Not to…read moreworry, I called Dr Earnest's Office and was greeted with genuine care and concern for my situation. I had an appointment with Dr Earnest within 2 1/2 hrs and I was good to go! Fantastic dental practice with top notch staff and Dr. Earnest is as friendly and skilled as they come! Thank you for taking care of a Michigander!!

Edited to add: Dr. David Earnest is no longer part of the practice, so all the good reviews he got…read moreno longer apply to the current practice. The hygienists are nice, but the overall practice seems corrupt and not concerned about the best interests of patients. First, they tell you need (unnecessary) additional treatments that are not covered by insurance (if they were necessary, they would be covered). In five decades of dental care, I have never had "necessary" treatment suggested that was not covered by insurance. Second, while your insurance coverage includes an exam by an actual dentist, you'll probably never get that exam unless they think they can convince you that you need some expensive treatment (likely not covered by insurance). I went 3-5 times and never met an actual dentist much less had an exam by one. Again, in over five decades I never had a hygiene appointment where the dentist did not stop in and do an exam. Third, they have no issue physically harming you while telling you the action is required. In my case, their X-Ray process resulted in severe bruising to the roof of my mouth as well as an over-extended jaw injury that prevented me from being able to eat solid food for a full week (I have a small mouth including a low roof). I complained bitterly about this awful experience but, they (office staff, who said she was talking to medical staff), insisted they couldn't keep seeing me unless I underwent that same X-Ray experience again. This office staff person literally lied to me on the phone, saying children use the adult sized X-Ray plates with no problem, while the hygienist previously told me they use a non-invasive external imaging for kids, and they could do that with me as well. All of my previous dental offices had not issue accommodating my needs. So much so I didn't even realize it was a big issue until I came to Comal Dental. I'm never going back to this awful and negligent practice.

I had been going to premier for like 20 years and used to be satisfied with there work but for some…read morereason in past five years it's just not worth it. They have turned into a big corporate dental office. I guess to pay for that nice cushy office and all the cute little young girls working for them except for ones behind desk. Now all they do is refer you out to do like extraction and all they want is to clean and put on crowns. My insurance used to cover most of procedures done there and now it cost me like $200 just to walk in door. It should be called Premier price Dental. I was recently referred out to have an extraction and little did I know I was I thought I was getting the procedure done but wasn't. It was only a consultation and cost me $180 and it was 45 miles away and the office where located was back in the back alley unmarked until you get exactly in front of door. But that not premier faults. But maybe it is. They specifically refer you out to offices and corporate places here they can get the most profits. Premier price, premier office, premier referral! Not happy

Previous visits great hygienist and dentist, pleasant and professional…read more My hygienist for this visit Nov 2025 was still great, but had a 20 minute delay at 8:30am as she had to finish the first patient who I assume was late. NP. 3 stars is due to the different dentist now. I had to ask what they would recommend. Maybe I should have just asked to whom they would refer me for periodontics. It was a very awkward conversation that didn't put me at ease. When I did receive my referral it is a generic form with no suggestions of providers in the area. I would think the company had a network of good periodontics practitioners. I informed front office I didn't desire to return if this dentist was the only one available. It did not surprise me that they can note that a customer won't return for a specific dentist. They will reach out to me prior to my next appointment. That is an indicator. I asked how long the last dentist had stayed that I had liked - 1 year, but moved due to long commute. I really liked the hygienist and shared if she goes anywhere, call me. I'm on Yelp to find a good periodontic provider and can ask them for a good general dentistry provider or better yet find a great all in one location. . .

Bait, Switch, and Rinse: A Dealership for Your Mouth…read more I came in for a standard cleaning, expecting a simple appointment. Instead, I got the dental equivalent of a used car sales pitch. Within two minutes of meeting the dentist, she tried to sell me Invisalign. They started with a battery of x-rays and a fancy 3D scan--before telling me I needed a $500 deep cleaning BEFORE they'd do the standard cleaning my insurance covers. When I hesitated, they magically offered it for $190. At that point, they'd already done so much diagnostic work that my insurance was on the hook for, I couldn't just walk out and go somewhere else for my standard cleaning. They had me over a barrel. Reluctantly, I agreed--only to be told, "Oh, we're going to lunch now. Come back in an hour." Sure, because everyone loves running errands for their dentist. I came back, and the so-called "deep cleaning" was finished in 35 minutes flat. Was that a deep cleaning?? But I still had to come back a month later for the standard cleaning that started this whole mess. Finally got that done today, and--surprise--it was as routine as I originally expected. Except they tried to charge me a second time after assuring me there wouldn't be any additional charges for the follow up appointment. They also tried to bill my insurance over $700 for extra services and only backed off after I called them out. This place operates like a shady dealership. They'll upsell you, waste your time, and try to sneak hidden fees past you. I 100% distrust them.
