My experience with Combat Construction started out promising but ended up quite frustrating…read more Jesse, the owner, seemed very friendly and gave me a really reasonable bid for a new fence and short retaining wall. When they put the fence in, it looked great with the exception of one 8' section that was not even with the rest (it sat 3-4" higher than the adjacent sections with a 3-4" gap below). I asked Jesse why this had been done and ended up asking for it to be fixed, which really seemed to annoy him. There were a couple of other inconsistencies with what Jesse said he was going to do and what he actually ended up doing. For example, he had said that there would be a 9.5" grass board along the bottom of the fence, but he used a 6" one instead. He also told me that they would be applying a clear coat sealant on the fence and instead he put on a "cedar" color stain. When I asked him about the color, he also seemed to get perturbed. The fence ended up looking great, so I didn't mind that he used a stain, I just didn't understand why he specifically told me he was going to use a clear coat and then used a colored stain. I was also lucky that my neighbors, who were sharing the cost, didn't mind the changes. They then tried to install my retaining wall directly on the dirt/mud in my yard with a corrugated pipe sitting on the dirt behind it. When I told Jesse that I thought that the wall needed to be installed on a compacted rock base to be even and avoid settling and that the French drain would need to sit in rock or have a water barrier between it and the wall to function correctly, he became very upset and told me that "this job was becoming a real hassle." He argued that he had bid for a decorative retaining wall only (not what I had asked for) and that he was already losing money on my project. I found this to be really odd since he was the one that had written the bid. There was no way I was going to pay them to install the wall and French drain incorrectly, so after a heated argument, I ended up telling Jesse I would pay for the materials that they had already had delivered to my home and put the retaining wall and drain in myself. There were a couple of other sloppy workmanship issues I noticed once they had finished. They used a sprayer to apply the stain to the fence and ended up spraying onto my house siding. They didn't replace the corner posts at the back of my property, so there are still old, rotten posts holding up the new fence at the corners. They also left quite a mess when hauling away the old fence, including dropping nails in my driveway and my neighbor's. A few of the boards they installed have since warped or split, causing two so far to detach after only a little over a month. Combat Construction offers a warranty on the fence, but I have opted to fix the problems myself rather than deal with Jesse again. It was really disappointing that they were trying to cut corners on my project and that Jesse apparently felt it was unreasonable for me to question him. The crew doing the work for Jesse were really friendly and professional and the fence ended up looking fantastic for the most part. Based on the deviations between what was communicated to me and what was actually done, as well as Jesse's attitude when asked to do the work correctly, I would not hire them again or recommend them to anyone else.

We never got our rent in time and at times it would be 3 weeks late. We noticed one of our rentals was being destroyed. We requested a walk through because they hadn't done one like they are suppose to twice and year. Watson charged us for the walk through. Angela is a bully and fake. Initially, we chose Watson in August 2024 based on a family recommendation, and for the first couple of months, their service seemed satisfactory. However, when issues arose, the company--particularly Angela, the owner--completely neglected us and our tenant, leaving us in the dark and financially burdened. I urge you to read this and reconsider any involvement with this unprofessional company. Angela and her team kept us and our tenant completely uninformed, ignoring our repeated attempts to get answers. For a week straight, I called their office twice a day--every single day--for sometime weeks before receiving even a single response. This lack of communication was not only frustrating but also disrespectful to both us and our tenant. Worse, Watson Property Management deceived us and stole our money. They charged us over $700 for a cleaning fee and a maintenance issue that was never addressed. Specifically, they double-dipped by requiring us to pay a cleaning fee while falsely promising our tenant reimbursement for hiring a house cleaner, which never happened. When I demanded proof that the maintenance or cleaning services were performed, I was ignored. I have asked Angela and her company more than ten times to provide documentation or refund the $700, but they have refused to respond or take accountability. After researching Watson Property Management, I found countless negative reviews on Google that echo our experience, describing their pattern of lying, neglecting clients, and failing to honor financial obligations also always late getting our rent money from them. Had we checked these reviews sooner, we would have avoided this company entirely. I strongly encourage anyone considering Watson--whether as a tenant or an owner--to read these reviews before making a decision. Angela, if you are reading this, I hope you do the right thing and refund the $700 you charged us for services that were never provided. To our community, I cannot stress enough: avoid Watson Property Management at all costs. They will not respond to your calls or messages unless they want your money, and their business practices are unacceptable. There are far more reliable and ethical property management companies available. If you have had a similar experience with Watson, I urge you to file a complaint with the Oregon Real Estate Agency can find more information and submit a complaint . My wife and I have already taken steps to report our experience, and we encourage others to do the same to hold this company accountable.
