Staff was attentive when we went into shop and order. Fabric chosen was performance fabric. they recommended I also purchase additional fabric protection, which I did. the sofa arrived with dirt stains on it. they sent 2 of their people over with a cleaner.they assured me that when the cleaner dried the stain would be gone.IT WAS NOT. HH furniture never returned my calls. I did buy their cleaning solution to no avail. wondering if the additional fabric protectant was applied.?? They did not stand behind what they sold me. I am a residential interior designer therefore well versed in the limitations of performance fabric & fabric protectant.... they delivered a soiled sofa which never came clean then ignored my calls. avoid shopping at this store. read more

We needed a couch and loveseat ASAP for a condo that was being remodeled, which meant that day, and they came through for us big time. The price was great also. Awesome experience!!! I initially came to Furniture Direct as I was looking for could be a 'one stop shop' and needed to stay within a reasonable budget. I started out a little overwhelmed and not sure of exactly what I wanted for my living room space. Their design team was wonderful and helped guide and entice me until we ultimately came to a design I absolutely love! I NEVER could have gotten this look on my own. A recent visitor told me that it was like walking into a magazine! Budget was very important to me and the team was able to suggest high quality pieces at great prices for a look that looks far from cheap! Horrible customer service. Received wrong sofa after waiting 8 months. Never once called to update. We called numerous times only to be given multiple excuses then told fabric was on backorder. Got floor model. Insisted on switching that day only or we were out of luck. We are out of town and could not ask our guests staying in our condo to give up their time and move furniture out of the rooms and back to accommodate this. Was told I would be given 10 or 15% off. Of course received the 10% or $110 only after waiting 8 months for a floor model. read more

As a business owner I'm reluctant to leave a bad review. Stuff happens, right? As long as the business does their best to make it right ... right? Well, today was the final straw in trying to work with Furniture Direct on Archer Rd. HHI to make it right. Ordering from them over the phone is at your own peril (and disappointment). At the very least, get everything in writing (good thing we have emails & text messages) I'm out of state (biggest complaint of out of state owners on HHI is we get taken advantage of all the time, and there's no one to complain to) and ordered a sleeper sofa, king mattress & 2 box springs & 2 single bed mattresses. Sales agent Willie volunteered to go to our condo to take measurements and coordinate colors / vibes. She ASSURED us the new sofa would look great, but the photos she sent of a sofa in the store were of a blue & white sofa. I said, I'm concerned over the color. Why don't i pay for everything when I get there to make sure it's what we want. "No, no, pay for everything now, so it gets set aside for you, and if there's ANY problems you can return it". $3400 paid in advance. We were told we could see it in the showroom before it was loaded onto the truck for delivery. I let them know the date I'm flying from NY to Sc to ensure everything was as stated. We rush from airport to FD and No sofa at the showroom. Glen, another salesperson, says it's already been loaded on the delivery truck. Additionally, it's Blue & white, as in the photos, not creams, aquas/teals currently in our oceanfront condo, and Glen agreed. Yup, When it arrived the next day it was Blue & White. Oh, and their policy is they don't do returns and Glen doesn't know why Willie would write it up, have us pay for everything, then tell us that we could return it, as that's not their policy. Okay, let's not stress, it's a rental and we're only in town to supervise the change out. We'll just have to make it work. We're trying to be reasonable. King mattress & box spring, made in Charleston, delivered just fine. Single bed mattresses (2) and (2) box springs (original box spring 4" high), not correct, at least partially. They sent 8" high box springs. One has to literally hike up onto the beds with a foot stool to get in them and in a small room they look ridiculous they're so high! Not to mention dangerous for children and the elderly! Remember, Willie went to our condo to take measurements and make sure everything would work. I called the company that day - I was in another room as the drivers put the box springs and mattresses in the 2nd bedroom and left. As soon as I walked in the room & realized the box springs were to high, I called FD. I was told by Willie it's 12/18/2019 the manufacturer in Charleston is closed for the holiday and they won't be open until after the New Year and there isn't anything she or FD can do. Re delivery is slated for 1/6!!! We started this process in November, to avoid any issues before our busy rental season begins and our first long term renters arrive 1/3. We sent photos of the ridiculously high beds in a small room and Willie agreed, they were to high, stating she'll make it right & GO OUT herself to our condo to oversee the exchange, making the beds, etc, so as not to inconvenience the renters who arrived 1/3. On 1/10 we call, as we've heard nothing. We were told the box springs never got ordered. What?! They call back, nope, they're in the warehouse and will be delivered. Why wasn't this followed up by Willie or anyone else (like the manager or owner?) I ask, whose going to make up the beds? Where's Willie? She's off today. Okay, have her call us so we can set this up - remember, she offered to go out and make it right. Today we're called by the delivery guy, with the replacement box springs, he's at our condo and can we let him in! We're 1400 miles away! We've made it clear we don't live in the area on multiple occasions and Willie said she'd take care of us. So, we just called Furniture Direct. Willie answered. We remind her of the promise to make it right (initially she forgot but then remembered) ... Oh, yes, she says. I did say I'd go out and oversee the making of the beds and delivery. (Why should we have to pay someone else to go out and fix their mistake?) But she won't be able to take care of it until next week - can't we send someone else? No, we can't, nor should we! Well, she says in a huff, 'the earliest I can do anything is Monday, if it's available. A friend of mine died and your situation is just not that important and you're neurotic." Yup, that's what Willie said as she hung up the phone on us. How's that for customer service. ?? We'll call back tomorrow to set up delivery with someone else. Unbelievable. read more

I have been in the store many times and always liked the selections. My first purchase had a few glitches but turned out ok. I was recently in and found a chair that was exactly what I was looking for on the store floor. The salesperson checked and confirmed it was available. I was looking for 2 chairs and she also confirmed a second chair in the warehouse that I could pick up on the dock the next morning. I had cash in hand and was on my way to finalize the purchase when the whole story changed. Suddenly the chair on the floor was sold and so was the the chair in the warehouse. People make mistakes but the salesperson was pretty unapologetic. Bottom line is they have a nice selection but poor customer service. I walked out, found the chairs and purchasing them from Savanna at Coastal Homes down the street, who was very nice and matched the price. read more

Lies. I think they have learned to talk around answers so often that they probably don't know when they are lying or telling the truth. I won't bore with the details, but I sincerely beg you to consider purchasing from another company. While their prices are reasonable, their ability to be honest in timing, availability, etc is questionable at best. Once you threaten to cancel, the invoice shows up and you're out of luck... even if ALL of the suite isn't on the invoice and they can't tell you when the remainder will arrive. We made sure they knew from the very beginning that if ANY of our order would be outside of the 6-8 weeks (understanding COVID might have things at the outside of that window) that we needed to know immediately so that we could consider another option. We were told that nothing would be outside of that window... until later when we start asking for specifics. We still don't have all the furniture and still don't have the answers.This just isn't the way to do business. read more
