I was in town for work. Stopped in this morning to pick up donuts for clients over in Mayfield. It was very busy, but I did get waited on quickly. I ordered a dozen Glazed and a dozen mixed donuts for my clients. I grabbed an Orange Juice and a Large Spicy Sausage Cheese Kolache. It was delicious. My fiance and I took a trip to Murray, KY to visit his dad who was not doing so well and he grew up here and I had never been to the south really before and I heard SO much about Murray donuts, and we have mom and pop fonut shops out here, but the fact that these donuts are better than Dunkin' Donuts and Krispy Kreme, that says a lot. This place also has a sausage inside a sweet bread roll and then baked, it's called a kolache and it's heaven! My mouth is watering! And the owner is from here in Carlsbad, which I thought was a small world. Super amazing staff, huge steam upstairs where you can view the town as you enjoy your breakfast. They have specialty coffees and lattes. Love this place! read more

Visited from Michigan and wasn't sure what to expect. We got there on a Friday in the afternoon and there weren't many donuts left which was expected. The two donuts we had were just plain Jane donuts and they were tasty. The only thing that was bothersome was the young lady who was working the front counter-- she did not greet us, she was not talkative and did not have a smile on her face. If you are going to be the front of an establishment, it is important that you are welcoming and kind. She wasn't mean, but she was not thrilled we were there or welcoming. She was our first impression as first time customers and unfortunately she did not give a great first impression for Murray Donuts. read more

A really hard review to write, because the doughnut scene in Murray isn't very deep. A few gas stations have doughnuts, including the fantastic Salmons (back in action), or Dunkin. Salmon's doughnuts are a heavy doughy doughnut so they really are not the same as Murray Doughnuts. Murray Doughnuts are good no doubt about it, but all the other stuff just makes it a pain. Just to be fair, the glaze doughnuts are really good and almost like Krispy Kreme. The doughnuts don't hold up so don't plan on next day doughnuts. The drive through is their priority, so if you want to go in and pick out your doughnuts be prepared to wait. If you go in mid to late morning, they typically fill your doughnuts on the spot since they don't make a ton of prefilled jelly or creme doughnuts, so again be prepared to wait. They also have a ton of variety of doughnuts, but be wary of all the up-charging for anything that isn't a 'standard' doughnut. Your dozen can cost almost $20, which is way over the top for a dozen doughnuts. The hotdog in a blanket thing is just nasty - tried a couple of times and it never got better. Be prepared for a tip screen when you pay, which would be okay, but the service isn't all that great or friendly. I'll probably be back, again the limited options, but used to drive to Mayfield when they had Reds Doughnuts and have gone to Paducah - yes they are that much better. read more

My best friend wanted to grab some donuts after church last Sunday and she swore these were the best in Murray. I now, completely agree! These donuts are light and airy with just the right amount of glaze and toppings. The maple bacon is to die for! Donut holes are my favorite and these hit the spot! The donuts were super affordable. The restaurant was super clean and trendy. They offer way more than donuts, from breakfast sandwiches to coffee to smoothies! It would be a great hang out spot with friends or a good place to stick headphones in and do work! The staff was super friendly and gave quick service. Did I mention they even have a drive thru? Overall, it's a great little donut shop and I would definitely revisit in the future! read more

Plain and staff needs a bit of training. Came in for some donuts and shakes. The person making the shakes, nice, but was having difficulty as they were new. Took numerous tries and the end result was just not good. It was actually the coworker sending them back repeatedly not even us. As for the donuts, they are just plain and lacking any real flavor. Its like white bread with glaze or chocolate on top. Unfortunately I wont be giving them another try. read more

These donuts have made me a better man. After Sammons bakery let me down a few times, I thought I could never love fried bread again. Sure I'd buy cheap pastries late at night. I'd eat them. But I felt horrible about it. They meant nothing. But Murray Donuts cured my broken heart. (Not my literal heart.....it's riddled with cholesterol and bacon residue). I swear to god and all his heavenly armies that if you don't like the Maple pecan pastry....your just an evil monster. You are skeptical, I understand. So was I. Stop trying to fight.
