Very Poor communication, working with insurance so didn't bother to contact us. We put through several phone calls and were told they would get back to us. Never herd anything until we complained to several others; insurance, 911 Restoration....... Overpriced for what was done to my lower kitchen cabinets. The ends still show water damage which trim will not cover. But Good job removing & replacing cabinets without disturbing corian counters. Very hard to work with. Still waiting for any kind of response now as of Wednesday. I'll give it a few more days, but am beginning to wonder about this company..... I also received two more emails over two days and a phone call. I have a rough quote and am in the process of determining it is feasible. Furniture medic repaired, restored and even updated an antique vanity stool that was passed down to me. It had been pretty abused over the years and I was honestly pretty sad about the condition it was in prior to the furniture medic. Now it is a beautifully restored piece of furniture that is not only aesthetically pleasing, but it is now comfortable and functional once again. I also appreciated the time and effort that went into the artistic detail of painting the vanity bench. I was very impressed with the service and the quality of work. The office out of Upland came to my home in Redondo Beach. posing as someone interested in my business after being contacted by Farmers Insurance to come estimate repairs to my home caused by flooding. A month later I was still calling asking for the estimate. Clearly they didn't care about my business as I was told, nor intend to do the work. When Kim finally called my back today 1/27/17 she disclosed my Farmers agent got my bid a month ago and they could release it to me without his consent. Amazing how after I kept pushing, Farmers finally gave it too me and it's substantially more than what my appraiser was trying to give me. This is a crooked company in bed with crooked insurance companies. Don't let them in your home to treat you like they treated me. read more

They provided me with new kitchen cabinets and did a beautiful job last summer. We had some issues: they did not want to take a credit card, although their website says they will. They promised to be ready to install in two weeks; they made an appointment after five weeks and did not show. I had to insist they installed in the sixth week although they wanted to wait until the seventh. Once they installed, there were many errors that had to be fixed; they were reluctant to do so but finally came around. So yes, I have a beautiful kitchen but I had to stay on top of the project and get cranky a few times. They charged the advertised $6500 and I got some quality upgrades. Their offer was "whatever you want" for that price. My neighbor is remodeling his kitchen and wanted to use Furniture Medic. We took his plans to them and they wanted to bid on it. Apparently $6500 no longer means "whatever you want" or quality: they bid $16,000, which included melamine cabinets (mine are birch). They explained $6500 meant "just the basics". I can no longer recommend them. read more

I had a few people that I called and made appointments as far as finishing our kitchen cabinets and a kitchen table. Martin came out and he seemed very professional (at the time). That is the "only" reason for the 2 stars. I never received a bid. Two phone calls went over to the office and the girl who answered said Martin was busy and to send an email which I did. It has now been almost two weeks and I have yet to hear back. Edit: Josh called me today 10/22 and said that he did send the bid. I looked in spam and all through the email and could not find it. I appreciated his apology but as I stated to him, a phone call at that time would have been better, especially from Jeannie who I spoke with on the phone a couple times. I contacted the Vista store at 760-597-4004. I wanted to repair a crack in my bed's footboard, and reinsert an upholstered button that had fallen off my couch (I had the button). I experienced really friendly, professional service. After I left a voicemail, they returned my call the same day. They let me know the minimum for a service call is $125, and they gave me a verbal estimate over the phone. They scheduled an appointment day and time, and gave me a reminder call the business day before my appointment. On the day of the appointment, they showed up on time. The field repairman's estimate matched the phone estimate. I agreed to it, and he performed the repair right then - it took about one hour. I was looking for a solution for fixing two office chairs that are fairly new, but as it turns out, fairly poorly crafted that had become wobbly and unstable. Here's how it started. We had a slight mix up on the date/time William was to come out to do our estimate and guess what -- he apologized and took full responsibility for the error without hesitation. No passing the buck here. We all can't be perfect all the time and the difference is how you handle it. For me, he made a positive out of a negative. The day William arrived, he was pleasant, professional and knowledgeable. We ended up having a door replaced, our entrance way refinished and several cabinets refinished. Martin did all the refinishing and the man is an artist. He is also incredibly pleasant and professional. Seriously, if we ever need anything refinished again he would be the only person I would consider. William followed up with us to make sure we were satisfied, and also let me know not to hesitate if we had any concerns. The movers that loaded my household belongings onto the van, removed a permanent shelf from my antique Biedermeier desk, gouging two of the doors on it as well. I had to call someone to hopefully get the shelf back in and the doors fixed, and found the Furniture Medic on Yelp. I made the appointment with Jeannie, and Mike and Jeff came out the very next day. It took them a while to get the shelf back in, as they had to be careful not to damage the desk, which they didn't. They fixed it all, and it looks fabulous! They also fixed a couple of other things I had, and didn't charge me... These guys are really, really good, and personable as well. My antique table blew a leg (claw foot) that was in my parents and grandparents home for decades and was pretty scratched up besides, I put up a short review just after it was delivered to my home this morning but it is not appearing so I an editing the previous review. These are masterful craftsmen. The table is gorgeous. I used to lay on the carpet under it and listen to my mom play her baby grand nearby. All the scratches are gone and the wood is alive once again. It was over 70 years ago as I am in my 75th year. It was over 50 years old back then. I had no idea that such masters of woodcraft still exist. I am thrilled with the workmanship that this group of gifted artisans possess . Thank you Furniture Medic for going way "above and beyond" it is very worth the dollars I spent which I feel are affordable as this table now has many more years of life restored brilliantly.
