I have been going to Fuzz since September. Before coming here, I used to go all the way to Mississauga to get a wax. Fuzz is great. The staff is so friendly and the establishment is super clean. The girls are all well-trained. I have the Fuzz-Fanatic package ($55 a month for 3 waxes), which is an awesome deal. I love being a member at Fuzz. Definitely give it a try. I don't write reviews just to rant about places that I don't like. But I really don't like this place. For Mother's Day I decided to treat myself to some services here and called to get an appointment. I was planning a trip to Vegas to celebrate my Wedding Anniversary the following weekend. You don't want to show up to Vegas with fuzz on your face and perfect eyebrows are a must. I've had waxing done before but a $5 job at the nail salon was not what a trip of a lifetime called for. So, I went to see the "professionals ". What a disaster! I was bleeding as I looked at myself in the mirror (just tiny pin pricks, but had to dab it off) and then after the esthetician left, I had to call her back in. She missed all my most annoying fuzz! The next day, about 18 hours later, I looked in the mirror to discover this horrible, red, angry, burn on my face. I was at an event with insufficient makeup and happened upon the other Fuzz location. They were in shock, I was in shock, and they gave me aloe. Well, the next day, I spoke to Stephanie who offered me a credit! As if I am ever going back there?!?? I had to visit the same horrible store who did this to me in order to get my full refund. They didn't offer anything other than a tiny pot of cream. Therefore, my rant on Yelp must commence. Vegas was ok, but honestly we considered cancelling the trip and taking Fuzz to court for damages and fees. I'm livid. It is not OK to mess up on this. read more

This is for the girl at the front for EXCELLENT customer service! I was in the area walking along queen when it dawned on me that I should probably deal with the problem growing under my pits for the last month (I've had laser done but still.. Ick!) So I thought, "hey, Fuzz is right there!" I knew there would be a chance that I'd be turned away because they'd be busy and I hadn't made an appointment but what the heck it doesn't hurt to try. In I go and ask if they had any one available for an underarm wax. The first girl said that I'd have to wait about an hour to which I understood and responded, "I'll just make an appointment for another day." Then the other girl (I don't know her name but she's the one with the darker hair) stopped me from leaving, said that she could probably squeeze me in and that the wait would be about 5-10 minutes. These friendly people are reasonably priced and efficient. I love being in and out in 15 minutes for my underarms. No fuss and no muss. I like the pricing structure and booking appointments on line. I had a year contract so over that time I had a few different people do the wax, the last woman who did a few of mine burnt me each time even after I mentioned it (hurt for a few days after). I found the receptionist quite unfriendly as well. I decided not to renew, maybe I'll try another location or something else completely. read more

I had a good experience at this place. Some of the other reviews mention that the staff was rude. This wasn't what I encountered. Everyone was pleasant and polite. Eh. Nothing special. The wax was ok, I just asked her to clean up my eye brows because it had been a while since my previous wax. My problem was the attitude of the service. The girl asked me where I went the last time I got my eyebrows done, it's none of her business. Then she said I should never go back there because they took off way too much hair and now she can tell that the hair will never grow back in that spot. WTF why would she said that? Maybe I never had hair that grew there in the first place? I was so shocked by her comment that I didn't even know what to say. Also, my face gets very very red after a wax so I asked if there was a cooling lotion or something she could put on my face. I don't want to walk down Queen W with red splotchy skin. She put on something that made my skin burn, it was alcohol based. I'm not an expert but I don't think that's good for the skin. It wasn't worth the price and I hate being insulted. read more

I have been coming to Fuzz on Queen for nearly a year and, contrary to some of the reviews here, I have always had fantastic, consistent service with Parul. She had me in and out within 7 minutes for my first Brazilian and, months later, it's still the same. She recalls conversations that we've had and always takes the time to pick up the talk where we left off. She's thorough in her work and is a joy. Front desk staff has also always been great with me. I went here for a Brazilian wax and was happy they were able to squeeze me in. When I arrived, I found the receptionist to be a bit cold and not very open to customers. The waxing itself was quick and was far less painful than I expected. The waxer was good about explaining what she was doing and helped me breath to reduce the pain. However, the final result wasn't stellar--there was a lot of sticky wax left behind and although free wax removal strips are at the front, I feel like the waxer should take care of this. I also had a lot of hair left over, some of which was understandable because I had recently shaved, but other hairs were definitely long enough to have been removed. Over all, it was decent, but for the price I expected a better result. read more

