Service was fantastic. Our server tonight was Sophie, and she was friendly and attentive on a very busy night. Food was mediocre at best. I had the 8 oz filet, and it was not a great cut of meat. Seasoned okay, but I had to "saw" with my steak knife through most of it. The mashed potatoes aren't seasoned at all (not even salt) and are over-mixed, resulting in a glue-like texture. The beet hummus was good, but was an odd choice with the filet. Broccolini seasoned well, but a little greasy. Husband had chicken fried steak- way too much breading, seasoned okay, a little dry. Same issue with the mashed potatoes- unseasoned and gluey texture. Green beans were swimming in oil or butter. Really liked the atmosphere- probably won't come back for food though. read more

The food here is very solid though the menu is a bit limited. We had very good service for two breakfasts we ate here. The breakfast potatoes were the standout. The French toast was also quite good. If you're staying at the hotel purchase the breakfast voucher to save some money. There are dedicated parking spots and it's easily accessible. read more

Thought I found a nice place we'd go to when we stay/pass through Kearney. I thought the chicken parmesan would be good. Tried to order by phone--got recording "no one is available to take calls--goodbye." My husband went in and ordered for me and is was ready in the time promised. Got back to the hotel--the chicken wasn't breaded there was no cheese melted on top nor any parmesan to sprinkle on it, no roll and good thing I had other utensils as the ones provided were not adequate for the weight of the chicken or the pasta. Pasta was done nicely, sauce a little spicy but okay. It was 100 degrees outside so after an 8 hour drive we weren't going out anymore so I ate what we bought. Really thought they had yummy things to offer and was looking forward to trying other things. Will go somewhere else instead. read more

We had 2 awful meals there. We were seated for dinner, and our waitress took our order. A short time later we see the table next to us with prime rib and crab legs. No one mentioned a buffet. Our meal was awful, and my son-in-law was food poisoned!! The next morning our breakfast must of sat under a heat lamp for too long as our pancakes were crunchy and cost us over $100! All you can eat Prime Rib & Crab Leg Buffet on Friday & Saturday evenings was good. Granted we got there right at 5:00 & were seated right away. Separate area for Salad Bar & the Dessert Bar. Salad bar isn't big but we didn't want to fill up on salad. Buffet was ready to go at 5:00. Crab legs hot, as w/most places the shells get soft from warmers, still easy enough to get meat out. Prime Rib piece was large, asked for medium rare & was delicious, tender & flavorful. Vegetables & Mushroom Risotto were good, skipped the different potatoes. Perfect sized dessert portions in my opinion so you could try as many different ones as you wanted. Also a Happy Hour Special that ends at 6:00. Took advantage of the Holiday Cosmopolitan, can't remember actual name of it but was tasty. We want to go back sometime and order off the menu. Beautiful restaurant read more

We were in town visiting family from the Las Vegas area when we found this gem. It is a modern restaurant that is up to par with restaurants that we are accustomed to. We were actually staying in a hotel next door but ate there twice during our short stay. The food is well prepared and the menu is sophisticated. You won't be disappointed. The Thai ribs were excellent and so were the flatbreads. When we go back we will just book at that hotel. read more

Unfortunately, we had a very disappointing experience at the Fyre Grill. Everyone in the party had the Saturday night buffet. The waiter never refilled the glasses and only took the dirty plates away once. I'm sure he was busy with other customers. Then there was an issue with the bill. The bill came with a tip spot, total spot and signature line. I filled it out and we left. My son received a threatening call later saying we hadn't paid the bill. The billing problem was a mistake on my part but the threats were a mistake on the staff's part. I felt bad only leaving a 9+% tip but I believe the tip needs to be earned not just given. Kearney is a nice town with nice people, however, the food in this town is not good when it comes to fine dining. I'll start with the good: the brussel sprout appetizer was the best food we've had ever at this place, the drinks were good, loved the rolls, and the manager Aaron was kind and responsive. However... The bad: the service was the worst we've had in a long time. Super nice server, apparently just not having a good night (hope this was the exception rather than the rule). Our drink order took 30 min and had to be verified more than once (there was 2 of us). Our appetizer order was wrong 3 times! And the steak was still mooing when it came out of the kitchen "medium rare." So I sent it back (end up being twice) and still wasn't right- rare again and then medium well. I just want to say for fine dining in Kearney there is nothing. The worst part of our whole dining experience is that this restaurant puts on a fine dining atmosphere but does not deliver when it comes to food or service. The place is gorgeous, but is subpar when it comes to the rest. It's totally disappointing. We are fine getting bar food at a bar, but when we want a nice dinner in town there is no where to go. The only reason I gave this place a 2 star rating vs a 1 star was how understanding the manager was when he came by to check on our table. Also this was my second visit, my husband has been here many times for lunches. He's never had good food here. My first visit was also disappointing. Don't order the croquettes-they're bland. I want there to be better for Kearney because honestly it's worth the drive to another town for a good meal anymore. read more

Very nice atmosphere with a great selection of beer. We didn't have a meal just a couple of beers and the fried mozzarella appetizer. I think the mozzarella should be sliced a little thicker because the crust overpowered the cheese. But I loved that they were homemade. Will be back to try other things again. Service was good. Star deducted for bar logistics and setup. Initially inviting but had to ask for drink and food menus and the beer taps are hidden on the sides of the walls.
