly grateful for Dr Mattick and her compassionate care with helping our beautiful Callie cross to the rainbow Bridge. she did not make us feel hurried or rushed and let us spend the time we needed with Callie before and after. During a heart breaking time she brought a gentle kindness, that we so very much needed. Thank you so very much!

Tender Touch Veterinary Hospital was incredibly helpful during such a difficult time. I was able to call and get pricing information over the phone, which made the process much easier. The drop-off was quick and straightforward, and they contacted me within a week or so to let me know everything was ready. When I went in to pick up, the package provided several meaningful keepsakes, including a nose print, paw print stamp, some of her fur, a clay paw imprint, and her urn (I chose the biodegradable option). The pricing was very reasonable, and now I have beautiful mementos to remember Pepper by. I'm grateful for the care and compassion they showed during one of the hardest moments a pet owner can experience.

When I got to my appointment, the person at the front desk did not know what was going on. They said they can't find my appointment. This is the same person I spoke to on the phone on Monday and made the appointment with. They did not apologize for their mistake. They wanted to schedule me to come in at a later date. I am a busy single-dog mom and made time out of my schedule to bring my dog in during my appointment. Their mistake has inconvenienced me and the person did not apologize at all. First impressions are important, and this is a huge disappointment because I was looking forward to coming to this Vet since it has so many positive reviews.

They are efficient, helpful, and seem to really enjoy animals (and people). They are really good with our animals. We had just adopted 2 kittens, and took them in for a checkup, and then did a followup appointment. But here's what sets these folks apart from some of the other places we've used in the past. I called to set up a one-year appointment for April, since the cats would be one year old then. But then they asked me a few questions, and suggested that instead we should schedule the appointment for July, since that's when their annual shots would be due, and avoid paying for an extra appointment. Imagine! Doing what's best for us and the cats instead of just piling on unnecessary appointment so they can make some extra money. We've had a series of vets over the years for previous cats and dogs, and were never really happy with the service. SO glad we finally found a great vet.

After combing through countless reviews of Dr. Matt Slentz, we scheduled an appointment with him this morning for our puppy's (Leo) final puppy visit and vaccinations. Dr. Matt exceeded our expectations. He has wonderful bedside manner, is incredibly informative, and--just as other reviewers mentioned--remarkably generous with his time. He made sure all of our questions were answered and even covered general puppy FAQs we didn't know to ask. His delivery was straightforward and upfront, providing honest professional opinions without sugarcoating, which we truly appreciated. During the visit, our puppy had an accident in the exam room. Without hesitation, Dr. Matt immediately grabbed paper towels and cleaned it himself, without gloves, while the veterinary assistant stood by. That moment spoke volumes--demonstrating genuine care, humility, and a willingness to step in without concern for appearances. He also noted that hand nibbling (as distinct from biting) is consistent with normal puppy developmental behavior and allowed our puppy to nibble on him during the exam, which was reassuring to observe. It is evident that both Dr. Miller and Dr. Matt hold their veterinary oath in the highest regard. Knowing we can trust them brings immense peace of mind when it comes to our puppy's care. This practice should have been a five-star experience based on Dr. Miller, Dr. Matt, and the front desk staff alone. Unfortunately, a **detached, impersonal, and indifferent interaction with Madden--marked by a lack of empathy and engagement--**overshadowed what they truly deserved.

