A friend of mine (a wine club member) brought me to the Future Perfect tasting room, and wow -- what cute spot in Los Olivos! We were greeted by Sunshine who was all smiles, who invited us to sit inside with my dog Biscuit as long as she was on a leash. The tasting room had a super pet-friendly and chill vibe, which made the whole experience feel really welcoming. The inside of the tasting room was delightful -- bright, cheerful, and full of fun gifts. There are rainbows, suns, and little touches of whimsy everywhere you look. It felt like stepping into a happy, sun-soaked daydream featuring delicious wine. The wine was fantastic, but I have to shout out the labels -- each bottle has its own fun color scheme with a sparkly sun. They're cute, creative, and totally gift-worthy. Their other wine club is fully subscribed but that's okay as I love sparkling wines the most. The tasting room manager and the wine maker are lovely people and make each visit special. We showed up with reservations. The host straight-up admitted she gave our outdoor table to a straight group. That's... a choice. Instead, we were sat inside. Then came the babies, plural, and our queer winery afternoon turned into a midday Mommy & Me. We wanted a toast to queer joy, not a lesson in how fast an inclusive vibe can vanish. We first stumbled into Future Perfect by chance one afternoon and it instantly became one of our favorite wineries in Los Olivos. I've never had a glass of wine there that I didn't like--no, love! I wish I could give you a list of my favorite, but everything is absolutely fantastic. Red wine drinker? Check! White wine drinker? Check! Bubbles only? Check! Love all wine? You're going to love this place! The winemaker, Sunshine, is her name personified. She is just a ray of light and brings the best energy to the tasting room. She's also done an amazing job hiring the best people that are friendly and knowledgeable about the wine too. The tasting room is a little small, so I highly recommend making reservations. We literally plan our day around our reservations at Future Perfect. It's totally worth it. The wines are great, the weather is almost always gorgeous in Los Olivos, and tasting room is adorable. The decor is perfect and I love all the merchandise they have there. I almost always find something new that I can't resist taking home. If you love it as much as we do, I'm sure you'll want to join the wine club too. You get first pick at the best wines that are not always available in the tasting room and 15-20% off the wines. We haven't been able to attend any of the events yet, but they look awesome! We're looking forward to checking them out soon. If you love great wines from Sta. If you're not stopping in here, what are you doing? This is my favorite place in Los Olivos. We went in December and fell in love with the tasting room and Gillian. We just went back this past weekend (3.9.25) and met two new characters, Jenae and Nicole, and fell even more in love. The champagne is to DIE for. Also, I don't like reds and I wanted to take all of their reds home, that's how good they are. Don't get me started on the merchandise, take all my money. TURN UP THE SUNSHINE! I adore this place. I was introduced to FP by a friend of mine during her 30th birthday wine tasting extravaganza. Our first stop was this gem of a tasting room where we were greeted by a bubble maker, rotating disco ball, and of course miss sunshine herself. Absolutely blown away. As a queer person, visiting small towns can sometimes be a bit uncomfortable. Not always, but most times yes. I was shocked and overwhelmed with acceptance when I saw this place. Later throughout the day I realized just how LGBTQ friendly the entire town is. No judgement, just great wine and conversation. During my original visit I took home their pride edition sparkling wine which was a cute addition to a pride party I hosted the following weekend so I had to buy it again this time around. Unfortunately, it was sold out so I instead took home a special sparkling wine which wasn't even on the menu. Exclusivity always sells me. Their gift shop is adorable with a lot of great custom pieces. I took home a card which I didn't get a pic of but it basically explained that all roads lead to wine. Duh! Highly recommend this place. Eventually, she worked at Story of Soil and recommended Holus Bolus, as I was wearing a Prince hat. Loved the rec again :-) Now she runs her own joint at Future Perfect. She is a lovely human who makes lovely wines that very much have the current tasting profile. Tonight I'm drinking get feminine version of Tempranillo that is too easy to drink with lower alcohol. Sunshine is a wonderful host and wine maker. Very friendly and attentive! She was running the place by herself and we never felt like we were not being attended to. The wine selection was great and we needed up taking home 2 bottles. The sparkling rose was really good. Not usually a sparkling wine guy but this was very pleasant and not overly bubbly. The porch pounder was dangerous with how good it was. Not a fan of rosé because of sweetness but this wasn't sweet. Really nice subtle tones and just one of my favs. The breakfast wine was really good as well. Very fruity aroma but not sweet. Not very tart just a light white wine. We ended up with a bottle of this and the porch pounder as the subtleness was too good to miss out on. Grenache- I like Grenache but this one kind of fell flat to me. It wasn't bad but I wanted more out of it. Good light body but there was depth missing to me. Overall a great little spot and amazed she's only been open for 10 months. I've found few places where I love all wines that are offered in a tasting, especially ones that include a bubbly rose, rose, and sav blanc. While visiting Los Olivos my wife and I found Future Perfect literally by accident. Having no idea what to expect, but loving the name and look of the place, we stoped in. Moving onto the wine, we started out with some breakfast wine! This is Sunshine's Sauvignon Blanc. While we aren't usually white wine people, this is an exception. An absolutely delicious bottle that I could sit on the porch and drink any day of the week. We next moved onto the Grenache and Syrah! Needless to say, they were delicious and we drank them wondering how in the hell we had never heard of this place! Bottom line, Future Perfect is a hidden gem, truly. Came here for a tasting today and was so impressed! Great spot with both indoor and outdoor seating options. Sunshine was so friendly and informative about her wines. Every single tasting was incredible! The sparkling rosé was definitely my favorite though. The front porch was a perfect place to sit and hangout. Several bottles of wine are sold out right now and the waitlist to join the wine club is pushed out to 2024- wow! Clearly a popular spot in high demand. There's also an awesome selection of items to look at and purchase inside. The rainbow label is so cute. I'm a big fan of this place! Rarely do I visit a winery or tasting room that I enjoy every.single.drop.of.wine they pour! Shockingly (and most likely) because I'm not a big fan of Burgundian wines (i.e. Pinot Noir nor Chardonnay)--which make up the majority of wines that put the Santa Ynez Valley area AVAs on the map! :X I had been told to check out Future Perfect by fellow industry folks at Blair Fox and Stolpman. The instant I saw it's colorful and brilliantly designed logo, I knew I had to make it in asap. This weekend just so happened to be the 'future perfect' time! The tasting room is housed within a cute house with a modern space and decor that is on point. It was just as perfect as the female owner/winemaker Sunshine, "Sunny" for short, who is not only talented but a fun extrovert. Our group of six sat on the front porch with local bites while Sunny provided a through introduction of her business concept and wine. She poured primarily Rhone wines including the Champagne-style method Rosé Bubbly, Grenache, Tempranillo, and two Syrahs (the first of which was interesting enough came through the nose and palate as jalapeño). All of the wines blew my expectations--though I shouldn't be shocked since she learned her trade under the mentoring of Story of Soil's somm wine maker. My partner and I ended up buying a bottle of everything she poured--so much that we can display the rainbow in our wine library with her colorful logos labels that match the wines within. The wines were all delicious, and their winemaker Sunny is lovely and such a great host. She explained the background of each wine and answered all the questions we had including how she started making her exceptional wines. We had the Sauvignon Blanc, Grenache, and Syrah, and they were memorable and spectacular. We brought home a couple of bottles including a hat with the winery's cool logo.
