While at first the office staff seemed extremely kind and helpful, they somehow forgot to mention that this practice was out of network for me. They led me on to believe that they were in network and that perhaps the reason my consult wasn't covered was because I'd seen another dentist and maybe my insurance only covered one consult per year. I then saw a doctor who was very kind, informative and helpful and proceeded to schedule the procedure I needed done.... Keep in mind that I STILL haven't been informed that I am out of network. I received a call this morning to confirm my appointment for my procedure tomorrow morning and I proceeded to ask what my expected cost after insurance would be. I was informed of an INSANELY high amount considering I have insurance and when I questioned it, I was simply told that yes, this is my total after insurance. STILL NO ONE TELLING ME THEY DON'T ACCEPT MY INSURANCE. I call my insurance to verify and my insurance is finally the one to inform me that this practice is in fact out of network, thus the high price tag. When I call the practice to inform them of this and that I will not be proceeding due to being out of network, I was informed that no, no, no, I was most certainly told they were out of network and I must be mistaken. I promise you I am not one to mishear things when it comes to insurance or cost because I a) can't afford to do things out of network and b) why would I do something out of network when I have dental insurance??? Again I was told this was my mistake and they accepted no responsibility. If they take your insurance, I say go for it as the dentist himself is lovely but please, please, please make sure to verify things yourself because they aren't going to turn away your money or help you to figure out that they aren't in your network. read more

Dr. Schwarze and his team could not have been nicer. If you have to have a root canal, this would be the place. I elected to have the sedation. In order to do this you have to show up two hours ahead of time to take the pills. I didn't think they would do much for me, but they had an incredible amnesiac effect. I don't remember anything that happened to me. The experience was much easier than a routine teeth cleaning. For obvious reasons you will need someone to drive you. If you are a wimp like I am, go the sedation route. read more

I needed a root canal, and my dentist scheduled one here, with Dr. Schwarze. Prior to my visit I was told by Hill Country Endodontics that my insurer (Delta Dental) would cover 80% of the $1551.00. Delta Dental paid $636.20, and I'm stuck with the rest. Not good, especially when I call in advance to get an estimate. Lady I spoke with at HCE said she wasn't aware of what was "allowed limit" to charge by DD for this common procedure. Apparently the charges at Hill Country Endodontics are considerably beyond the allowed charge amounts of a major insurer. read more

I was referred to them by my regular dentist for further diagnosis and a root canal. They were able to fit me in surprisingly and gratefully fast. When I arrived, the receptionist was welcoming, warm and compassionate. The assistant was super professional, knowledgeable and kept me informed the whole way. She was compassionate and able to convey exactly what the options were and what to expect. Dr. Kaiser came and talked me thru exactly what he was doing to diagnose the issue and then what the options were as well as what he recommended. He is insanely skilled and his experience shines thru. While I would never recommend a root canal or damaged tooth to anyone, I would recommend that this be one of your first stops in getting it treated. read more

Dr Schwartz is absolutely amazing. I pray I never have to get another root canal but, if I do I'm going back there. He is so caring and kind. 10/10 recommended going here. Also, Tanya at the front desk. I don't have enough good things to say about her. She is the sweetest woman ever. I had some serious pain afterwards, because one of my teeth needed to be pulled. She went above and beyond and scheduled an appointment with someone who could do that for me, then called me to tell me when my appointment was! J couldn't believe it. First visit today was referred by my regular dentist Ideal Dental Dr Brady Burnett. My Endodontics Dr today was Dr Bathina and Ashley was the assistant super nice and very understanding and supportive. Dr. Bathina explained what's going on on my tooth and let me know that there's infection and give me prescription for antibiotics. The outcome I decided to have my tooth removed since it's been retreated twice already. Very welcoming office. read more

worst experience i have ever had period. first of all i had to wait 5 days in pain before they could see me. i asked what about the pain sorry no help today.5 days later the dentist was the roughest anyone could imagine. the dentist was so rough and hitting my nerves did not seem to bother him at all. i was told to pay the $1550 dollars up front and then sent to waiting room up front while other patients were taken care of first. three hours of pure hell doing the root canel. the only thing missing was his knee in my chest and a rubber mallet. as i walked out the front door after hours all were gone but us, i walked straight into the door frame of front door and the assistant ask me are you ok? i responded no i am not the pain was unbelievable as i wondered to my truck and sat and cried. yes a 60 year old man crying. never again. read more

