I have gone through a lot of attorneys in the last decade due to endless vexatious litigation and harassment by an ex-wife. I must say that this team was one of the most incompetent and the most unethical of all. They demanded $8000 upfront. They participated in two brief online hearings and one telephone call with opposing counsel, reviewed some documents and participated in a handful of calls and email exchanges with me. Somehow they burned through the $8000 and claimed that I owed them over $1200 more. Then they wanted another $8000 to keep attempting to schedule a negotiation with opposing counsel, which they claimed to be doing nearly a month prior with no success. I could have represented myself and gotten a much better result in all that time. These people cause unnecessary stress, don't return calls, don't return emails, don't keep promises and then get really nasty when you question their unfair billing - even when you received little to no value for what you paid. Scott Clark is a snakeoil salesman who reads a script claiming he's going to take care of you. Cynthia Weichelt has the personality of a chef salad and never follows through with anything. I honestly don't know how she stays employed, except for the fact that she colludes with the two owners to bill unnecessary hours and keep the coffers full thanks to ignorant clients. Unfortunately, the immoral and unethical behavior exhibited by this group is the norm among family law attorneys in Los Angeles. I would even go as far to say the courts support it and that they have each other's backs. If I were you, I would find an individual or small team that gets things done and doesn't nickel and dime you. There are some attorneys who actuallyhave a passion for their craft and want to help clients versus these folks who seem to be in it to plan their next vacation or car purchase. You've been warned. (And don't fall for the lies below - this guy promised not to nickel and dime me and to solve my problems but it was all an act.) I have no criminal, no drug, no abuse nor any kind of record and I'm a Firefighter and US Marine! Everytime they would ask for more only saying my retainer was low and that they were on the brink of major changes. What a joke. Scott would eventually call and even say, I promise I won't change you another cent until we make some progress than you'll get a million phone calls from his office demanding payment to move forward. PLEASE GO ELSEWHERE, you will be given nothing but false promises and complete garbage representation! I could of done better myself. Reviewing all of my court documentation, they were complete cut and paste from someone else case. Had my daughters referred to "him" and "his" when I had two daughters being represented. Maricela Lambe took full advantage of me, seeing how vulnerable I was during this divorce process, They saw me only as a money bag to be taken full advantage of! I had to start logging all my calls and emails as they will completely Nickle and Dime your retainer, charging me for phone calls and emails I never made. It took me a long time to even be able to write this as the depth of being taken advatnage of just to make money, time wasted to help my x-fosterson, the multiple lies and minimalization of his story that I spent a ridiculous amount of time trying to get them to keep to truth with information and not change my words to make the infomation inaccurate, to not minimize the abuse he has undergone, to reach out to witnesses in a timely matter, hold themselves accountable for their actual work compared to what they charged as "work", etc. honestly traumatized me. I wasted 9 months dealing with this firm and really wanted to believe they would care and work quickly as they promised to try to help this child. Instead they dragged it on and on. I did most of the work. It got to the point I kept saying, "please just copy and paste what I wrote" . But no, they kept over and over adjusting things to basically create crap as I explained above and kept charging me for this. I hired them in hopes the power of a lawyer would get some needed attention to help this child. They did miniscule work but they claimed to do tons. I got more concrete help from a 1/2 hour talk with a free consult law firm later on than the multiple months of headaches and wasted time I experience with them. Then I had to spend months trying to get them to be reasonable about their charges. They got away with ripping me off thousands of dollars. I don't know honestly how they can look at themselves in the mirror because at the end they kept saying, "to bad we have to talk about the bill when we are so concerned about this child and would like to see what we can do "next". If they cared, 1. They would have listened to me, not continued to waste time with their made up information, etc. 2. Not charged me for work not done which would have reduced the bill $1000's of dollars and I could have had money left to do more. Charged me for papers, and all of that was already in the courts, from me in 2001. They never even looked over my case to see where it was. Hello and good day. Im here writing this review to help you make a decision in hiring this firm. I came to this firm through a recommendation from an attorney at Edelman Courthouse. For 2 years I had been trying very hard to get my children back into my custody. Mine was a complicated case. After exhausting all the courts requirements I found myself still without my children back in my custody. I was becoming more discouraged. My court appointed attorney told me there was a good chance that I might not get custody of my children, inspite of all my efforts. I didnt understand how that could be possible. My attorney at that time said to me she had done all she could. I asked around the court for references. I asked about someone or someones that would speak up for me and my case and would not be intimidated by the court. A previous attorney I had had told me to call Fusco and Clark. I did. I scheduled a consultation and met at their office. Scott Clark explained to me what were my challenges and I told him I was prepared to do anything that was asked of me to help my case. Scott Clark in turn assured me that he'd do all that was in his legal expertise to help me reunify with my three children. He began showing up in court and I immediately noticed the respect he got from the court and those present. He spoke up for me. He assured the court that we'd be working on all issues necessary to satisfy the court further. Over the course of 10 month he communicated regularly with me and communicated with the court on my behalf. He did for me what he said he'd do. The last 2 hearings his partner Mr Fusco showed up and was just as professional as Scott Clark. Last week after 2 years and 10 months of having an open case the Honorable Judge Teresa Sullivan gave me a final judgement of Sole Legal Custody and Sole Physical Custody and closed my case.
