Cute and quant, but can be unecessarily loud and disruptive. Frequent excessive banging noise when clearing grounds from Expresso machine up front at pickup counter. Unfortunatley also where customers are sitting close to window seating area facing Church across the street. Better employee training or protocol could fix this nicely. Also my Iced Chai tasted like it's from a mix. There's better in town. My review is based on dozens of private Coffee Shop visits I make annually across the USA in my travels. read more

I seriously love this place and most of the staff, but I have really conflicting feelings. If the staff working knows what they're doing, your coffee will be good. Depending on what staff is working also determines your wait time. Tracy and Paige are absolute pleasures of humans, but even the best staff can lead to a thirty minute drive thru time. Today, we waited an hour for two drinks and a muffin. Again, I love it here, have studied here, know the staff well and wouldn't go anywhere else in Murray for coffee. You just sometimes get a messed up order, a messed up drink, or an infuriating wait time. Very cute atmosphere and reasonable prices for drinks. Food is pretty expensive. read more

I love this local coffee shop in Murray! We decided to go in to order instead of using the drive through. The barista working was great, she suggested a Christmas latte. The atmosphere and decor is nice typical coffee shop feel - we ordered a Caramel Mocha, iced Latte, and a Cappuccino. I wish that I could say they were great as I had high expectations but sadly all 3 of us were disappointed. First the latte tasted like water so much so that I had to have it remade and was advised that in all iced drinks they use "totti" I believe is what they called it .. which was a diluted coffee that was in a pitcher from the back and not espresso which is commonly used in a Latte.. so when I expressed that it tasted like water I was told that I need to request the hot shots which are the espresso shots.. okay.. so the caramel mocha was the same story tasted like water and cappuccino same story.. we were all very disappointed and ended up going to another shop to order our coffees .. :-( read more

Way better than Starbucks by far. Full of love and positivity, Future Grounds has been the best coffee place to me in Murray. If you are wanting to try something new, the staff is very knowledgeable and does not disappoint. Here's a tip if you usually have Starbucks and are wanting to try Future Grounds. Frosted Coffees are like less icy Frappuccinos, literally amazing and come in almost every flavor. The Tea is very flavorful, especially the Chai. Caramel Macchiato? Delicious. 5 Stars because yea you may have to wait a little bit during a rush, but the quality is outstanding, the staff is friendly and funny, and i've never been disappointed in the 3 years I've been coming here. read more

Friendly staff and great cup of coffee. Rodger has a latte and I had the caramel macchiato. Both week-made and a good start to our trip home. They also offered a sample of the coffee I took home with me. It was a generous sample and gave me a good idea of the coffee we will be enjoying this week. Wish we had gone by earlier in the week. I went here tonight with my best friend. It was my second time at Future Grounds. My first time I was meeting my friend for a mini business meeting. I ordered a small, hot chai tea latte. It was pretty good, but not as flavorful as expected for what I paid. The staff was super nice, though. The coffee shop itself on the inside is very warm and inviting and I could really see myself sitting in a corner on my laptop writing. Tonight we chose the drive thru option. My best friend ordered a medium caramel blended coffee. I tried the first drink and it was really good, just as I expected it would be. I was slightly more complicated and asked the barista what she recommended. She had me pull through to the window and we chatted about what kinds of coffee I typically like. I went for a medium "Zebra" per her recommendation (she was super sweet and helpful). I believe it was a mocha and white chocolate coffee, not too sweet though. My drink was much more flavorful this time around and I really enjoyed it. I can't wait to stop in and try something new on my next visit! read more

NOTE: This place has recently changed its name. It now goes by Common Grounds. Other than the name on the sign, it's the same place! Hey, guess what! It's a successful, local coffee shop! This is one of the gems of Murray and it is so good that the town supports it. Even with a Dunkin' Donuts across the street, there are always in here and the coffee is always good. They are fairly limited on pastry & food, but what they do have comes from Kirchoff's in Paducah, so it is quality. The prices are fair and the service is friendly. If you are in a hurry and there are people ahead of you, you might have to wait a bit. No worries, though. If you're in hurry, you probably aren't going here anyway. read more

The coffee and environment here is amazing!!! I had a vanilla latte and a turkey and Swiss croissant both of which were very very good. My husband got a white chocolate frappe and a ham and Swiss croissant and told me that both were very good. I tried his frappe and it was good I tend to like a stronger coffee taste in my frappes but it was good. We will be going back! read more

This is the best coffee shop I have ever experienced for two reasons: 1. The staff is as friendly as it gets. It's businesses like this that have earned Murray the title of friendliest town in the South. 2. The coffee is better than Starbucks (I am a huge Starbucks fan, so this is really saying something). The quality of their coffee and special beverages is way above standard. One of the best parts? It's actually affordable, which as a college student, I can appreciate. read more

Well its a nice little place and service was decent but its not really the specialty coffee shop i was looking for... Just not my style of coffee i guess.. All coffee seemed quite dark and over roasted for my taste.. One of the best cafes in Murray. I like the ambience of it - shelf of books, friendly staff, perfect amount of light and that turns you to set your mood for good if you are feeling down. A must visit place if you stay nearby. I visited this place many times with my friends but if you are having a date this place is a good choice.