Dr. Schwartz was great, and as important, his office staff was super in getting my records to my general dentist for a next-day consultation, and the oral surgeon that I choose to see. I highly recommend Dr.Syman Bathina. He saved my tooth. I had gone to my regular dentist to have a tooth filled because of a decay. When he started working on it, he realized the tooth was actually bleeding from within and i needed a specialist. He recommended Hill Country Endodonics and made an appointment with them that day. Dr. Bathina did a root canal and cleaned it out. I went back the next week and he worked on it to make sure all the debris was out around the gums and that it hadn't spread. When I go back, he will be putting a post in the tooth to stabilize it. Dr. Bathina is a very caring doctor. He made sure I was comfortable. He called me both times I went to see how I was doing and told me to call him anytime If I had a problem or a question. If I have problems with any other teeth, I will definitely go to him. I saw Dr. Greer the same day at 1230 because I had an acute infection and was in need of a immediate root canal. Dr. Greer preformed the procedure and I left feeling much better. I was extremely satisfied with Dr. Greer and his entire staff. Professional, courteous, made me feel relaxed and at home. I was referred to Hill Country Endodontics by my normal dentist. First visit went well, as it was just for films and preliminary eval. Dr. Schwarze did a fantastic job with the dreaded Root Canal. Multiple times during the procedure saying "this is a difficult tooth". So why the 1 star? It is for the office business model. They are not a contracted "In-Network" provider. I found this out from both mine and my wife's insurance plan after receiving an $800 bill. One plan paid a portion, (more than the max contracted allowable) the other plan refused to pay. After calling the office to see if there could be a possible resolution to the issue, the staff member said YES... A payment plan. read more

I was referred to Hill Country by my Dentist for a root canal. I knew they were out of network and would cost more than in network. After receiving their estimate of $730 which was my portion of the bill, I decided to proceed with the root canal. There was no mention that there was a possibility of the cost being higher. Two weeks after my procedure, I received a bill for an additional $318! This is after I already paid $730 at my appointment. So of course. I called to inquire. I couldn't imagine they could have been that far off on my estimate. If this is what you do for a living, how can you be so far off on an estimate? You would think that with all the complaints they would have already fixed this. If you work with insurance companies every day, why could you not have told me I would have to pay over $1000 out of pocket for a root canal? I would have looked for another dentist who was within the network. Like several other complaints I've read, it seems that they do not tell you, so you won't go somewhere else. The person that I spoke to seems like she had already explained the problem to several patients. I payed $149 for the crown build up and the crown with my dentist that is within network. It's a shame that they continue to do this. read more

I was referred to Hill Country Endodontics by my long time dental team for an evaluation for a possible root canal. Service was exceptional. I had no problems getting in quickly and on the appointment day, everything moved smoothly. No wait. Staff at the reception counter were most cordial. Dr. Kaiser and his assistant were excellent. Very professional and courteous, explaining in clear detail the options ahead of me. Fast forward several weeks and the root canal is over. The whole procedure was handled with the same high level of care and professionalism i experienced during my first visit. The procedure (root canal) was surprisingly comfortable and left me with little to no discomfort. Dr. Kaiser exhibited great empathy with what I anticipated might be a difficult procedure to endure. It was not thanks to his exceptional care. His assistant, too, was great. The whole team left me me a great impression. I was in excruciating pain and they were able to fit me in quickly which was appreciated. After receiving their estimate of my portion of the bill, I found it reasonable and decided to proceed with the root canal. The care was excellent. I have no complaints about that. My complaint is with the billing department. A week after my procedure, I received a bill for an additional $580! This is after I already paid $340 at my appointment. So of course I called to inquire. I couldn't imagine they could have been that far off on my estimate. If this is what you do for a living, how can you be so far off on an estimate? The staff was nice and informative. I was in a lot of pain so they set and appointment the next day from when I called. The minute the tech looked at the tooth that was giving me trouble she said it looked cracked and it would probable need to be pulled. The doctor came in and said that it would not be worth doing and root canal because the crack was below the gum-line and the tooth was not worth saving. He explained this while injection the nerves with the numbing solution. He then spent about 5 minuted drilling and filling the hole he drilled. He explained that the numbing would last a while but since they do not perform extractions he would have his staff refer me to an oral surgeon in Austin. He wrote a prescription for penicillin and that there pain may continue. I was sent back to the front where I was presented a bill for $500 and the nice person at the front desk explained how I would be re-imbersed by my insurance for some of the bill. I feel like I was taken advantage of when I was in a lot of pain and suffering from lack of sleep. When the doctor knew he could not work on my tooth because they do extractions someone should have stopped at that point... Not bill me $500 to tell me to go somewhere else. When the numbing solution wore off my tooth started to throb, it became hard to swallow and there is a sharp pain in my ear that is causing a bad head-ache. All that I can understand... Tooth pain is tough but being stuck with a $500 bill for an x-ray and referral made me want to warn others about Hill Country Endodontics. read more

I was referred by my regular dentist after a mess up, I was in pain and I was unable to eat. I'm grateful for how fast they were able to take me in and the dentist was great but the person who takes of their insurance was entirely off. I paid 115 for visit than 350, Than we were to wait for the insurance. The insurance paid just over a thousand and I was required to pay 152 on top of what I had paid. Tonya said the insurance maybe covered 70% which makes no sense because I paid over 600 dollars! To make it worse I asked her if this how it usually is. She told me that she thought she was close to accurate (right) ... and that I was in pain so they found time for me or I could have waited 30 days to find out the truth cost. OR I could have scheduled an appointment with my regular dentist for 2 days and paid $50 out of pocket for the same procedure if they would have been up front about their prices. I hate the fact they take advantage of you in pain and claim they are doing you the favor while jacking up the price. Yes the Dentist was amazing, but i can't recommend this place. They are ridiculously overpriced and take advantage of customers in dental pain. read more