I have had very disappointing experiences regarding money over the last three years. Three separate occasions. My dog needed some dental work and we were told in writing what the visit would cost. Not an estimate, it was a solid quote. We agreed to do the dental work. Guess what, the amount ended up being $700 more than our rock solid quote. Last year we're taking the dogs for their yearly visit, vaccines, lab work, etc. Again we were given an amount in writing of $323. When we got there, the doctor came in, examined the two dogs, then told us what would be done to them on that visit, and left. The work they intended to do was exactly the same as the quoted list I had been given two days earlier. The vet tech came in to get the dogs and handed me the list with prices. There was a $405 difference. Our last visit was yesterday, 6/24/26. Same experience yesterday. Written list of services, with prices from three days ago. I hand the the list when the tech comes in and told him that these were the services I was authorizing them to do. Again, $307 difference. I speak to the manger and she just listens, smiles and says, "we will attempt to do better in the future ". Nothing else, just we will try to do better. We were also told the Flea and Tick medicine would be $47 per dose, for each of our two dogs. We get there, the exact same medicine was $59.28 per dose. We are not going back. What is disappointing is that we have been going there for 11 years. No issues until three years ago. What happened? Now we are faced with finding a new vet, starting completely over. My dogs will need the flea and tick medicine in less than thirty days, and we do not have a prescription. We are out the money we spent yesterday, our dogs still do not have all of there vaccines because of their fraudulent quote. We will have to pay again at the new vet for an exam that we already paid for at the old vet, and they will be late on their flea and tick medication until I can get a prescription from another vet. I cannot express our disappointment, and their unwillingness to try and keep us a customer. After three separate visits, nothing except we will try and go better.

My beloved Mikey passed away and I was looking for the perfect place that provided cremation…read moreservices that met several of my criteria. It was actually pretty tough to find but I'm very very grateful to the Chambers Creek Pet Memorial Park team. I wanted to ensure people who were looking for the service in this area knew because it was a tremendous help to me and I'd also like to share my experience in the hopes that it helps. Specifically Pamela and Scott were so so kind and patient with us and it was much appreciated. I needed and was looking for, 1. Private, individual cremation with a system that assured us there would be no mix up - Yes, they ONLY do private cremations with metal ID tags they use once 2. Delivering our baby ourselves if possible - Yes 3. Viewing of our baby going in if possible - Yes, this was very unusual I only found one other place in Seattle that allows this 4. Waiting the duration of the cremation if possible - We could have but it's very long and not recommended, we did not end up doing this 5. Reasonable, timely return of our baby, NOT through the vet or the mail - One of the most important factors, the majority of places send the ashes to your vet or they MAIL to your home which is unimaginable. I would never put Mikey in the incompetent hands of USPS or whoever, I find this process despicable. The majority of places also take 3-10 days to return your beloved to you which again was unimaginable for me. Instead Chambers Creek allowed us to pick up in person from them directly and we did so in less than 24 hours. My husband found their website which was really helpful and I called the day before to confirm availability and pricing which was more than reasonable. The address that is listed on their website actually takes you to the main New Tacoma Cemetery which is for people but there is a smaller building attached to it with a little fire hydrant in front that is the pet section. They have a selection of urns/memorials/headstones/coffins if you'd like to choose one in their small office. We sat down with Pamela as she kindly filled out the forms for us, had me sign, and take care of payment. We were then introduced to Scott who we followed in our car to the cemetery/buildings across the street. They warned us the pet crematorium which is completely separate and pet specific had a warehouse feel just in case we were alarmed. It is like a warehouse but has American flags and a metal box that is the crematorium, the setting didn't bother me. Scott explained the process and we were allowed to gently place Mikey with his private ID marker so he wouldn't be mixed up with someone else by any chance. At any rate, this place generally only has one pet at a time so there's very little chance to begin with. Scott was very patient and respectful while our family was incredibly upset,we never felt rushed but rather impressed and at peace and we're grateful. We stayed until the main light came on, at 4.5 pounds they expected Mikey to be done in around 3 hours, it takes more time to cool and Scott to personally sweep up the ashes. He also asked if we'd like his ashes finely powdered or not and we asked for finely powered. I've been through this earlier this year with family and they treated Mikey just as respectfully as he were a beloved human. We were able to personally pick up Mikey from Scott in less than 24 hours and brought him home. We're waiting to purchase a personalized urn so we let them know it's OK that Mikey comes home in a bag to us as it's' a temporary arrangement and his baggy was tied with the ID tag that went in with him. Overall, I know I was picky and asked for a lot and am incredibly grateful to Pamela and Scott and this business for their kindness, patience, empathy, and accommodating nature. Mikey gave me the purest unconditional love that I'm sure I'll never experience again, for 16 marvelous years, and we were able to send him off on his final journey in the way we wanted and thought was the best for him. For this, I'll be eternally grateful to this team, I highly recommend them for pet cremation services.