I had gone here previously to get my upper lip threaded, I have pretty sensitive skin so I had explained my apprehension with waxing as I didn't want any bumps on my lip afterwards. I was assured that the wax they use is very calming and contains beeswax or something so it isn't as harsh. I went this weekend for an eyebrow & upper lip wax. The lady was very nice, however I found the front staff to be incredibly rude, when I walked in, there was no greeting I was just asked if I had an appointment. After I got home from my wax, my eyebrows were so red and two completely different shapes. There was still lots of hair on one eyebrow and the other was thin. I ended up having to pluck the rest to even out. My upper lip was also a disaster and there is still plenty of hairs there that I'm continuing to pluck. It's been almost a week since I've gone and the bumps and rash is still on both my eyebrows and upper lip. A total waste of $38! I won't be going back. read more

I have been here twice. The first time, I just had my brows done, and it was okay, but the shape looked a little weird. I wasn't a huge fan, but once they're done you can't really change it, so I said it was fine. The second time I went, I had a brazilian, and it was much better. I think my waxer's name was Tasha, she was very friendly and very fast. The wax didn't hurt at all (my first professional brazilian), and it was a decent price. I'll probably go back, but I don't think I'll get a membership. I just don't get waxed that often. read more

I really really want to like Fuzz, but it's just not to be. They'll do in a pinch as they're very fast and the price really can't be beat, but that's about it. I like that you can book online, very convenient, but bookings don't mean much as walk ins still get priority if they arrived before you. I had a Brazillian done a few times and under arms done twice. The Brazillian was ok, super quick, but very painful (and I am not new to waxing) the esthetician missed lots of hairs and no tweezing. Underarms were also super fast, but I've done a better job waxing myself. Great because they're so fast (in and out in 20 minutes) and good for keeping hair in check, but not salon quality. read more

Tried my first professional wax (I've been doing it myself for years) yesterday. Booked my appt online (I went to the Annex location), it was nice and quick in and out (as it was noon on a week day). Staff was friendly, knowledgable, we talked laser hair removal for some other hair I dislike having and the whole thing was more painless than expected. I was talked through the type of wax being used, what to do afterwards, and distracted with nice chit-chat during the yanking. My skin is extremely sensitive, and I barely even broke out (1 vs the usual 5 or so when I do it myself). I would definitely go back. (plus it smells delightful in there) read more

I chose this salon because I work along Queen West and was in fairly desperate need of getting my eyebrows waxed. The receptionist (who I also think was a manager or supervisor) was very helpful explained how they do their brow shaping service got my account set up and had me in within 20 minutes, which I thought was pretty good for a walk in. When I went in to get my brows done I explained what I liked and said I trusted their discretion. While I thought she was cleaning my eyebrows up a bit before marking them to show me she had already fully shaped my left brow. I absolutely hate the shape of it but its entirely too late at this point unless I let my brows go way too thin. I tell her to do the other brow which as I'm looking at it today has a different shape. The lady doing my waxing suggested next time I bring pictures. When I went back out to the front I explained it didn't happen as it had been explained it would. The receptionist apologized dropped the price down to the service that was actually given to me and took a further discount from that as it was obvious I wasn't happy. So while I hate the waxing that was done the customer service was on point. read more

My initial thoughts walking into this wax bar was that it was inviting, clean, and it smelled really good. I was promptly greeted by the receptionist and other employees. I got a Brazilian done which I'm usually hesitant about because I'm weary about the cleanliness of establishments, but Fuzz Wax Bar was really clean. They do not double dip, estheticians use gloves, and the surface and utensils are sterilized. The only problem I had was with my service. The woman used all hard wax (something I'm not used to I usually use half hard and half soft wax). This not only took longer, but it didn't get out all the stubborn areas. When she wasn't able to rid the hairs in one go she would repeatedly apply more wax and rip at the same area causing tension and more pain. After my service there was leftover wax everywhere which I had to tell her to clean along with missed hairs. Overall I really like the place and the friendly staff - it was just my experience with the specific esthetician that wasn't great. I don't think how I was serviced exemplifies their standards, I perhaps was paired with an esthetician who did not feel like doing her, 100% best. Despite this, I would go back here again and do recommend it for those who are looking for a safe and clean wax bar. read more

