I hope your system never needs a warranty service. impossible to get a human on the phone and wait…read moretimes are apparently 10-12 weeks once someone deems it worth it to respond to emails. there goes this year's peak production. you might be better going somewhere else.

But in January we noticed that one of the panels wasn't producing. We contacted Sunbug's service department, who did some remote diagnostics and hypothesized that the issue was caused by a faulty optimizer. They said it would be a few weeks before they could visit to perform the service, so we anticipated seeing them in February or March. After 6 weeks of radio silence, we followed up and were told they had us scheduled for April 14. The day the service was scheduled, we were informed that another job was taking too long and they would have to reschedule for the following week. After a few more weeks of silence, we followed up again. This inquiry was ignored, so 10 days later we followed up again. This time they said there was no update -- they were just too busy to do the work or provide updates. I had asked if they could recommend a partner that might have more capacity to service and was told no but that I was welcome to shop around. I am sure demand for solar is very high and qualified technicians are hard to come by, but I can't think of another situation that has taken approximately 6 months (and counting) to resolve after an initial estimate of "weeks." And the lack of information and tone of annoyance at my monthly inquiries has been discouraging. I wish I could still recommend Sunbug, but I would caution that, at least as of this review, they seem overwhelmed and out of ideas for adding service capacity or communicating accurately about their ability to service their systems. Having operated a business during periods of peak demand and service disruptions, I can't overstate the value of proactive communication about the cause of an issue, the plan for improving the situation, and guidance about what to expect when. Silence and "Sorry, no update, feel free to look elsewhere," do not inspire confidence. We are actively seeking help from other service providers, but it looks like we are going to be stuck with a non-producing panel during the peak production season.

From the very beginning, with initial outreach, to the installation, to the system start-up, and to follow up requests, everything was AMAZING. First off, the initial consultation and discussion of the possibilities was exactly how every experience should be. There was no pressure whatsoever, and everything was explained clearly. The representative was super knowledgeable, and responded to all questions quickly. I had a quote within a day of the visit, and phone calls/e-mails with questions were answered promptly. From a price perspective, Great Sky was extremely competitive, something that I honestly did not expect based on everything the company offered. Once the contract was signed, GSS did a fantastic job working with me and the banks, Eversource, and MassSave to make the paperwork process a breeze. During the installation, I continued to be impressed by the GSS folks. Everyone showed up on time, were respectful of my property, and cleaned up at the end as if they were never there- Something that is relatively rare when it comes to construction crews. When I unfortunately did run into issues with my PV system (nothing related to anything GSS did), they were just as impressive with assisting in getting a resolution each time. They communicated with the appropriate parties, including equipment manufacturers, and the State reporting agency, and got my system back up quickly. Overall, I have not one bad thing to say about Great Sky, and it is the only company I recommend to friends and family when they tell me they are considered installing solar panels. Good them a call, you will be glad you did!

The company talks about being invested in the customer experience, and they do everything they can to make things as transparent and seamless as possible. They manage every step of a complicated process that includes design details, permitting, dealing with the electric utility and lots of paperwork. Their products are top of the line and their prices are very competitive (after having researched 5 other companies). We are so happy with our 16-panel array and very enthusiastically recommend Great Sky Solar.

However, the lowest price vendor had aweful ratings and very poor BBB reviews. I'm happy with RevoluSun's price. I had a Zoom sales meeting in late February and the panel was turned on in July. A large reason for the five-month delay was town and power company inspections. I was told these delays are expected ahead of time, so no surprise. The steps involved included getting aerial surveillance, plans for the job, checking roof stability, electricians, and as mentioned before inspections, inspections, inspections, and more inspections. The actual installation was done in two mornings, clean and without any issues. I only have the highest regard for the RevoluSun people involved. Pros: Work was done without any problems. My first electrical bill was $5, the next two were around $20. Not $250. I believe them when they said the panels should be paid off in 6 years. I believe my total cost (after tax rebates) will be about $10,000. Cons: I reviewed the contract very carefully and found a number of flaws (e.g., missing guarantee for the panels' life, some damage exclusions made no sense). I'm no lawyer, but it pays to read the 'fine' print. They approved my revisions. The final visit and review of the app was originally scheduled as a Zoom meeting. There were enough details (e.g., what the 3 indoor and 2 outdoor switches do - and what I need to do in an emergency, the app showing electrical savings, review of the power company's 3 most recent bills) that I strongly suggest it be a person-to-person meeting. The project manager sent four emails trying to get it to be a Zoom meeting. I was able to get a vice president to explain the system. A very, very good 1-to-1 meeting.

From the start he came with detailed information, a very well thought out proposal and clear pricing. All that, and he didn't have the typically pushy approach. I think they know that the work they put into the proposal does the heavy lifting. If you're looking for pros to take care of your advanced installation, this is the team. I had them install a SPAN smart panel and two SolarEdge batteries in my system and everything runs great! The team was responsive and communicative throughout the entire process, and always quick to chase down any answers to my very specific questions. They handled all the incentive and connected solutions paperwork and I'm confident they'll continue to support their product into the future. 10/10 would recommend.
