We arrived Saturday about 4 for a bite. We grabbed a seat by the door. Our server was friendly. We looked over the menu and decided to to start with some tequenos. We placed our app order while we kept looking for our mains. Our tequenos came out first and looked great. They were served with two sauces that were quite flavorful. We both enjoyed our appetizer. We then placed our order for a chicken salad arepa and a cachapa with picanha steak for our main meals. Our cachapa came out about 5 minutes after we ordered. It looked good, but sadly it was cold. Both the pancake and the steak were cold. It wasn't fresh and wasn't reheated properly. It was pretty disappointing. We waited another 10-15 minutes and our areap came out. Thankfully, this one was hot and prepared correctly. The flavor was good and we both enjoyed it. Overall, our first visit was a bit disappointing. Being served cold and reheated food that wasn't even warm was less than ideal. I don't see us returning.

We were not that hungry, just kinda wanted a quick light meal. We went with two full hot dogs, which we absolutely loved! We also ordered a cheese pastelito which was fully stuffed with cheese Planning to stop by next time we're in town to explore the rest of the menu

After looking at reviews on Yelp, we decided to check out Alma Llanera in St Pete. We made the drive and were welcomed when we walked in. They have a great overall selection on their menu, a variety of authentic Venezuelan dishes you can dig in to. Really, we were craving empanadas - but we are eager to try more dishes next time. We ordered three carne mechada empanadas (shredded beef hand pies), one cheese empanada, and two mora natural juices. Each orderaccompanied with a side of their house sauces that compliment the natural on-going flavors of the empanda - a creamy, white garlic sauce (salsa de ajo) and a cilantro based sauce (salsa de cilantro). The moment you sink you teeth into their empanadas, you're brought to a whole new world - A country called Venezuela! You are instantly met were explosive delicious flavors. The outter shell of the empanada has this savory, with a slight hint of sweet flavor. The inner part is stuffed with tender, satuéed shredded beef, you can taste the amazing flavors of the sofrito based meat. I would recommend anyone, someone who has yet to try this place to someone who eats empanadas on a daily basis, to come on and give them a whirl. It's a must try!

This spot, hands down, makes *the* best arepas and chapapas I've ever had. And I only say those…read moreitems because that's all I've tried here so far. Every single bite of the meal had us making "mmmm" sounds. It's the type of food spot that you crave again the next day, and the next. We found this spot while running errands in the area, and visiting another food truck nearby. It is very easy to drive past, so you need to slow down early and really look out when it's your first time trying to locate it. The truck is on a busy highway, but on your right there's a small parking lot, then building with shops, and directly following that is the entrance to the lot for Arepas donde Flor. Roughly 3-4 cars can fit. Her food is made to order, from scratch, so be patient with the wait -- or order ahead online. Although I will say, everything I've gotten here has been absolutely worth the wait. I mean, after running errands in the area I tried to come back for seconds but they were closed. P.S. Guava juice. ..........and don't forget that garlic sauce! (*mouth salivating*)

So far I've tried the Arepa Jamón y Queso, the Tostón Carne Mechada, and the Tequeños. Everything has been consistently fresh and flavorful. The shredded beef on the tostón was tender and well-seasoned, and the crispy plantain paired perfectly with it. The ham and cheese arepa is simple but really satisfying. My daughters have one request every time we come here... don't forget the tequeños! They absolutely love them, so they're now a must-order whenever we visit. One thing I wasn't expecting was how much I liked their green sauce. If you're ordering here, definitely ask for it. It has just the right amount of flavor and goes well with just about everything we ordered. The owner has always been friendly and welcoming, which makes coming back even easier. The food isn't rushed, but that's actually something I appreciate because every order we've received has come out fresh and piping hot. Even though it's a food truck, they have a covered patio with tables if you want to eat there. We've done that once, but we've also picked it up and taken it home several times. Either way, the food has been consistently good. If you're in the Ruskin or Apollo Beach area and have been wanting to try Venezuelan food, I'd definitely recommend giving this place a shot. We're already looking forward to our next visit so we can try more of the menu.

They also have lunch specials, which is nice. Cons- There is ALWAYS a weird perm smell when you go. It literally smells like someone is perming their hair, so not good. Another con is sometimes it takes long to get your food. And last but not least, I think their prices are not reasonable lately. Some of the prices do not match their menu, not sure when they raised their prices but I have never ever heard of a patacon costing almost $26 anywhere, and I frequent a lot of Venezuelan spots. Their name went from Q'Kenan restaurant to Q'Kenan Steakhouse so maybe now they just raised all the prices, I don't know. Their most expensive patacon on the menu is the one with Picańha and it says $17...yet I got charged 25.90. Regardless of how good something is, there shouldn't be a $9 difference from what is on the menu. That is absurd. On my last trip- $43 for an empanada, tequeńos and a patacon just doesn't sound right for Venezuelan food, and I come from living in Miami where restaurants are supposed to be more expensive. Add a tip and you're paying over $50 for street food. That's wild.

Ambiance: 4.5/5 Service: 4/5 Food came out at a decent time Food: 5/5 The soursop juice was delicious- it didn't seem like bottled juice! The Picanha steak was perfectly cooked and the tostones were some of the best I've had in a while! The arepas burriada was not what I expected (I've only had circular handheld arepas) but was absolutely delicious! All the components went well together and the fried thicker cuts/chunks of arepas were delicious! Price: 4.5/5 For Orlando prices, it wasn't bad at all. Usually, work takes us in that Orlando area once a year. We'll definitely be back!
