Consigned by Design is a larger scale consignment shop that has a wide variety of furniture and decor. It's fun to go in, or look online for a unique piece or an everyday staple. The inventory changes frequently depending on what items are brought in. The prices lower month by month and sometimes you can find a good deal. The one area I'm a little iffy on is their customer service. They have a few shinning stars who are great. I would suggest to focus on customer service, and kindness. My friend has been telling me about this shop for years. They sell furniture, home decor and some jewelry and handbags by consignment. The shop is upscale with some highend trendy merchandise. Prices start out high, and work their way down on a monthly basis. The tags are well marked so you can see the exact day something will be marked down. The staff is super friendly. We were welcomed and asked several times if we needed help. A clerk described the pricing so we would understand. I was looking for antiques, but they didn't have much. Most of the furniture is modern. The shop is clean with lots of nooks to explore. I did see some tempting pieces. They are located in a small strip mall. There is plenty of parking. I love shopping at CBD. I always seem to find many treasures I cannot live without. Most of the employees bend over backwards to be kind and help you decide on your perfect purchases. There is one employee who is always hateful and rude, he goes out of his way to be mean to me because he said I tried to get him fired years ago. Funny how I don't remember this ... Hmm...I'm torn between three and four stars. Let me preface this review by saying I love hunting for great deals- be it at antique shops, garage sales, Habitat's Restore shop, you name it. So, it goes without saying that I was excited to finally visit Consigned by Design after having it bookmarked for so long. This Northside upcycle shop for home decor features everything from rugs and lamps to coffee tables and artwork. We were on the hunt for a rug during our visit and found their sliding price scale interesting and useful (after XYZ date, the price is XYZ...). If you're patient, you might be able to snag a deal but that will require following up and revisiting the store. Otherwise, prices are definitely on the high end and behind what we'd typically spend. For example, there was a Crate and Barrel table but it was over 1k. The store was fairly busy so we didn't have a chance to interact with staff. We're planning to follow up on a rug to see if it's still available after the price drop date. read more

It has been awhile since I've been to Consign by Design and I was excited to explore the store once again. They carry quality, lightly used and new home decor and furniture at reasonable prices. I never know what I'll find for myself or a friend. The store is large and grouped by similar items. You can find high quality sofas and side chairs, dining tables and chairs, consoles, mirrors, prints, benches, lighting and chandeliers, desks, baby and children furniture, patio items and many accent pieces. Party pieces, glass and dishware are fun to browe through. You can find most items needed for a home here. Halloween and Thanksgiving items were starting to come in while I was there. They also sell gorgeous jewelry and designer purses which are located in the glass cases by the checkout counter. When you check out the price tags, there are dates followed by a price. Consignment pricing structure consists of four 30-day prices, the original price & three dates with markdowns where the price is reduced by 20% of its most-previous price. Some items I could take a chance on it being there later after it's reduced but several pieces I didn't want to risk losing besides the price was already affordable. The staff are friendly and were helpful when I needed someone to get chimes down and a nice wreath. I also found a stunning and unique serving bowl plus a cool chip and dip tray. A few other items I'll watch and hopefully get soon. I'm definitely not going to wait so long before going back. Perfect shop if you need furniture, rugs or home accessories. This is a great place to find unique furniture and home goods at very good prices. I went in looking for kitchen furniture and rugs. They didn't have too many pieces of furniture for the kitchen, but they had lots of rugs that were in very good shape and at excellent prices. What they had a lot of was furniture for other parts of your home, including bedroom sets, couches, tables (lots and lots of tables), end tables, desks, as well as lots of lamps, artwork and paintings, throw pillows and other fun knickknacks for the home. They have things in all types of styles, too, but mostly traditional country and shabby chic stuff, which is not really my thing, but it might be your thing! The people who work here were very friendly and helpful, and I saw one of them help a woman take a big purchase out to her car. That's some good customer service. read more

I love going in this store. You never know what you are going to find. If you need prints framed for your house decor this is a great place to go! They have lots of different choices and lots of different sizes. You also need to watch the tags because after certain dates then the price becomes lower. Sometimes I don't wait for that to happen but other times I take a picture of the tag so I know what date to check back. Everything in the store is consigned so it is used items but they are better quality items. They also have jewelry and I always find myself looking through the drawers to look at the jewelry. It is mostly costume jewelry but still I have found some good finds here. In the last room they have bigger furniture like couches and beds. They usually have several tables and chairs. In addition they have a lot of lighting options. We have successfully remodeled every room in our house and I have been able to find items that I liked well enough to bring home from this store. I will continue to shop there as their selection changes often. read more

