When I went in to pick up, the package provided several meaningful keepsakes, including a nose print, paw print stamp, some of her fur, a clay paw imprint, and her urn (I chose the biodegradable option). The pricing was very reasonable, and now I have beautiful mementos to remember Pepper by. On Monday I called this Vet and made an appointment for my dog to come in. They scheduled me for 10am on Wednesday. When I got to my appointment, the person at the front desk did not know what was going on. They said they can't find my appointment. This is the same person I spoke to on the phone on Monday and made the appointment with. They did not apologize for their mistake. They wanted to schedule me to come in at a later date. I am a busy single-dog mom and made time out of my schedule to bring my dog in during my appointment. Their mistake has inconvenienced me and the person did not apologize at all. I love Dr. Sadhanala! She and her team are amazing with the animals, compassIonate and handle them gently. My cat gets aggressive at the vet. The staff avoids sedating her, they approach cautiously and yet are gentle with handling her. They're very thorough with exams. I brought my cat in for overgrooming. It's been a chronic issue with her and other vets just said it was anxiety and prescribed antibiotic ointment for her sores and sent us home. Dr. Sadhanala was the first to probe further and suggest doing a UA since it could potentially be bladder problems. Turned out my cat had urinary crystals! It was painful and uncomfortable and causing her to lick her belly raw that I had to occasionally put the e-collar on her. Now she's on a prescription diet and we've never had a problem with overgrooming for over a year now. I've moved out of state but loved going to Tender Touch. Extremely disappointed in the lack of empathy displayed by this office over multiple years and interactions. From being told that we were not able to get an exception to receive prescription cat food during the early days of the COVID-19 pandemic, to our cat being diagnosed with cancer (not by their office), this place is unprofessional, unreliable, and uninterested in providing anything but basic care to our cat. When he needed emergency surgery for a tumor in his colon, the X-ray process took over 18 hours even when our cat was passing a large amount of blood in his stool. Only when I called to request it be expedited, and was the charged $50, did they finally call us back within 30 minutes with the results recommending we take him to the ER ASAP. Appalling. In our latest interaction, our cat appears to be having symptoms of urinary crystal blockage, which can be extremely severe. He has had surgery in the past for this, so we are familiar with the symptoms. We have not received a call back from this office for over 18 hours, even after raising multiple times due to our cat not urinating for over a day. Meanwhile, we went to another place who saw him, diagnosed the issue, provided care, and even sent us home without a bill. Please learn from our mistake of going here for years and take your pets elsewhere if you want to receive care beyond annual exams. If even one person reading this doesn't go to Tender Touch, I'll feel better. You'll save yourself some seriously frustrating calls with the front desk, who fly off the handle and become confrontational at a moments notice (particularly Taylor). Our cat had an infection and got an open wound when his gland ruptured. We tried to get into our normal vet, but their appointments were 1-2 weeks out. We called around to 8-10 different places and no one had time to see us or help us. We called Tender Touch and they were able to get us in within 24 hours and take care of him. He had a ruptured anal gland which needed surgery. They walked through everything with us, treatment, and post treatment. They also set up appointments to check in with him and also requested we send them pictures to make sure he was healing well. They even took care to NOT charge us for a quick follow-up when our cat pulled his drain out a day earlier than planned by himself. The doctor was very kind and took care of our little guy when no one else had the time. They really cared about him and made time to see him in an emergency. read more