I want to like this location I really do...and let me say up front my beef is not with the ladies doing the actual services. They have been professional and efficient every time. But the front of house receptionist staff?....pathetic. Customer service is non-existent. I have been going to this location off and on for about a year and half, had a membership the whole nine yards. I am done - will never step foot in this location again. The last 3x I have been to this location is has been amateur hour. This weekend I had a bikini wax booked, went for my appointment had my medium size, senior dog with me as I was taking her to the park afterwards. I arrive 5-10 min early for my appointment, walk in with one of receptionists coming back with slices of pizza for her lunch. She proceeds to eat it behind the counter w/ the 2nd receptionist (Dana) the whole time my dog is staring at them and the pizza. They are laughing and giggling while I am trying to get my dog to not stare them down. The estitican calls me for my appointment I go to walk in with my dog something I have done numerous times over the past two years and she starts to freak out. I am fairly certain she is terrified of dogs but tells me that no dogs are allowed, someone recently got fired for allowing a dog in the room, they are not sanitary yada yada. No one else is available to do the appointment with me, so I am left with tying up my dog on Queen street (which I hate to do since it is so busy and can be a bit sketchy at times). As I walk back to get my service I say to the receptionists (both of them) you two sat there watching me giggling for ten minutes and you couldn't say by the way you can't bring your dog back there, policy has changed? And fyi there is no signs to this effect anywhere in lobby. I get my service done - the girl is fast, efficient and does a good job. And walk to the front to pay, again I say to Dana (who I assure you could give a rat's ass) why didn't you two say something? She starts to tell me about how sanitary dogs are etc, to which I say that is not the point, you are the front of house YOU should be managing the arriving clientele she basically shrugs her shoulders and tells me that I should know better. Really? When I ask her name, she then tries to confirm mine telling me a wrong name - really? I just booked in with you not even 30 minutes ago, you have my services on the screen as you are about to charge me. Amateur hour start to finish. The time before this I arrived again 10 min early and waited for 30 min to be called for my service. Why you ask? Because no one told me that you have to fill out the service menu selection with your name when you arrive. Which makes no sense to me anyway when you book your services online, you should see what I have ordered and my name when I walk up to the counter and tell you my name. Meanwhile again two girls are sitting there watching me for almost an hour - but I have to walk up and go what the hell is going on here? How far behind are you guys today? They aren't - they didn't know what I was waiting for - for almost an hour. The time before that - I booked two services online back to back only to have the shop call me and change the times I booked them for. Not to convenient times for me I had to change my day around to accommodate this but I was flying away on vacation that week so I needed to get a bikini wax. Third time? Done - I am out I hear the Bloor location is better - taking my business over there. Don't waste your time here ladies - too many other places to get waxed at. read more

Needed a new wax joint and Fuzz was able to fit me in same-day for brows and Brazilian. Nadia was GREAT! Super fast, thorough and friendly- the holy trinity of waxing. The salon itself is in a great location and has a big window with bench seating that's perfect for people watching if you're into that kind of thing. It is priced on the higher end of waxing in the city but they have "memberships" for people who do multiple regular services with reduced pricing. read more

The customer service at this location is poor. Their estheticians are unskilled. Let me begin with the estheticians because that's where my experience began. 3 out of 4 waxes I had (with 3 different estheticians) at the Fuzz Queen West location were very sub-par. As in "had to stop at the drug store to buy wax strips and finish the job myself" sub par. I am not a hairy person at all, and my hair is removed very easily. It was just plain sloppy. I had one wax with Christina G and she was excellent - the outlier. After 4 or 5 months of being a "Fuzz Faithful" member, I was put on a medication by my doctor and was recommended to avoid waxing for the increased risk of removing my skin. As I'm not into risking pain/permanent scarring/infection in my lady region, I decided to heed her advice. I called the Queen West location (where I had registered) to cancel my membership and mentioned that it was because of a medication - a detail I felt I was volunteering unnecessarily as it's really none of their business, but did so thinking it would simplify questions they might have to ask if I didn't. I purposely called a few days before my membership was set to renew as I thought this would be enough time for them to process the cancellation, and didn't expect push back seeing as I told them it was for medical reasons. 10 days later, I receive an email from a manager asking me to send a picture of my medication so that she could cancel my membership. I refused to do so, as that seems like an invasion of privacy and completely unnecessary. She claimed it was because they can sometimes suspend the membership if it's for a short period. Still not sure why I had to send a photo of my meds for this to happen (?). When I explained that I would be on the medication for close to a year, she replied with "That is a very long time of no waxing". Thanks for the sensitivity, Fuzz! (Sarcasm) Fuzz - it's time to stop taking your "membership contracts" so seriously. If people no longer want to take their pants off in your locations - whether it's because they had a bad experience, health reasons, or because they just don't want to - I recommend you listen or figure out how to treat your customers better. read more

