Very nice sales crew, they are not trying to push sales on you but are going out of their way so you can get a good deal!

Foundry 317 is along the canal right on Westfield Boulevard. Foundry 317 focuses on home decor and furniture. I clearly arrived right at the tail-end of the holiday season and a good number of the items either had a holiday theme or fit within the holiday season. Items included antiques, one-of-a-kind furniture pieces, festive accents, candles, and other overall housing items. Foundry 317 has a parking lot, though I was actually wheeling there. There's a small ramp up to the sidewalk if you approach it from the right (facing Foundry 317). The doorway is pretty workable and I found the interior to be surprisingly accessible (though I will admit I was taking extra caution given some of the prices!). As I was wheeling, I knew it was pretty unlikely I'd actually buy anything on this visit as it would have been difficult to carry back to my car. However, I definitely saw some items I loved and can easily see myself returning in the near future. The employee I encountered was friendly, the environment was warm and inviting, and I really loved some of the smaller items. I'm a candle freak and definitely would like to return for those. I've always found this section of Westfield Blvd. a little hit-and-miss. The sidewalk is kind of cracked and it's somewhat uneven, however, there's much to love here and I loved the efforts toward accessibility. This is definitely a little gem. I'd seen it before, however, I've never been by when they were open. I finally got the chance to visit, and I'm definitely impressed. I'll be back.

So it was exciting to see one of our local spots, Frontdoor Home Design, expand its operations at the same time. Previously located on Washington Street, it shifted to the space that used to house Coal Yard Coffee, and has brightened up the block in more ways than one. Frontdoor offers tons of furniture, lighting, and home goods -- a remarkable selection packed cozily into a tiny space, which uses its square footage effectively without feeling too cramped to get around. If anything it displays the owner's talents for setting a vibe in any space, as it's completely unrecognizable from when it used to be a coffee shop. But the most hopeful thing about Frontdoor is getting the design expertise that they offer. It's as much as service as it is a shop, and you can easily wile away an afternoon brainstorming and ideating about what's possible in spaces of your home that you didn't even imagine could change. If you've passed by but haven't popped in, it's time to change that!

Here you will find a sprawling showroom filled with mid-century inspired sofas and credenzas, unique lamps and accent pieces, and locally-made wall flats, lighting and bedding that are produced onsite. This is definitely not a Value City Furniture or Home Goods, so don't come here expecting to spend less than a pretty penny, but the items they offer are stylish and comfy to boot. At the very least, it's a great place to stop in to gain inspiration for your own home; the showroom pieces rotate frequently. And it's always a plus in my book to celebrate local business!

Everything down to the finest details about our lunch was so wonderful, that it's hard to narrow down for brevity. The setting, the decor, the exceptional service, the food and the tea and their presentation...perfect. So lovely. A few of us have food allergies, and they were easily accommodated for. They have a nice selection of gluten free options, and what we sampled was delicious. The girls were all so tickled with their Princess Tea lunch. They received crowns, and we couldn't help but notice that each girl received a color that matched their outfit. Having a selection of finger sandwiches and little sweet treats thrilled them just as much as having pots of tea to sample from their pretty little teacups. Even the smallest details were tended to. We enjoyed it so much, we quickly agreed to making this a regular girl date spot.

My daughter is on a gluten free diet and seeing no GF offerings on the menu she ate before we went but joined us for the experience. Our reservation was for 12:30. We were seated within a few minutes. Our waitress, Ashlyn, arrived and introduced herself, promising to be back soon. 30 minutes later she returned and asked if we would like water. We said water and menus would be nice. 30 minutes later she brought a carafe of water and the menus. We had plenty of time to discuss the menu. When she returned she sat down in our extra chair and talked about the selections and made suggestions for us. Then told us to think about what we wanted and she would be back. 30 minutes later she returned and asked if we knew what we wanted. My sister told her we would like to order now. My granddaughters and I ordered the petite tea, consisting of a cup of soup, sandwich, scones and sweet treats, and tea. We all chose the baked potato soup, sweet and spicy turkey croissant, and vanilla almond tea - all served on a tiered tray. My GF daughter ordered a cup of tea. My sister ordered separately. Our tea pot was delivered and we waited for our order. Our waitress appeared 30 minutes later and asked if we needed anything. My sister said yes, we would like our orders. Our waitress apologized for the wait and said there was a mix up in orders in the kitchen. She reminded us that she did not prepare the food, just served it. Our food finally arrived. The cup of soup is literally a tea cup of soup and while it was delicious, it was 3 teaspoons of soup - which we used the same spoons we used for our tea as there were no soup spoons. The turkey croissant was grilled and flavorful, also 3 bites. The tea was now cold but the sweets were very tasty. When our waitress reappeared, she apologized for the long wait and offered to take half off my daughter's tea and noted that we would also save the tax that would be charged on the $5.00 tea. My sister told her that was not acceptable, that she thought half off the entire table was customary in the restaurant world, keeping in mind we have been there over 3 hours. The waitress said she would talk to the manager, then came back and asked us to meet the manager at the register. We ended up receiving half off the entire bill and there was half off for my daughter's tea. 3 stars for adjusting the bill and for the delicious food, that's 2 stars less than my previous glowing review for making my granddaughters first "tea room" experience less than stellar.