Beware of providing items to sell at this shop. Back in December I had one of their delivery trucks come and pick up some vintage furniture and several smaller pieces, which included two pieces of Waterford crystal. The items sold quickly. But one piece of the crystal was never listed for sale. This piece is a family heirloom dated from 1912 and they cannot find it. I have provided pictures and still nothing. I am considering legal action since they are not returning emails or phone calls. I have used them in the past with no problems. Beware of what you provide them to sale. This is the 2nd time I've encountered the rudeness of the store manager, a man, when trying to consign things. He complained that I had brought in way more than 30 items. Yes, china sets DO have more than 30 items! The ladies are truly nice and helpful, he on the other hand is SO rude that I'll not be back, and I used to shop there often. I'm truly sorry the owner passed away, bit his wife should know that rudeness makes or breaks a business, and her business won't last long with the horrible customer service. read more

I was pretty jazzed when I found this store. Was looking for a few furniture pieces and had already gone to a few other places and was coming up short. I'm not a fan of mass produced furniture and prefer to get more unique items, that I can at least pretend not a lot of people have. This store is truly wonderful. Was immediately greeted and asked if we'd been in the store before. When responded with a no, we got a walk through of their tagging system. Every item has a tag with a lot of details on it, including date item arrived, size dimensions and a pricing scale. Also, if you take a picture of this, the QR code takes you to this item on their website. It's very impressive that they keep their inventory updated there. Store is very "organized" for having so much available there. Everything I looked at was in such good condition. Ended up purchasing a beautiful kitchen table. You have two days to pick up your purchase before a storage fee, I believe $10/day, is added. They do also offer delivery, but unsure as to that pricing. I needed to go home and measure my space before committing, and it was very easy to purchase the furniture over the phone. They are also opening a second location, which is great. I was told I could bring a framed picture in to sell that I had recently purchased there. A family member didn't like it. When I arrived, Andrew, the store manager, insisted that I didn't purchase it from them and that it also wasn't the style of picture they ever would have in their store because the owner doesn't like that style. I showed him my debit card purchase on my bank transaction for it but it made no difference. He said there was no such transaction on that date. I was basically accused of lying even though I showed him proof of purchase. He just didn't want it and made me feel like a criminal. I would never recommend taking anything there to sell nor will I ever purchase anything from such a terribly run business. They have bigger problems if sales aren't showing up in their system. Shame on Andrew for treating a previously regular customer so poorly. read more

This is a nicely organized shop with primarily consignment furniture. They do have some accessories like lamps and wall hangings, but the majority of space is furniture. Like most furniture places, the items are packed pretty close together but with a little effort, you can get to all of them. The shop is on the end of a strip mall, so there is lots of free parking and the site makes it easy to load any purchases you wish to take with you. The staff were all busy helping shoppers, some making purchases, some loading stuff in their vehicles. Seems like everyone was focused on the customers. They do have several business spaces connected with the main purchase desk on the far west end. This place is fantastic! I met one of the owners, Jeff, at their annex store first. He shared how they focus on higher quality items only, and it shows. They have a huge selection of very nice items between the two stores, the main store and the nearby annex store, and the prices are excellent. The price for an item starts out extremely reasonable to begin with, and then is lowered every month for 3 months until the item sells. I just purchased a very nice, solid wood entertainment center from them for less than $400! Jeff delivered it to my house 2 days later for a very reasonable fee, and was kind enough to help me move a heavy TV onto the new entertainment center. I will definitely be a repeat customer, and I highly encourage anyone else to check out their stores! read more

Hidden Gem! Went here on a Sunday waiting for the dinner buffet up the street. Initially went in to just look around to burn time, now this will be my favorite store. I would describe it as a upscale furniture store with unique finds. Me and my sister browsed around and seen a couple of pieces we liked but felt they were kind of pricey. Upon leaving we stopped at the jewelry section. There were some really unique pieces. I noticed an unique amethyst necklace. It was 7 amethyst stones on one string. Beautiful piece. We noticed it had three prices on it $30,$20 and $15. We asked for help from an associate and she informed us that the prices go down. I was able to get this beautiful one of a kind unique piece for $15. We were super excited and went back through the store and looked at everything we liked and notice the prices were significantly better in February.