I usually go to another place to get waxed and only tried this place as I waited too long to book where I usually go. I had the "works" done. I agree with Paige, the people that work at the front are not very friendly at all. The place is clean (it's only been open a few months) but waxing the waxing was just "ok". The girl that did my waxing was obviously not very experienced as she was quite slow and I felt not very thorough when I compare her to the girl I go to all the time. The conversation was very strange, nothing "bad" but just painful (more than the wax). I must have been allergic to their wax or the lotion she put on afterwards because it was very itchy and had a burning sensation for a few days later. The prices are ok, and the concept is good. But you get what you pay for and I feel that there are better places out there. I don't know about the other girls but the girl that waxed me was very young and obviously not very experienced. I arrived in my Uber literally 2 mins late from the time I stated on the phone to which they said too bad they're closing. I went for a Brazilian there to try it out. I've been getting brazilians done for over 10 years and I have never had a worse experience. The girl I got was clearly very inexperienced (which I confirmed midway through the wax as I asked her questions about how long she's been working which was about a month). In that time, I think I must have been her first real Brazilian. She not only put scalding hot wax on me multiple times, she wouldn't wait until the wax was hardened enough to pull at it, she she would literally be pulling gooey wax which wouldn't rip out the hair but just painfully pull on it. After trying to remain patient as she continued hoping it will end well, I got to the point where I was almost in tears because everything just hurt. There were still so many hairs remaining after she was done "waxing", which she tried to tweeze (also pinching my very sensitive skin a few times doing so). I got visibly upset so she offered to get someone to finish the job, instead she came back in and said that the service will be comped. I went to the front desk and the girl told me that today's service will be comped and she's added another one to come back and try again but she's put a note on my file so I won't be booked with the same girl again when I call.. Which I thought was nice and they cared about their clients. I emailed them a week ago to confirm I still had that comp because when I logged into my file online, it didn't say I had one. They still have not even responded to my email a week later. I have to say - the reason I went to try it was because it is SLIGHTLY cheaper than Ten Spot or Sugarmoon but you definitely get what you pay for in actual services performed and customer service!!! read more

I tried Fuzz as I just moved to Toronto from New Zealand and it looked like a great place. I urgently needed a wax so I booked a Brazilian. I was taken to a room and handed a box of baby wipes to freshen up, not an individually wrapped personal hygiene wipe, shame. Then, the wax was applied as someone spreads cream cheese on a bagel. Big patches and all messy. Because I has tried a DIY wax, the therapist had to get a few hair out with tweezers, which were left all over me. When the job was done, the therapist pointed at wipes, oil to remove the patches of wax and after wax lotion so I could clean myself up. Myself. Isn't it part of their job to clean up, remove the wax and check their work? Apparently not. I did go back four weeks later for the same treatment, to give them a chance. Same deal. In and out, painful, messy. Left with red skin and a burning sensation. I just felt uncomfortable and the service and atmosphere are very impersonal. I have now tried WaxOn and that is definitely the place you should go to for great service and a painless, clean wax. Never going back to Fuzz. read more

Honestly I regret having to write such a negative review. Several months ago I had a Brazilian and half leg wax here, and it was bad enough to put me off waxing forever. My legs itched for days, but worse was that the Brazilian didn't just remove all the hair, but my skin also. It itched and burned and I couldn't touch it comfortably for over a week. This happened right before my partner and I were entering a period of long distance, so it was emotionally as well as physically distressing. I emailed Fuzz at the time to let them know so they could pass on some advice to the staff member involved, and they didn't even respond. I find this really shocking to be honest, and even though it's been awhile I still feel the need to say something to prevent this happening to other customers. read more

By far the worst Brazilian wax I've ever had. Its like they hired some random person off the street and had them do waxing. The woman serving me essentially divided my crotch into two halves, and then coated the entire left side with wax - one giant solid expanse of wax from my upper thigh to middle of my pelvis. With not only no regard for the direction of hair growth, she in fact 'swirled' the wax around, and then left it to harden for a minute or two. When she tried to pull it all off, of course most of the hair either stayed where it was or broke off rather than being pulled from the root. Of course she had to go over everything multiple times. I went here to get my eyebrow waxed spontaneously only because I saw a 50% off sign outside. Since I had not planned on this, I had my baby with me in a stroller. Rather than helping me open the door, 3 ladies standing behind the counter just watched and stared at me struggle to hold the door open so I could get the stroller in. None of them budged! One was on the phone, who just sneered at me and the other two were just standing "like deer in headlights". I requested for the wax and was served almost immediately since the place was empty. I'm not sure of the name of the lady who did my waxing but she did it fairly quick and said that's all, without even giving me a mirror to inspect her job. I was very disappointed with the service in the new east end location. I came in for facial waxing one afternoon. By that evening, my face was still bright red. The next morning I woke up with angry red marks and white pustules over the entire area that had been waxed. I called to tell them what happened and ask for some advice on how to treat my skin. That was a Saturday. The staff called and gave me treatment advice consistent with a burn. The manager called me on the Monday and wanted me to come into the shop so she could see the problem for herself. I explained that I was at work and it was three days later so my face had started to heal on its own. I asked her how many things can go wrong with a wax? I think a bad wax job only yields certain results--a burn is a burn. She was unsympathetic and treated me like I only wanted to get something free out of the deal. She ended up offering me a free wax service of my choice, but I would never go back. Bad service, bad attitude. read more