Couldn't be happier with these fine folks at Tender Touch. I live in the north end of Seattle, and this place is worth the drive in my opinion. Previous Vet traumatized my dog where he was always scared. However, my dog always leaves Tender Touch happy as can be... they must be drugging him back in the exam room or something. :) But seriously, I highly recommend this place. Jax began not feeling great a few days ago- the usual active, hungry, funny dog of ours began not eating, drinking, or sleeping a few days ago. We noticed a lump at the left side of his tail base, so called many vets, emergency rooms, and pet hospitals, and every single one was "at capacity," or short staffed. Every couple hours became worse, and for 3 days, I continued to call around for an appt, with no success. I decided to try tender touch once more today, even though they only were open half day today, asking if there is ANY chance of bringing Jax in at all today. They were able to clear a 9am the following day, but when I expressed my concern, and anxiety, the person I was speaking to on the phone said she can go ahead and talk to the dr to see if there's ANYTHING they could do, and call me back. I didn't think I'd hear back, as every other place I called barely stayed on the phone long enough for me to get a word in before they'd hang up. Tender touch called back and said that we could bring Jax in right away for the dr to examine him, and at least give him meds to get though until tomorrow, as they wouldn't be able to do any further treatment/surgery today. We were desperate, as Jax was worse today, and was only getting worse as the day went on. My husband took Jax in, and within 30 minutes my husband called to let me know the vet examined him, and he had a huge abscess...... she drained it, gave him an injection of antibiotics, did bloodwork, gave him fluids, monitored his fever, and sent him home with oral antibiotics, which she cut and quartered each pill to make it easier for us to give to him. We can't put into words how grateful we are to for him in today. His lab results ended up showing how severe his infection was, and don't know what we would've done had she not allowed us to bring him in today, AND taken the many more steps to get him healthy and resting again. I can't describe the discouragement, feeling of defeat, and pure fear not being able to find a vet available the last three days! We will only be taking him back to Tender Touch from now on! I have been taking my cat to Tender Touch since 2018. I would describe the experience as hit and miss: they were great, except when they weren't. Pros: For routine/scheduled care, Dr. Sadhanala is awesome, thorough, and definitely a great clinician. Several techs were incredibly helpful and patient. The clinic experience is clean, professional, and very medically competent. Test results are explained clearly when they arrive, as well as treatment options. Cons: Many front desk staff seem consistently stressed out and annoyed, and sometimes unsure. Over the years a few would give me info that the next person would correct. Their overall communication was not compassionate or reliable in critical situations, and the amount of advocating for communication that we had to do during an emergency was disappointing. I'm sure there are good reasons for all issues -- office culture, covid-stress, caseload, staff shortages, busy days, etc. -- and consider myself pretty understanding towards vets and their staff. This is an incredibly difficult line of work to be in. But after a lot of patience, I was just left feeling like they just couldn't get the critical communication part down, and it was affecting my pet's care. 1. We were waiting on a test result, told it would take about 24hrs. After symptoms worsened (and knowing from our visit that a possibility was cancer), we called again the next morning. We were told we just needed to wait that 24hr period. Then we thought to specifically ask if anything could be done to expedite -- and were told yes, for $50. We did that, got a call back promptly, and were directed to take him into the ER as quickly as possible. Tender Touch staff knowing how critical this situation might be and not offering the info that expediting was an option until we asked a targeted question was super strange, and not compassionate or professional. A simple "if his behavior worsens or he stops eating, we have the option to expedite these results for an additional fee, please keep us posted if you'd like to go that route" initially, or even mentioning it when we called again? 2. Dr. Sadhanala provided an immediate referral to an emergency/specialist following that result. I then spoke with someone else on the staff to facilitate the transfer, who said they would get back to me with where to go based on who had space. I didn't hear back for an hour or so, and called back. They said they hadn't been able to find one yet. I called the closest ER/specialist vets who told me they could have room if they get a referral. I told this to Tender Touch, and asked if they'd tried that ER, which they hadn't. I asked them try that one, they called them right away, and he was accepted immediately. The fact that the closest location, the first one I called, had room for him with their referral did not make me feel like this super serious situation was actually being taken care of by their team. 3. I was left feeling a little weird about all that, but wasn't going to make any switch because the cat ended up with a terminal diagnosis and specialists for the critical stuff, and I figured they are more reliable for routine care. Later on, I needed to speak with them about a routine test result. I called and asked to speak with Dr. Sadhanala about it. I was told I would get a callback. Following some worrisome symptoms, the next day I called again updating the front desk on the changes. I asked if they could do a quick palpation/check to rule out a dangerous possibility (urinary block). I was told they would have to check and call me back, they agreed that the block issue was a high risk and said they would check with the doctor more quickly on that. Wanting to get this seen ASAP and with the next day being a Sunday (offices closed), I finally realized this wasn't working. I called another reputable small business vet in the area who had me hold for 45 seconds while they asked a doctor. I brought him in right away, and they did the check inbetween other appointments, in 10mins. I did get a call back from a staff member at Tender Touch 2 hours after I called the second day. 4. They do a great job with "check in" calls in the mornings, to follow up on basic care and changes -- again, scheduled stuff. When they called me to check in after the transfer and I had sad news, the person I spoke with seemed incredibly unsure and somewhat awkward about how to respond. In a type of situation where every other vet office I've ever dealt with has been calm, kind, and compassionate, the call with Tender Touch ended weirdly. I have seen reviews about them being super responsive and accommodating. In my experience, that was the case sometimes. It ended up being an incredible gamble, and inconsistent when it mattered most. Maybe they are best with dogs, or routine and complementary care. I hope whatever it is can be addressed as the clinic grows. In the meantime I would recommend taking your pets elsewhere. read more

Our dog has allergy problem. We had established care at this vet and at first we were happy with the service provided. Our dog was receiving an injection every couple of months. Once we called with an emergency saying that our dog had severe allergic reaction with swelling of the eyelids and if we could step by for the injection as It always took less than 5 minutes. We were told that there is no place that day. Nevertheless we drove there asap to try our luck. It was closed before official closing time. We felt deeply disappointed especially that our dog was in urgent need. We thankfully found an emergency clinic and saved our puppy from a severe trauma. 1 star review may seem exaggerated, as there are many people happy with this clinic. Yet we were ignored, when in need. We didn't even receive a follow up call concerning our dog's health. read more

