I had a great experience with Drew. I was very nervous as a non-gun-owner whose spouse decided that the world is a bit crazy right now to not be prepared. If there was going to be a firearm in my home, all I needed a very basic overview of safety procedures and essentially a "101" on how to operate. Drew didn't overwhelm me with more information than I needed and made me feel very comfortable, despite my extreme discomfort at holding a gun for the first time in my life. We reviewed how to properly store and load it. Then, after some brief instruction, he took me to the range and my first shot was a bullseye at 10 yards (we did a few more rounds that were all on the target, but even I was impressed with myself after that first shot). I hope to never have to fire a gun again for ANY reason, but feel better knowing that I understand the safest way for it to be stored and what to do, should it ever need to be used for self-defense. I appreciate that he customized the lesson and didn't look down on me for not being a gun-lover or having previous experience. Highly recommend - especially for women or other people who just need some basic instruction or safety information and don't feel comfortable joining a class with a bunch of dudes who might have political agendas. I still don't love guns and probably never will, but I feel less scared about one being in my house now after my session with Drew. read more

I am so pleased we found Drew to take us through Basics of Pistol Shooting course. He was thorough, patient, knowledgeable, safe and knew his material inside and out! I highly recommend this course, especially if you're a beginner and/or a woman. I did not realize until during the course that my own belief systems were holding me back! The class was not intimidating and it was easy to ask questions. Not only did we get through the course, to include learning how to disassemble and clean a pistol, we also passed the range test the same day and our certifications were delivered shortly afterwards. I now have the confidence to go to the NRA or any other range by myself and load and fire my weapon fearlessly. And this speaks loudly to not only Drew's mastery of the subject but his human touch in being able to pull out the best in yourself. I went on to take the follow-on practice course with Drew, which was invaluable to learning more about range rules, my own weapon, other weapons and accoutrements. I will soon be signing my two teenage sons to take his course. Drew is an awesome instructor. As a new gun owner, I first took Drew's introduction to pistols class - a great class that focused on the essentials and also included range time to practice those essentials. After my experience, I decided Drew was the man and decided to continue to train with him. He offers a package for returning students that has helped me tremendously with the fundamentals. Before, my groups were all over the place, but after the first two sessions in my training package, I could see my groups significantly improve. I highly recommend taking Drew's training package. Not only will you leave with improved skills but you will also become more confident with handling your new firearms as Drew heavily emphasizes the importance of safety. Drew is a down to earth, patient, and skilled instructor. He easily diagnoses what your issues may be and provides suggestions that ultimately fixes them. Took Drew's basic pistol class after about 20+ years of being away from active shooting. I am glad I did. From the basics of gun safety, to cleaning and basic maintenance, to safe handling and firing basics, Drew covers it all the classroom. It all comes to a head with live fire on the range and handgun qualification. Drew is patient and knowledgeable and gears his approach to each individual's skill level in the class. In my class there were full-time law enforcement, as well as those who were new to handguns to those who wanted a refresher. After the class, I signed on with Drew for one-on-one training to sharpen my skills and saw marked improvement in each session with his coaching and tips. I completed the NRA Basic CCW class with Swift Precision and it was a fantastic class! The class not only covered the basics of firearm safety and pistol shooting skills but also covered the more advanced concepts such as drawing a firearm from concealment, fixing shooting stoppages and more importantly, the mindset and legal and psychological aftermath of a shooting. The live-fire shooting qualification followed the classroom portion and it was very well organized and challenging. I have taken several hundred hours of firearms, shooting, defensive firearms classes and Swift Precision offers a top-notch class. Drew Swift is a great instructor, presents the material with authority and experience and really makes you think of the responsibility of carrying a firearm for personal protection. When I signed up for training with Drew, I had no idea how much went into the safe and proper operation of a hand gun. The classroom training focused on the basics - safety, hand gun operation, and cleaning and maintenance. When we first took that information to the shooting range, I had little confidence in my ability to accurately shoot a gun, let alone following a comprehensive and consistent safety protocol. Drew is clearly an expert marksman. But most important he was patient and focused on my learning how to shoot safely and accurately. After about 3 lessons I really started to get it and my confidence grew. Now I go to the range by myself. I've internalized safe operation and i'm actually pretty accurate. I had the pleasure recently of having a firearms lesson with Drew. I was a total novice, a true first-timer, and so first Drew instructed me on the basics of how firearms work, as well as safety in handling and operation. He is extremely knowledgeable, and very good at explaining things clearly, as well as both answering and anticipating questions. This was a review of basic pistol safety and skills for us. While a lot of the topics discussed is class were familiar, Drew reminded us of numerous things we have forgotten or not have thought about in quite awhile. He was very patient with the first time firearm owner/shooter in class. Drew quickly identifies the common errors were were making while at the range. I had a great experience with Drew! While I have had some experience with firearms in the past, I am by far no expert. In a single session, he was able to correct my stance and improve my grip (despite my long fingernails lol). After a few rounds, I was already noticing the difference and felt more comfortable. I've been shooting for 14 years and I've got to say Drew knows what he's doing. His teaching style is direct but friendly well informed and knowledgeable. Not once did I get a "know it all" vibe from him where I didn't feel comfortable asking questions. He really does get to know you and helps you feel welcomed in his classes.
