Both the pancake and the steak were cold. It wasn't fresh and wasn't reheated properly. It was pretty disappointing. We waited another 10-15 minutes and our areap came out. Thankfully, this one was hot and prepared correctly. The flavor was good and we both enjoyed it. Overall, our first visit was a bit disappointing. We found this spot while running errands in the area, and visiting another food truck nearby. It is very easy to drive past, so you need to slow down early and really look out when it's your first time trying to locate it. The truck is on a busy highway, but on your right there's a small parking lot, then building with shops, and directly following that is the entrance to the lot for Arepas donde Flor. Roughly 3-4 cars can fit. Her food is made to order, from scratch, so be patient with the wait -- or order ahead online. The shredded beef on the tostón was tender and well-seasoned, and the crispy plantain paired perfectly with it. The ham and cheese arepa is simple but really satisfying. My daughters have one request every time we come here... don't forget the tequeños! They absolutely love them, so they're now a must-order whenever we visit. One thing I wasn't expecting was how much I liked their green sauce. If you're ordering here, definitely ask for it. It has just the right amount of flavor and goes well with just about everything we ordered. The owner has always been friendly and welcoming, which makes coming back even easier. The food isn't rushed, but that's actually something I appreciate because every order we've received has come out fresh and piping hot. Even though it's a food truck, they have a covered patio with tables if you want to eat there. We've done that once, but we've also picked it up and taken it home several times. Cons- There is ALWAYS a weird perm smell when you go. It literally smells like someone is perming their hair, so not good. Another con is sometimes it takes long to get your food. And last but not least, I think their prices are not reasonable lately. Some of the prices do not match their menu, not sure when they raised their prices but I have never ever heard of a patacon costing almost $26 anywhere, and I frequent a lot of Venezuelan spots. Their name went from Q'Kenan restaurant to Q'Kenan Steakhouse so maybe now they just raised all the prices, I don't know. Their most expensive patacon on the menu is the one with Picańha and it says $17...yet I got charged 25.90. Regardless of how good something is, there shouldn't be a $9 difference from what is on the menu. That is absurd. On my last trip- $43 for an empanada, tequeńos and a patacon just doesn't sound right for Venezuelan food, and I come from living in Miami where restaurants are supposed to be more expensive. Add a tip and you're paying over $50 for street food. That's wild.
