Finally sales manager Catherine called today, said they would take the mattress back and "fix it"! #1 my husband is very ill and facing surgery in the near future and really would not be comfortable in the guest room #2 they take your mattress and fix it? What are you supposed to do whilst they are fixing it? #3 what do you get when you fix a piece of crap? A fixed piece of crap? #3 asked to speak to Catherine's supervisor, she tells me the only person she answers to is the owner Mr. Samaras, and he's not in for a few days. I already went to a REPUTABLE mattress store and bought a purple mattress. All I want is Portland Mattress Makers to come and get their product and be honest and at least give me a portion of my money back... ie mattress guaranteed for ten years... give me back eight years back! We worked with two different associates (different departments, otherwise we would have definitely worked with the same people again) and both were helpful, but not pushy. The associates did a great job of answering questions, looking up inventory, delivery dates, and product information. They also gave us space and time to try different options, think about our decisions, etc. Both experiences were very positive and we feel like we got good deals with exceptional service. The protection plans and expected lifespan of the products were also some main reasons we ended up purchasing from Jordan's. The only difficulty we had was that there seemed to be several other "shoppers" who were just hanging out or tire-kicking, which meant we had to wait a few minutes before working with a salesperson. This wasn't a big problem, but it is a testament of the atmosphere. If you have no patience for tire-kickers or kids running around, it might not be the best furniture shopping experience for you. We were fine to put up with it, but it's definitely worth noting. For both purchases, we opted for delivery because their prices are good and it was so convenient! Each time, they arrived within the scheduled window, communicated clearly, were efficient yet took the time to explain care instructions, and were respectful of our home. With the purchase of the mattress, they even removed both the old mattress and box spring included in the delivery!

When we arrived, we were greeted by an employee who initially seemed interested in helping us. As we walked through the bedroom showrooms, we didn't immediately see what we were looking for, and the employee began trailing behind us with noticeably less engagement. Before long, she was on her phone and no longer paying attention. When I turned to ask her a question, she had disappeared entirely. We continued on our own and eventually found a set that might have worked for us, but there was no one available to assist. At that point, we decided to leave and return to one of the other furniture stores in the area. As we were walking out, we saw the same employee enthusiastically greeting another couple, while completely ignoring us. The lack of attention and follow‑through cost Jordan's a very significant sale, and unfortunately the experience was poor enough that we won't be returning. On the other hand, our experience at Furniture Superstore was the complete opposite, attentive, helpful, and professional. We purchased everything we needed there.

We came in on a Monday night and had SUCH a pleasant experience working with him to find a new mattress! He was patient, he was engaging, he listened to our concerns and was thoughtful about our budget, he was funny and fun to be around -- he was human. Sometimes working with sales people feels either really icky or really robotic, but this felt like connecting with an old pal (... over beds). We got a great bed at an exceptional deal because they were having some amazing sale where all queens were being sold at the twin prices. We also bought two fancy pillows (which have cooling technology on one side of the pillow!). The store was super clean, it was straightforward to navigate, parking was no problem. Our delivery fee/bed set-up/removal of the old mattress (all of which was *key* for us since we currently live in a tiny flat in the middle of Portland) was QUICK and way cheaper than we were expecting. Two gentleman showed up at 9am on Wednesday morning (two days after our purchase) and were out maybe twenty minutes later; there were no dings or nicks on any of our walls (again: TINY flat, very weirdly shaped), everything was cleaned up too (all the plastic and cardboard, etc.) Absolutely would recommend! I went into the Mattress Firm to see what they had. I was greeted immediately and I let the salesman know that I just wanted to know what brands they sold and whether they sold platform beds. He asked me what type of mattress I was looking for, and I said firm, since I have back problems, and I find that a firm mattress is more comfortable. The salesman proceeded to tell me that a firm mattress wasn't necessary to help my back, that we were meant to sleep on our backs, and only an adjustable bed would help me sleep. Ummm I'm old enough (at least twice the age of this salesman) to know how to sleep. I told him that he had already answered my questions, that I was on my way somewhere and thanked him. He literally begged me ("PLEASE, just do it for me, so I can show you how your sleep can be improved") to lie down on one of the beds, and began raising the head and feet, asking me - "now, isn't that comfortable??!" I had had enough and rolled myself out of the bed and tried making my way out the door as he continued to try to sell me a bed. I felt insulted, and that my time was being wasted by someone who simply wanted a commission on a higher priced item rather than providing the customer service I was seeking. For selection I would say this location has such a huge variety of everything you could imagine plus so many items you wouldn't expect! You will go in looking to buy say a pair of socks or a rug and wind up walking out with a hammer, garden hose, snacks, and who knows what else. Along with the variety you can definitely find deals that are cheaper than anywhere else. I've found you can find some of the best deals on clothing here. Some other items are just worth passing on though oppositely. Have had no major complaints service wise here at all. Friendly staff although checking out may be a bit slower at times. Despite this and the fact some items really aren't worth buying overall a great store to stop at and browse for some good deals!

The store is as organized as they can get it, with things changing over so much, they pretty much just organize by the percentage of discount (center of the store) or by the typical "department store categories" The staff seemed to be ok. Very busy and focused - on products or moving customers through the lines efficiently. They definitely were all working hard from what I could see. The parking lot is always 3/4 full.
