Andy Roger's class on was comprehensive and informative on Virginia law, guns, and gun safety. He…read morewas very polite and a patient teacher, who happily answered all our questions. Andy emphasized safety and was kind enough to add on the Utah Concealed Permit course for those who were interested directly following the Conceal Carry Permit Class. He offered full service including fingerprinting, passport photos, and helped us fill out our applications at no extra cost to the Utah class. I appreciated having an instructor that is professional and not only knowledgeable and passionate about the subject matter, but who genuinely cares about his fellow citizens being able to defend themselves and practice their constitutional rights. I read a previous review mentioning race, and the insinuation is absurd. Eight out of ten students in the class were African American and Latino, and there were only two men in the class on that particular Saturday. Everyone was treated with inclusion, dignity, and respect. If you have any interest in taking the class, do so. It is money well spent, and you will have a great time and meet nice people.

I had a great experience with FFL. I will definitely use them again in the near future.read more

Outstanding Service at The Vault - Ask for Jack the Gunsmith…read more I had an exceptional experience at The Vault inside Maryland Small Arms Range and felt compelled to share it. I needed night vision sights installed on my pistol and first contacted a gun store in district heights, where I was quoted $60 and told it would take a day or two to complete. On a whim, I called The Vault on MLK holiday, fully expecting delays -- instead, I was pleasantly surprised. Jack, the gunsmith, not only quoted me $25 (less than half the price), but had the work completed in about 25 minutes while I waited. That level of efficiency and professionalism is rare these days. After the install, I immediately took the pistol onto the range. Both the red dot and night sights were dead-on accurate out to 15 yards. No adjustments needed. That alone speaks volumes about the quality of Jack's workmanship. Bottom line: If you need any firearm work done, ask for Jack at The Vault. You will be impressed by the pricing, turnaround time, and precision of the work. This experience reinforced why it always pays to shop around -- and I'm glad I did. Highly recommended.

This range has plenty of parking but it is almost always packed at least on Saturdays! They offer the cheapest HQL class that I have seen though at very weird times well for me. The do have a dealer section/store and I believe if you purchase a firearm out of state you can have it transferred here for pick up.

Highly highly recommended. I took the NRA Basic Pistol Shooting Course with Howard…read more I could tell in the first few minutes of the class this guy knows his stuff and he's got a passion for teaching. He's not intimidating at all, nice guy actually. No question too basic. He just wants to share as much knowledge as possible and for you to enjoy firearms as he does. The class portion is at his house, and it's totally safe. He's got a nice classroom setup with a large screen TV for the powerpoint presentation and videos. After the class portion, we all drove to a nearby shooting range. What I liked: 1) Only two of us in the class (he doesn't take more than 4). 2) He had a bunch of real pistols in class. You get to handle them, load them, dry fire them, and even choose which one you'd like to try in the range. No live ammo in class. 3) The gun range part can get kinda scary. But he's right behind you when you shoot, encouraging you. 4) At the gun range, even after the official NRA course has ended, he had us doing a few more drills where he makes the paper target approach you and you gotta fire as many rounds as you comfortably can.