For general consultations and vaccinations, this clinic has been generally excellent. When we got our got our puppy from the breeder and first brought our puppy in at 5 months of age, her blood work was "all upside down" according to the nurse. Still, Dr. Sadhanala insisted that spaying was the best thing to do at 6 months. After our dog grew much bigger than expected and developed weak teeth (eroded enamel), we discovered that spaying before the first period can lead to increased body size and the health complications (e.g., increased risk of cancer) that she seemed to tell us early spaying would prevent against. Since the 1990s, we discovered only recently, veterinary science has shown that early spaying leads to higher risk for cancer and other diseases. Dr. Sadhanala's confident demeanor made us trust her instead. After we wanted to discuss this with Dr. Sadhanala, the clinic refused to further treat our dog, even for simple things like bloodwork. It seems I cannot recommend this clinic. read more

I went to them to get prescription medicine for fleas that I discovered unexpectedly quite early during the year on my pets. Because they were charging double what a reputable, licensed Vet-VIPPS accredited online pharmacy was charging (1800petmeds) , I opted to get a prescription instead. However I later found out that I was required to physically mail prescription given to me to 1800petmeds which was not an option given that I had a flea emergency. (However a veterinarian was allowed to fax the prescription, or even give a verbal confirmation over the phone, and 1800petmeds was willing to overnight me the flea treatment at no charge) So when 1800petmeds contacted Tender Touch Small Animal Hospital to verbally confirm the prescription, they refused even though per State law WAC 246-933-350 "if requested by the client, the veterinarian must call or send the prescription by electronic means to any pharmacy of the client's choosing" I never had this problem with any other vet clinics I've had to deal before and being asked to pay double or have to delay my flea treatment by having to mail my prescription is unacceptable! Update 1 Was just in a phone call with Lorelei Walker Program manager with the Veterinary Board of Governors and she confirmed that per the rules adopted last July this clinic is breaking the law by refusing to confirm my prescription with 1800petmeds Update 2 After a 3-way call with Lorelei Walker they still refused to authorize my prescription to 1800petmeds, claiming that they must not comply with a portion of the law quoted above, I filed a complaint with Washington State Department of Health to compel them to comply with the law. read more

We came in yesterday with our kitty Meatloaf. He was in bad shape and how relieved we were when we got there! We were greeted promptly by the doctor and shown to a room. Maggie was so sweet and caring towards Meatloaf that it really put him at ease and myself. My husband was nervous regardless but was happy to see how caring everyone was that we encountered. Dr. S is amazing! I've never seen Meatloaf instantly warm up to a doctor. Usually he's a nervous wreck and meows the whole appointment. But not this time. Dr. S took such great affection and care to him and by the time we got home, my Meatloaf was acting somewhat normal and by this morning he is almost fully normal. Just an "okay" medical (keyword) facility. We started going there when our puppy was 8 weeks old, he is now almost 6 months. The first couple visits, lots of "oooooo...ohhhh....ahhhhh....so cute" from the staff members; then it became a "reminder calls" only. Between vaccinations and picking up flea, heart worm medications, we have gone there about 8-10 times to date and only saw the doctor twice (the 1st visit and the rabies vaccine - which she literally only come in to just give the shot and left). One of the staff called to remind me (again!) to schedule my pup's neutering appointment and flea medications. The doctor had switched us from revolution to Trifexis and she doesn't seems to know the basic when I asked her some questions about the medication. Not sure if she actually hung up on me or lost phone connection, although you would think they will call back if phone call was disconnected. Also, had to tell them (again!) that their own doctor told us to wait till 1 year to neuter the puppy and to PLEASE update their reminders. So much for internal communications? read more

We have always had 3 dogs as our 3 children grew up, so we have had several dogs, needless to say. I have been here twice now, and I am very impressed with the physical exam that my Beagle got today. It's the most thorough exam I've ever seen. We were concerned about a lump on her, and we're extra careful right now, because one of our other dogs had a huge tumor removed in March. He's doing great now. Anyway, the vet gave a thorough physical exam and said that the lump is one of those fatty lumps that dogs get, and she was very reassuring. The office is very clean and nice, the staff is also very knowledgeable, and we've been very happy with our 2 visits here. Our first exam was when our German Shepherd had a lump too, and hers was a cyst. Holly is usually leery of veterinarians, but the vet took off her white coat, made another entrance, and Holly was as happy as can be. They also give a reminder call about the upcoming appointment, and they call the day after to check on how your pet is doing. They do not nickel and dime you like some of the veterinarians do. I will certainly be coming back and use this as my pet's veterinary clinic for the future. read more
