I recently had a bad experience with g&l gravel. I was purchasing a 130 lb aquamarine color stone. As I started to load it up in my car the owner came over and helped me pick it up and put it in the back of my hatchback. He tells me he wants me to grind three large stones into bird baths and deliver them to him on site at the place of business. I arrived two days later with the three large stones that I carved. One of them being the aquamarine one that I bought from them for $55 plus tax. The owner's wife tells me that there must have been a miscommunication because they don't want my bird baths. What!!! I had carved them beautifully and I delivered them They weigh approximately 400 to 500 lb.. I asked her what was going on-I was explicitly told that the owner wanted three of my bird baths.. obviously there's no communication between the husband and wife.. I had supplied many bird baths last year and the husband said we sold them all-The owner's wife tells me we had trouble selling them we still have some hanging around here.. yeah I didn't see any anywhere. I did a lot of work on the garden this fall. I bought three cubic yards of garden soil delivered. It was under $40 a yard plus the delivery fee and it was HUGE. It took me a LOT of wheelbarrow hauling to get it where it needed to be and it was amazing soil. It had composted material in it. They had several kinds of soil to choose from and the worker showed me just how big 3 years is. Turned out to be just right thanks to him showing me. Great service and nice people. I also got some much from them too. They must have at least a half dozen kinds to choose from. I highly recommend them whether you're a landscaper or just a home gardener like me. read more

They charge double the price on all bark. I asked my dad to pick up a load for me and it was $56 a yard for medium bark. Most other landscape places are $30-$35. When my dad asked about the prices the salesman was rude. Never going here again. They just like to rip customers of. read more

We ordered 2 separate truckloads of gravel. Both times, from the office to the drivers, everyone was very friendly and helpful. Quick deliveries and executed nicely. On our 2nd delivery, they accidentally forgot one yard of product due to a mishap on the paperwork. Before I even got a chance to make a call about it, the driver had already notified the office and they had already called letting us know what they could do to rectify it. In my book, that is hard to find in companies now adays. To be on top of it that well. Mind you, these 2 deliveries were our first time using this company. I have been getting my Christmas trees here for the past ten years. I don't know why I never thought to yelp review them before now! I recommend them to all my family members and now they all get their trees there as well. I have been a single mom with no truck and no family support. The staff here are BEYOND AMAZING! they give you a fresh cut and tie it onto your car for you. They're super friendly and just great people. I know it's gotta be rough working in the freezing cold and rain all day long but everyone there has the best attitudes despite the unfriendly northwest rain. Over the years they have expanded on their Christmas tree greatness! It started with having livestock to feed.... Camels and donkeys. A bucket of carrots so kids can experience feeding the camels. It's made it a destination spot my son looks forward to each year... In fact we pass the business during the summer and he goes "that's our Christmas tree place where we feed camels".... Then this year they have added a jumpy house for the kids (my sons too big now but it's still a great idea!) and a tree jiggler to jiggle the rain off your tree. It's fun to watch the rain shake off your tree (even if it's raining. It makes it more fun!) For anyone I know looking to get a tree I tell them to go here when they're looking for a tree. They have several different varieties. I usually pay between $20-40...depends on the tree I find. They have a wide selection of different Heights too. The tree I got this year was super full and had a great shape for $20. I included a picture. I know they're open all year long for the gravel and bark sides of things... I've never needed those products but if I ever did based on the last ten years of Christmas tree buying experience I would give them my business in a heart beat! Great job guys! Terrible service lots of excuses!!! We were in there yesterday had to wait while girl was on personal phone call. I say personal because they were talking about going to a game and that didnt seem work related. Then today oh we are short handed blah blah we were the only customer there at the time! This place is wonderful! My hubby and I started a raised garden last year and bought all our dirt and bark from them and the product was great. This last weekend we had 10 yards of gravel delivered and the lady that delivered it was AMAZING! She did most of the work for us when she dumped 2 even rows and covered most of the area. And she had 2 houses and a main power box to deal with. So needless to say she needs a raise! read more

Extremely disappointed. I have been using them for years before they moved locations. I showed up at 5 to get 7 yards of hog fuel, only to be turned away because it was closing time. I called in advance and asked if I was there at closing time, would I be able to get loaded, and the guy said yes. When I arrived, the guy just shook his head no at me through the glass and mouthed they were closed. It was exactly 5. When I got back in the truck, it was 5:01. I own a small business, and would bend over backwards for a customer with cash in hand. Not these guys. Not anymore. read more

I've bought probably 12 yards of bark from these folks in 1.5 yard increments. I always feel I get just a wee bit more than I paid for so I like that. The other day I called ahead to see if they had received a new batch of nugget bark (someone had bought them out the previous week). I was told they did so I drove down there only to find out they didn't. On the next visit I told the lady what happened and she compensated me with a 1/2 yard, which I felt was very fair. This is how you keep customers coming back. I'll be buying all my back and landscaping material from them. Good people. read more

DO NOT SHOP HERE I have been here 2x. I gave them a chance the first time. Poor customer service. I was trying to load up some decorative rock and asked one of the employees for some help. I was told he cannot help load when you are having to bag gravel yourself. I am not young and was paying good money for the gravel and was irritated. I figured I would try them again today. My husband and I were picking out several stepping stones and some decorative pillars ( I was pricing it out because I knew I would be spending quite a bit) When I get to the scale the rude women upped the price!!! She said she would not give me the marked price! I had several pieces that were different pricing per pound and she wanted to up all the prices to ABOVE WHAT THEY WERE MARKED. Big rip off, horrible service. I usually like to make purchases with the smaller stores and not the big box stores but I am done with this shady establishment. So dissapointed because it is close to the house and I am trying to do some major landscaping changes. read more

I can't speak to the quality of their services, but I recently had my windshield damaged because of gravel falling off the top of one of their trucks - I contacted the company and reached a very nice young lady, but in the end, rather than fix the damage they caused, they chose to deny everything. Given the carelessness of their driver, and the fact he saw my truck get hit by gravel (the lady on the phone identified my truck from the driver's description, and they immediately pulled off the highway when he saw me getting the truck info - presumably to clean off the gravel that was falling everywhere), I'm really surprised they're willing to quibble over fixing minor damages. If they have that much trouble making things right over minor issues, I certainly wouldn't trust them with my business!! read more
