Not surprisingly, this FYE is going out of business, with liquidation discounts starting at 20%. While I haven't purchased anything here in over a decade, this store has been a great place to nostalgia browse while walking off lunch from Red Robin (now closed) or Johnny Rockets (also now closed). This FYE store used to be in a different part of the mall until it relocated to its current location eight years ago. This wing of Woodbridge Center has been mostly vacant for the past year, so this has been a long time coming. Clearance inventory includes a large selection of DVDs and compact discs from the nineties as well as newer merch such as plushies, imported sodas, and Kpop Demon Hunter posters. All sales are final. Pick up something for yourself before the Black Friday rush and say goodbye to another relic of your childhood. read more

A poor man's Spencer's if there is such a thing. Originally, For Your Entertainment stores were repositories for CD's and DVD's - a mini Tower Records of sorts. Now physical media is lumbering towards extinction, replaced with novelty tees, posters and toys that all presume that I'm an alienated 12 y/o who has a fetish for no hit wonder bands and gaming-inspired celebrity. I probably was a very long time ago but my Flock of Seagulls hair gel ran out about the time that MTV stopped playing music videos. How this retail anachronism sticks around and stays current on the rent is as hard to fathom as the knock-off Sony Discman on the shelf. At least at Spencer's I can find a dusty lava lamp and a random black light poster of Slipknot or florescent mushrooms shoved in the corner but sadly no hair gel. Two stars for no reason whatsoever. read more

This store is pretty big, larger than most FYE stores I've visited. Selection is diverse too, from apparel to collectibles, and of course music & movies. But the service was pretty unfriendly. It was a weekday so maybe they were just understaffed but I had to wait 10 minutes at the register while the (seemingly new) employee went to get the manager for help. It was just me in the store during this time. Once the manager finally came out, he took his time to get to the front and even more time to actually help me. Ultimately I got done what I needed so the slow/unfriendly service isn't a huge deal but I'll probably stick to my local FYE from now on. read more

This FYE has been around for so long, and I've been coming here ever since I was younger. For those who don't know what this store is, they sell various music CDs and DVDs. Towards the back, they have vinyl records. They also sell posters and t-shirts. Of course we can't forget about their limited selection of videos games, Bluetooth accessories, headphones, and toys reflecting today's movie culture. Back in the day, I've always enjoyed coming here to browse their Dance Music section and previewing what was available. I even bought some CDs long ago too. My father did the same exact thing, in addition to buying some DVDs as well. It was always worth every minute here. Later on, they did a revamp of this place. Even though everything looked bright and modern, it looked like the size of this place has shrunk. But I guess what really matters is whether or not this store has exactly what you're looking for. At least the shelves here appeared to be very organized. I noticed that their music previewing machines are gone, but replaced by just ONE touchscreen computer. This computer allowed users to preview almost anything that they want on the system, and even create their own CDs using the songs that they liked after previewing. It would have been better if they actually installed multiple computers to lower the waiting time for others to preview what they want to hear. Whenever I use this machine, I only preview music. Recently, I noticed that the headphones for the computer are gone. This means that previewers would have to listen to the music on the speaker, which may be loud enough for other customers around you to hear. Unless you don't mind other neighboring patrons looking over to see what you're listening to, try previewing at a low volume. Due to the digital age with our Androids and iPhones, I haven't bought a music CD in a really long time! Regardless of whether or not I buy a CD in the future, I will always be a fan of this store. read more

ABSOLUTELY TERRIBLE SERVICE! I was asked to join the rewards program, and agreed because I wrongly assumed this would be free. The clerk did not once mention there would be a charge for this. Also, along with this came a magazine subscription which I stated I did not want and the clerk insisted. After choosing a magazine she failed to mention that if I did not cancel the magazine subsection separately from the FYE membership I would also be charged for that. They completely scammed me and even after canceling both subscriptions the magazine company still charged me. It was extremely difficult and frustrating having to call various numbers in order to cancel this membership, even so all those on the other line persisted I do not cancel, trying to coerce me into spending more money. Do not shop at this store with a credit card! (or perhaps in general, based on principle that they are scamming customers). I visited this store in November and made a small purchase. At that time, I was offered to join their Reward Program. The clerk explained that I would receive a magazine of my choice for a trial period, which I would incur no charges for if I canceled within the trial window. Per her instructions, I canceled the magazine at the end of the trial. Upon checking my bank statement I saw that I was charged $11.99/month since November for their Backstage Pass reward program. At NO POINT in the sign up process was I consulted about this charge or informed that I was signing up for a rewards card with a monthly fee. I even confirmed with the clerk during sign-up that it was free and it would seem she actually lied to me at the register. I called FYE's Customer Service to cancel and after being told they did not offer refunds, I had to argue my way into receiving a refund the the three months worth of charges. I am disappointed in the way FYE handled the initial sign-up, coaxing me into signing up by lying to me to get a sale/meet a quota. Needless to say, I will not be shopping here again and I strongly advise you do not, either. read more

It is best to pay with cash here. Make sure you ask about the membership so you don't get charged a monthly fee. Call the backstage pass VIP number to get a discount of $4.95 per month if you do choose to get a membership. This is easily the best store to get collectors' editions of movies, books, and apparel if you missed getting them at larger retail stores. You can get them used, but in very good condition. I have had no troublesome experience. Customer service is great. Some employees don't seem to get along with one another though. read more

DO NOT SHOP HERE I purchased a few things a few months back. At the register they use your information to scam you into signing up for their rewards program. I asked very clearly if this was a credit card or if it would cost anything and they said no. They said it was just free rewards for shopping at them. Thinking it was coupons or rewards like any store I said sure. I find out a couple months later they are continuously charging my card for some backstage pass. It's a fun store to look in but the people operating it clearly have some quota to fulfill and will act dirty to accomplish it. read more
