Landmark review: I didn't realize until reading the yelp that the furniture row name is a chain of stores throughout the United States. There is the Oak Express for wood furniture, sofa mart for all your living/dining room needs, and bedroom expressions for your mattress needs. There is ample parking for these three stores. The only downside is the prices are high and the staff are not quite attentive. I was able to walk through all three stores without anyone greeting or even asking if I needed any help. read more

Given that this place is a giant corporate conglomerate of the Nth degree, I was really, really surprised that the salespeople were actually helpful and friendly, and they actually had some awesome 50% off floor model STEALS (I got 2 bookshelves for like 90$, perfect condition). The quality of the furniture I bought (all from oak express) was in between what you'd find at target and what you'd find at crate and barrel, and I think it is priced appropriately. Originally I thought the furniture I bought wouldn't fit in my car, so I asked if I could have it delivered. The salesman I was working with said sure, no problem, and set me up. Then we went out to my car to put in the one small piece I had purchased, and he helpfully measured my back seat and determined that both of the other pieces would fit. The one of the remaining two pieces that was in stock went home with me that day, and the other piece that had to be ordered came in 2 weeks later. When I came in to the store to pick it up, I told another salesperson that I had originally arranged for delivery but was now picking it up and would like to have the delivery fee refunded. I thought this was going to be a big hassle, but the saleswoman said "sure, no problem" and 45 seconds later it was done. read more

It appears you get what you pay for. I bought a sofa from here in 2012 and a mere 2 years later the springs were popping through the bottom and puncturing the cushions. I had at least planned ahead and got the extended warranty, however after a tedious back and forth to them, they denied my claim, citing "After reviewing the your documents, we are sorry to inform you that wiring and springs are not covered under the Great White Bottling Protection Plan. This plan covers accidental stains, punctures and burns on leather and upholstered living room furniture..." so, it appears that because my issue had to do with the faulty, crappy quality of my sofa they will NOT cover it, but if there had been an ACCIDENT, they would have. makes perfect sense. bottom line, don't get suckered in to believing that because the sofa is "made in America" it will be good quality, and just because you pay for the extra protection plan/warranty, you will get your poorly made sofa repaired. read more

Nice employees who are present, but not walking around on top of you. The sofa prices are comparable to Slumberland ($1,000 for a sleeper w queen size mattress or $1,000 for a decent reclining one) and the same as any online prices after shipping costs ($800 for a reclining sofa + $150 shipping). As a novice at buying new couches (or any big furniture for that matter -- thank you craigslist), I did not realize that it would take 2-4 weeks for a couch to arrive from the factory to the store. Somehow, I expected this to be a bit quicker of a process since they don't offer custom covers or extensive options on simple reclining sofas. You're lucky if a couch has 3 colors to choose from. One thumb up --- that Sofa Mart is connected to a mattress store and Oak Express (hence, Furniture "Row"). Given the similar prices between all in-store and online purchasing options as well as the time you save just ordering everything at once, the bundled stores are tres convenient. The other thumb up --- for their lifetime warranties on parts/labor, and extended warranties on cushions ("37th street" furniture). Most other places offer one-year warranties on parts/labor only. Tip: The parking lot entrance/exit is off of Interstate Drive (only). You cannot turn in off of Prospect. (Located just north of Meijer and Beverly Theatre in Champaign.) read more

This place is great. We bought our couch over a year ago and still love it. It was literally the first one we saw walking in and a phenomenal value at that. I'm shocked when I hear how much people pay for couches and ours is nicer IMHO and was not even a thousand bucks. Plus it's pretty good quality and holding together nicely. This place was excellent to work with on delivery arrangements and they were also really flexible on returning an item (I purchased a bed frame from them that I didn't end up needing and they let me return it almost a month later - unopened and never used). read more

I purchased an office suite from Furniture Row in 2013: 2 desks, 2 office hutches and a book case. I love my office set, but noticed that one of the filing drawers was broken. After working to get the drawer out for some time, I decided to contact the store. The folks at the store couldn't have been more helpful. I ended up visiting the store with photos of the issue (my furniture is discontinued). They ended up searching in the warehouse, unpacking some overstock and checking to see if it was similar enough to help (it wasn't). Another individual was consulted to see if he knew hi o w to solve my problem. At that point, he VOLUNTEERED to come to my house, on his own time, to repair my item. Somebody had recommended us to check Furniture Row. And our experience was really very good. Kathy assisted us-she was very helpful, knowledgeable and patient. We told her what we will looking for-and she knew exactly what to show us. She told us pros and cons of few sofas we had short listed, and that helped us to decide which 1 to finalize. I also asked her how we could get rid of her old so far-and she provided us information about an organization that can pickup are old furniture from our house and it can be used for charitable work. Also got unlimited cleaning supplies for our furniture for 5 year period. We were very happy with our experience, and know where to go next time if we were doing any furniture shopping. Update: the table and chair is perfection in my tiny kitchen! I paid extra to have the chairs put together, and was told it would take 1-2 weeks. After two weeks and three phone calls, I was told by Stephanie they would be ready Saturday by noon. When I arrived at nearly 2, they weren't ready. That woman is one hot-mess of a sales assistant. Poor thing. But I love the end product, and hope I don't have to return before she moves on to her next sales failure! read more

