All the Barnes and Noble book stores are laid out approximately in the same manner. The majority of the people that frequent this establishment probably have a lot of time to kill and sit at a coffee shop to read the magazines from the shelves, that are in close range. Of course there's an in-store Starbucks. The seating upstairs is nice overlooking thearea. This is the first Barnes and Noble's store I've seen with two floors. The salespeople are very helpful.

Stopped in here to look for a book they didn't have. This bookstore is clean amd seemingly well organized. My only qualm was having to wait on line to have staff search inventory versus being able to do it at a kiosk like at some other locations - but I also realize this is good for employee retention.

It has essentially everything you'd expect from a B&Ns. The comfortable size and the Starbucks make for a good environment to read. A+ on the baby stuff too.

Mostly tolerable when parents don't bring their tantrum-prone children and when teenagers aren't loitering in their little giggle cliques. Generally speaking, businesses attached to malls get all kinds of riffraff, but the store associates will kindly remind certain Edison customers not to prop their bare feet up on the windowsills while reading. At least once a year, the escalators randomly change directions, and on occasion stop working altogether. As of late, the layout of the second floor has been prone to shifting, perhaps to accommodate the growing selection of children's toys. The in-store Starbucks cafe is likely the only reason this location is still in business, but it's operated by Barnes & Noble rather than by Starbucks, so don't expect to be able to use Starbucks gift cards or earn/redeem Starbucks Rewards™ here. And unlike standalone Starbucks, the tables are uncomfortably small and flimsy. Still, if you are endeared by the endangered establishment of the brick-and-mortar bookstore, buying a cup of joe may be the simplest way to keep this B&N from going under.

Bring paperback! Love being here! This place is like my Type of children's play, I love the books, options and most of all the free wifi at Starbucks. Very decent size store. You can find pretty much every book. The only downfall is the parking, unless you are willing to walk then you are ok ( bad idea in cold weather). In case you get lost, it's next to Cheesecake Factory.

They have beautiful hardcover versions of classics.

I can never pass up a record store even if I understand disappointment awaits within. For Your…read moreEntertainment (FYE) is almost ironic mockery considering the bare bones selection of physical media they now carry. For a minute I thought I had popped into Spirit of Halloween considering the cobwebs that covered their paltry selection of CDs. I get it, it's a dead format but it's hard to fathom why FYE is still with us as they specialize in nothing in particular. This joint makes Hot Topic look like Nordstrom. Two thin stars.

I know I'm dating myself here, but I remember a time when stores like Sam Goody, The Wiz, Suncoast…read moreand Kay Bee all stood alongside FYE locations. I admit I was more of a Suncoast guy when it came to buying media, but if there was an FYE nearby I'd stop into it for fun. When I saw the FYE signage in Menlo Park mall I definitely wanted to check it out partly out of nostalgia than anything else. Interestingly, they've dropped the acronym logo (F.Y.E., which stands for "For Your Entertainment) and it's just "FYE" now. FYE is not quite the spectacle of its predecessors. Its layout is basically a large rectangle with shelves on the outer edges and islands in the middle with the cashier counter off to the left in the middle. Its "decor" mostly relies on the various T-shirts and product package art on display throughout the store. This is not terrible, mind you. They have a wide selection of products so there's a lot to catch your eye, but I do remember their older format focusing a bit more on the decor of the store itself. To be honest, I'm kind of shocked FYE still exists (then again, I can say the same for Gamestop). In the old days it had a heavy focus on media (CDs, DVDs, VHS tapes etc.), but to adapt and survive in the modern era they have diversified. They are now more of a pop culture store including media (Blu-Rays, Vinyl etc.), toy store (action figures, Hot Wheels etc.), apparel shop (T-Shirts mostly) and even snack store (candy, chips etc.). What I have been surprised about is that over the past two years, they have begun to carry *more* product and diversify. Seriously, 3-4 years ago the store looked mostly empty, the air smelled stale and it looked like it was getting ready to close. Now it looks like a store with some life to it, and that's a good thing. Malls need more shops like this! It can't all be about over-expensive clothing and electronics. Much to my surprise, during my last two trips to this store I have found toys I have looked for at other stores like Target but never found. One was a Transformer, the other was a Hot Wheels car, so I make this a regular stop now when I'm in the mall. The staff members I've dealt with are friendly and efficient but I do feel bad for them. During both of my last visits the entire store is seemingly staffed by one person only and that's a lot to put on one person. This is a fun stop that is quite different than most stores in the mall. Definitely worth dropping by!

The store looked clean, and some areas are organized while other areas were a mess. Pricing: The prices can vary depending on what kind of item you are looking to purchase. Some items are bit overpriced for no reason at all. Items: They have all sorts of items from Funko pops, plushies, video games, hot wheels, Pokemon cards, and etc. The staff: They do not know where the items come from and say that people just sell them anything. When you ask them about selling a toy to them, they give you mixed information. One staff member said to contact them on Facebook on Tuesdays and Thursdays. Another staff member said to contact them on Instagram on Monday and Thursday. When you ask them if it would be cash or store credit they say either is fine. They also do not guarantee that your item can be sold to them even though they say that they buy anything and everything. Overall: The staff members should be knowledgeable about their store and the items they buy and sell. This store is good if you want to buy something once or twice but not all time due to the high pricing for some items.

This FYE store used to be in a different part of the mall until it relocated to its current location eight years ago. This wing of Woodbridge Center has been mostly vacant for the past year, so this has been a long time coming. I probably was a very long time ago but my Flock of Seagulls hair gel ran out about the time that MTV stopped playing music videos. How this retail anachronism sticks around and stays current on the rent is as hard to fathom as the knock-off Sony Discman on the shelf. At least at Spencer's I can find a dusty lava lamp and a random black light poster of Slipknot or florescent mushrooms shoved in the corner but sadly no hair gel. Two stars for no reason whatsoever.