That membership is only worth it if you're getting a brazilian done every time, otherwise if you add up non-member prices for lips, eyebrows and underarms, having a membership ends up being more expensive. read more

I came here about a month ago for a full back wax. Now I don't usually go to wax bars, and I found this online and it was close by so I decided to give it a try. I told the girl that was helping me that, hoping she would educate me a bit more or be a bit more sensitive. She was nice don't get me wrong, but wasn't very sensitive to a "first" timer. For instance she assumed I knew what position I should be in, in order for her to wax easier. The wax was hot for me, but she didn't bother to ask me about the temperature. When I was done, I was checking the work done in the mirror and she came back to knock on the door and rush me to see if I was done (wasn't even 5 minutes before she left me). And when I was walking out, I felt something sticky - apparently she had accidentally stuck some wax residue on my hair while she was doing my back. I always go here to get my brows done and it's usually awesome EXCEPT THIS TIME. I have very full eyebrows and I hardly ever get them done cause I luv my big bushy brows but today I was feeling like pampering myself so I made an appointment with the "brow specialist". I told her before hand that I wanted to keep them big and full, I just wanted a bit of shaping done. She's talking to me throughout the process and she's very nice! Saying she can't wait for me to see them and that they look amazing. So after I look in the mirror and my heart sinks because not only are my eyebrows half as thin as they were to begin with....they are short. And I mean short. AND they are uneven. One is about half the length of the other. I told her this is not what I asked for and she just began to justify it by showing me that "this is infact where the brow is supposed to end....."okay. Well. Then why does it end at a completely different spot on the other side? Anyways. I look like an absolute psycho and I will most likely never go to this location again. read more

Hey! So this was my first time at Fuzz my friend recommended me the place. Prices were reasonable. The place smells so good when I first walked in, it was like a clean fresh lemon sent, staff were very friendly. I got the Brazilian and it was my first ever wax before. It was a little painful at points but the girl that was doing it was very nice and calming. Overall experience was good!! The pain is just in the moment but overall I'm super happy with the results & now I don't have to worry about shaving for weeks! read more

I was so impressed with Fuzz's new location! The staff were so friendly, welcoming me in and relieving my anxieties about getting a brazillian wax. The new location was super clean and very welcoming. I asked about the products and got recommended one for ingrown hairs that I'm excited to try out. The room where I was waxed was clean, although I did step on some old wax on the floor that stuck to my sock. My wax did take awhile, but that's only because it had been awhile since I had gone for one and my waxer was super cool about it. It was kind of weird that the wall of the private wax room did not fully reach the ceiling. It made me a little self conscious, but it was okay because no one else was there. After she was done, my waxer gave me a mirror to make sure I was happy with the job and provided me with lotion to clean up with. It was also really affordable and I didn't feel like they were pressuring me to buy anything extra like a membership or extra products. I will definitely be coming back here! read more

I have been a fuzz member for two months and started off with really liking it, but I have come to learn that they are not consistent at all with their service, it is very hit or miss! I requested a wax for my very pregnant sister and asked the receptionist to include 3 important notes to have her waxing experience go smoothly- the receptionist failed to include the notes, as I later realized upon inquiry after an unpleasant wax, and my sister is officially terrified of ever coming back here. When I later called to speak to a manager about the problem, she said it was a problem with the receptionists- did not offer a refund or even partial refund for not holding up their end of the bargain, which was to follow the notes. I can not tell you enough how long I spoke to the receptionist about including these notes, there was definitely no confusion, she simply did not put it in. The pricing they charge is not up to par with the services they give- if you expect to charge a certain amount higher than other waxing places, than I expect good service to go along with it, along with rectifying any mistakes made on your behalf.
