I had the BEST service from Cameron Berry at Appliance Warehouse. I recently purchased a new…read morewashing machine. He listened to what I was looking for and what I was not. No high pressure, just honest conversation about my options. I am very happy with my purchase and the service I received.

I have no expectations that this review will turn a light on for anyone, or change behavior, or…read moresales practices. But perhaps it will. I've been saving for a new washer/dryer for about a year now. I've had positive and good experiences with Appliance Warehouse before, so I went back. I had my sites set on a specific stacked unit but the salesman was easily able to convince me otherwise, in that, if one part blew the whole thing was lost. So it was easy to change my mind about buying the washer/dryer as separate units instead. We discussed the height of the stacked units and would that be a challenge for me. No big deal. The additional space I'd gain was worth standing on my toes. The entire process was not without commentary about "the Chinese taking American jobs, Ukrainians trying to scam us, and even his wife who apparently doesn't load the dishwasher correctly". Did he think he was in the company of someone with similar ideologies? I was here to buy appliances, not discuss the global impact of capitalism. And for the record, I believe every human, void of territorial boundaries, deserves the right to work, earn an income, and care for their families. Fast forward to delivery of goods. All went well until it was discovered the cables and hoses weren't going to be long enough given the desired placement. I had already put out $600 to move the plumbing for this renovation job, so yes, I wanted it where I wanted it. These specs should have been part of the sales process, those specific questions should have been addressed then-how big is the room, where are the outlets, where is the access point for the drain and inlet hoses? If I had known I needed something other than the standard sizes, I would have been prepared, as I had a very limited window of time for this project. I'm an expert in my own field and I did expect expert level inquiry from someone in the appliance field. My bad. Do you ever just want something to go your way? The delivery guys left (a trail of mud through my house along with a puddle of water from a dripping hose-but it's March in Maine and I can't exactly fault them for that-it's just one more mess for this overworked teacher to clean up) and advised me to just buy new stuff on Amazon. Ok. What? What do I need? What's the amperage and voltage needs? Will the warranty still be in effect? Will you be coming back to do the installation? Instead of making a phone call, I opted to go back to the store. While there, we reviewed the final fees, subtracted out removal fees, added the stacking fees and I requested additional credit, given that the units I had just bought days before, had now gone on sale. That took some of the sting away. But. I'm still left with two heavy stacked appliances in the middle of my 6' x 6' room that I now need to install, move, and level myself? Can I? Yes. Is it frustrating to me that I have to? Also yes. First world American problem? Indeed. So, my new cables and hoses will arrive next week...from China. In the meantime I guess I will be tripping over my tool boxes and other laundry room detritus until I can take a break from teaching my liberal college agenda, to finish the work a man said they'd do.

Target is a store I really try to avoid most the time for a large variety of reasons. Unfortunately…read morefor me they are a spot that carries a few things I can't find elsewhere. Besides that and a lot of the reason behind the low rating for this particular location is how much of a disaster this store looks like. Now I do suspect it's often due carelessness of customers but it's insane how often the clothing areas look like a tornado ripped through it! Also Target is yet another brand that has limited the amount of items you can have and go through self-checkout which is great to avoid people with full carts slowing the line for those with just a few items. Despite this fact though they don't always have a ton of cashier lanes open which causes back ups for those not using self-checkout. Typically a spot you are better off avoiding unless looking for something specific.

Recently though I have been a few times and the service is awful. You can't find anyone to help you and then you have to wait in line for at least 30 mins to check out and this is for self check out or for a person. It's so disorganized and it always stresses me out to go in there. I also haven't been able to find what I am looking for with the shelves being pretty empty as well. Overall I am not impressed.

Sadly, to write this review, I had to give it at least 1 star. Over a month ago I ordered 3 special…read moreorder doors through Home Depot for a total cost of just under $5,000.00. Beginning roughly a week before the original delivery date I began to get conflicting email and text messages from both HD and the carrier delivering the doors, Estes. One message indicated I could call to set up a delivery time, when I did that I was referred back to Hone Depot and was told that wasn't an option. The convoluted messages went on for days. I was to be away on a scheduled vacation during the expected delivery time. For 3 days I received messages indicating delivery would be that morning, no, oops, now in the afternoon...over and over again for 3 days-and I needed someone to be there to put the doors inside. Finally, doors were delivered, so badly damaged they couldn't be installed. Back to Home Depot to make arrangements for pick up and credit. HD has the doors, 3 days later-no sign of pending refund...ooppss, the person who was supposed to enter the refund had to leave and didn't do it. Now I am faced with paying a credit card bill of nearly $5,000 when I should have been refunded or risk paying interest on that amount. Last purchase ever from HD. sHAMEFUL SERVICE ALL AROUND

Instead, I had some long haired, short grubby looking employee walk up to me while I'm scanning items, look at my stuff and say "wow this is a mess" (about the 6 boxed items I had neatly stacked for easy scanning) and proceed to start picking up and touching my items with his dirty booger fingers. Then he promptly started commanding me to scan items I'd already scanned, once he realized that I already had, he just stood there watching over me until I finished checking out. It felt pretty awkward and kind of humiliating. When I come dressed in business attire, these kinds of employees kiss my ass, when I come dressed in relaxed clothing, I get treated like a thief; granted I'm a 6'2 240lb Marine Corp combat veteran with tattoos only visible in T-shirt's. Either way, completely unacceptable way to treat customers, I certainly felt profiled, I can't imagine how this employee treats people in work clothes like.
