I grew up eating fabulous homemade sausage. Furnari is the closest to my family's recipe. All are fabulous.

We stopped in here while visiting family to see what kind of options they had. We're always on the hunt for good quality meats. While they're primarily known for processing game, I'm glad we stopped in. What stood out to us: 1. Prices are extremely reasonable. $7/lb for Tri-tip and that isn't even a sale price. We pay atleast $12.99/lb usually. They also had organic chicken (although it wasn't labeled organic, they said it is) for $1.50-5/lb depending on the cut. 2. When asking what's popular, the owners mentioned the sausages are a hit with the locals. They make them all in house. I was particularly excited to hear that the sun dried tomatoes in the tomato basil sausage and the jalapeños in the jalapeño cheese sausage were grown in their garden out back. It doesn't get much more fresh and local than that! While we didn't try the chorizo this time, they also noted that it's a popular option and they have people purchase it in bulk to use at restaurants. One thing I would note is that it seems like their retail meats are sourced from a number of places . They have some stuff that they just bought commercially, some stuff that is from other fairly local farms, and some things that are processed right there in house. Sourcing matters to you? Be sure to have a conversation about it with them, Roger there they can tell you everything. One of the owners and her son spent a lot of time with us. Also note that if you spend about $200 or more they'll give you a flat discount off the top! We spent just over $200, and came out with 3 heaping grocery bags of meat to fill the freezer! You can't get that much bang for your buck at the grocery store.

We visited Redding again and decided to stop by their shop. The service was great and friendly. They have the product refrigerated for those of us that want to consume right away or refrigerated them up to three months. They also have the vacuum bags version that can be kept in the freezer for up to a year. I will definitely go back and buy more while in town. The beef taste natural and just the right amount of salt. They also ship through their website. I found this convenient as we don't live in the area. Highly recommended.

It's Jerky, located right here in beautiful Redding, California, is owned and operated by a great…read moreman named Dustin. This company is the real deal. Their jerky is fresh, made and delivered fast, and never sits around in storage waiting to be shipped. Dustin currently distributes to over 40,000 stores, including about 67 Costco locations, and continues to expand while still keeping his roots in the community. What's even more impressive is his generosity, donating hundreds of thousands of dollars to local causes, schools, Little Leagues, and kids fighting cancer. As for the product itself? Absolutely amazing. My personal favorites are the teriyaki beef sticks and the honey pepper beef jerky, but honestly, every flavor is great, from pepper to habanero. It really comes down to personal taste. You can grab It's Jerky right from the manufacturing plant in Redding, or find it at Costco, Safeway, and many other retailers. And if you ever get the chance, definitely visit the plant. Dustin was kind enough to get approval from the federal USDA inspector (who's on-site daily) for me and two friends to tour the facility where this delicious jerky is made. It was an awesome experience and shows just how transparent and proud they are of their quality. Do yourself a favor and try It's Jerky. You'll taste the difference, and you'll be supporting a company that gives back in a big way.