I made the mistake of purchasing a sofa that was too large to fit in my apartment. The people at Sofa Mart were very helpful and understanding and they helped me pick out a new sofa that would fit through my somewhat small door. Since they had it in stock, I got my new sofa the next day! They did not charge me extra and I actually got money back since my new sofa was less expensive. My wife and I have shopped at F.R. until a recent purchase in which we bought a sitting chair that proved to be very, very uncomfortable and ended up hurting my back. The chair is called an Accent chair and upon complaining about the chair I was told that it was not a 'chair for long sitting'. We were not told this when we purchased the chair and why would I buy a sitting chair nearly $800 that I could not sit in. They did however deign to send us another cushion (of the same quality and design) which would not fix the problem. I ended up spending $130.00 in cushions and seating pad but the problem persist and my wife and I will be looking to purchase a real chair elsewhere. Needless to say, they also have a no return policy, in this day and time, and we will no longer be shopping with them. Caveat emptor! read more

I had a truly nice time shopping at Sofa Mart. My wife and I were greeted as we walked in by Ryan. He introduced himself to us, asked what we were shopping for, and then left us to look around on our own without hounding us. He told us to find him with any questions. We looked around and decided on which furniture set we wanted and Ryan went over all our options with us. We walked out of there with a couch, love seat, recliner and a couple of tables. Was a low key, relaxed environment, while making us a priority while we were in there without being smothering. We have purchased things from them in the past and will continue doing so in the future. Also, Ryan told us when the furniture would be in, and it showed up on that day. When I would call to check in on the status I was greeted both times by a really polite female who remembered talking to me the day before. They truly cared that we were taken care of and that is/was greatly appreciated and will not be forgotten. I will definitely shop there in the future and recommend them. read more

Found a sofa there that I wanted. It was an amazing looking sectional and it was during a special. The price was perfect, but I had other errands to run and was not sure if I would be back that day to order it. I went to ask how long the sale on that particular couch was running, and I was ignored for 5 minutes while the two employees messed with the computer. She gave me an extra discount even though the sale does not start until next week. I have not received the furniture yet, so yet to be seen. I purchased a King size mattress and frame in March or April of 2017 and the frame already has parts that are broken. I called, spoke to a guy named Paul (he actually sold me the set) and he asks "How did that happen?" "Did someone jump on it?". After I informed him it's only 2 adults in the household and we're not jumping on the bed, he then asked another associate if frames are covered under warranty. Found out yes it's covered for a year and while the Peoria store, (which is where I originally purchased set) doesn't have any the Bloomington store does. I informed him well since I live in Peoria and didn't purchase it in Bloomington I would like for him to order one to Peoria please. This whole experience has left me knowing I WILL NEVER be purchasing anymore furniture from this place! Between March and May last year alone I purchased a bed and living room set from this company and to know 1st time I have an issue they ask me an insulting question like that has me furious. Better question is why after less than a year the product isn't holding up and worth what I paid?! read more

On March 17th My husband and I were pretty much approved on the spot for a couch through capital one. We had to wait for the couch to come in which was no problem since we were moving for mid April. April 1st came and we decided we no longer needed the couch so I called to cancel. The lady assured me every thing was taken care of. Mid April we got a notice saying our first payment was due I overlooked it considering we canceled almost 2 weeks before. Mid May we got a notice for another month/late fee. I called to question why we were getting the fee/it being sent to collections. They said the person who I talked to basically didn't do anything so I decided it'd be best to come to the store. We got everything taken care of and we were on our way. Yesterday (7/16) I got a hit on my credit it was deducted by 100 points both mine and my husband. We called capital one and the lady there cleared everything on the spot late fees and all especially after we explained the situation. She said the reason why we were charged was because it took them (sofa mart) 2 months to submit the order. We called sofa mart a guy answered and we explained the whole thing and he said he would figure everything out and call me back. Today (7/17) we decided to go in sofa mart and after 45 minutes of waiting, Michelle said she got it all figured out and apparently capital one is going to write all 3 credit bureaus and our score "should" reflect the change in a month. I honestly wouldn't want to deal with them anymore. This is just ridiculous it's already hard being young with little to no credit and to have it wiped didn't help me at all! read more

So I just moved here and went here because there is a huge Furniture Row in High Point, NC which is where i first visited as a broke college student. Now as a less broke graduate student I could afford the furniture here. The salesman, Chris told me Id have my couch in 2 weeks...That was four weeks ok. They never called to give me an update, i was constantly having to call or go up there to get an update which i think is inconsiderate and a little unprofessional. I ordered a bed, frame, headboard, futon, and couch and even though I am sitting here as I type waiting on the delivery of my couch, everything else was delivered a week after I ordered it and I love it all. I was hesitant to go into this store after reading some of the other reviews, but being new to town and not knowing where else to go, my husband and I ventured in. I was pleasantly surprised when immediately upon entering the store Kathy S. approached us and asked if we had been in before. When we said no, she explained how each display had a sale sheet in a holder with all the details and pricing on it. Our new home has a very odd layout, and I wasn't sure how to place furniture in it. Kathy was fantastic and spent a great deal of time with us. She listened to what we wanted and showed us many options that would work, until she found the one we liked. She even pulled up some pictures on her phone of a layout that she had suggested, so I could visualize it. When we weren't sure if the pieces we had picked out would fit and wanted to go home and measure, she did not try to pressure us to buy on the spot. We went back the following evening and had to start all over, because what we thought would work, didn't. Again she was very patient with us and even stayed after the store closed while we figured out what would work. My only complaint is that because while the stores are all open to each other and have the same owner, they are separate businesses. Because of this, Kathy is not able to help us when we go back to shop for dining room furniture. In my opinion, this is a big miss. We trust Kathy and I value her opinion. My salesman was, Ross. He took the time to describe each piece and not like a lot of salesmen, looking for profits. You can definitely recognize his passion in sales and the products!
