So looking for some bushes to plant and found a nice selection at this nursery. However this is where it ends. When asked if they warranty their plants, the statement was "Only if you buy our starter stuff". Who does that? I'm guessing they do! I have been all over the area and not one nursery said they did not warrant the plants for a year. And none of them said we warranty it if you buy stuff from us. What a waste of time going to this place if you want to spend money on their products to get a plant warranty. You as a nursery should warranty your plants period, and if you can't warranty them without the customer having to buy your additional products why would anyone purchase your plants. read more

Update: it's been awhile since I visited but I have to say the indoor plants here all look terrible and are very high priced. The woman at the register tried to sell me a quart of dead and useless worm casting tea for $17. Apparently she either doesn't know that all the beneficial microbes in worm casting tea die within 24-48 hours, or she does know it but thinks no one else does. I just walked out. My review went from three stars to two. The outdoor areas are beautiful. Prices are typical to other nurseries. Selection is wide. But the worm casting tea thing caused me to lose all trust in this nursery. I will never spend a cent in this store. read more

So, my mom went there to find a fruit tree to memorialize a deceased family member. The young lady that assisted her was exceedingly helpful. I dont often write reviews, and bad ones at that. It's been a while since I've been here, I came in looking for some new plants for my garden, and had a question about a recent transplant. The lady at the register was rude and very short with me, and not very helpful at all. She treated me like I was stupid when asking where the strawberries rolling her eyes and saying "they're in the fruit and vegetable section" but not pointing out the direction to look. This nursery has a really nice selection of houseplants and pottery. I didn't have a chance to go outside and see their outdoor selection, but from the road it looks nice. They have the sweetest little cat that was following us! Every nursery should have a cat in my opinion. They also had some "rare" plants in IKEA cabinets. All the plants looked pretty healthy too. If I was closer I would probably come here more often. The prices are a little steep in my opinion coming from someone who goes to nursery's often and works at one. I can't say enough good about this nursery. We hired Brett to do some very extensive landscaping in our new home, including putting in a sprinkler system. It looks absolutely amazing. The two men he has working for him were pleasant and showed up every day and worked all day without stopping. At the end of the project they cleaned all traces of mud and dirt and left the back yard pristine. read more

I visited Alpine for the first time yesterday. They are a little pricier than others in the area but all their plants looked to be in great condition so it made me feel like I'm paying for quality. They have a great selection of a number of unique plants. Their green house is packed but organized and every row had a selection of amazing plants. Customer service was beyond amazing. The ladies were super nice and made every customer feel seen. I bought some herbs and vegetable starts for my garden and I'm excited to see how they do. read more

This is the first nursery I've visited in Washington, since our move from Michigan. I have NEVER felt less than a person before entering this establishment. I was pretty much there to get a money tree for my wife. She had to go down the road to catch AT&T signal, so she could activate our debit card. I was roaming around the grounds, looking out for some white sage, lavender, and forget me nots. The first incident was when I asked for some help. I was pretty much looked at and it felt like they were judgmental. I suppose it might have been my attire? Who knows? Right after they answered, it seemed like they were in a "rush to walk away." I was originally going to spend quite a bit of coin today... but walked off. I am better than this to be treated like I don't matter. Furthermore, make sure you don't carry a drink with you! Their only "garbage can" for the public, is a dumpster. The ONLY reason why my wife ended up getting the money tree, was because of the scarcity of it in the area. We will NOT be returning to this business... ever! read more

I love this place! I never knew they had houseplants here until a friend told me about them. The first time I went here, I was impressed by all the unique variety of houseplants they offered that I haven't seen in many of the other nurseries I've been too, especially the begonias and Hoyas they offer. Great experience with this nursery ! I Have a long stretch of privacy bushes along the side of our property we went to Alpine in search of more bushes to continue the privacy bushes about 50 feet down the our fence line, I dealt with 2 employees and the owner of the nursery all three of which went above and beyond explaining different types of bushes and shrubs to us to find what we were looking for ! They were very knowledgeable and had no problem spending the extra time with us on a busy sunny Sunday ! I would highly recommend this nursery to anyone looking for plants shrubs or flowers!! It was a hot day when I went and I decided to check out the greenhouse of course and the owner kept checking on me and asking if I needed anything or wanted any water. I was pregnant at the time. I am new to the Spanaway area. Just drove by this nursery one day and decided to visit. It was interesting and pretty looking. But small. I was looking for a flowering plant that did well in the shade. They had exactly zero. I am accustomed to MoIbaks (Woodinville) which is quite a bit larger so perhaps I am spoiled. I got the impression they sell a lot of bark here to commercial landscapers and the home gardener is not their focus. I had to ask three employees for help before I could get assistance. Unfortunately two of them were rude. Not good customer service at all. Finally one lady suggested a fern for the spot I had in mind and recommended one. Not what I wanted but I was there and it was cheap. Looks okay. But not coming back here. read more

About 10 years ago I had these guys to install a water feature that was exactly like the one they have on their property. It was perfect and lasted for 10 year. Last summer the pump went out so I wanted to replace it, I went back to these guys to purchase a new pump, and they sold me the wrong pump size when I went back to exchange it I was told I wasn't able to exchange but would have to purchase a new one. ( 2 new pumps) once I purchase the new one it still did not work properly when I contact these guys they would continuously tell me that they would take down my information and get back to me. ( 10 times later ) no one has called, my wife called twice and no call was returned. I even went up to the nursery on three different occasions and was told we will let you know something soon, no call, no show 2 months later. Just trying to fix the proble, but not getting any help from these at all. read more

Alpine nursery is fantastic!! I'm new to Washington and found this place immediately as it's the closest to my house, and the BEST. They have an excellent selection of just about everything, but specifically their Japanese maple and fruit tree selections are to die for! They also have a wonderful selection of perennials and annuals. I just bought some chocolate mint there today and I'm obsessed. Cheri is the manager and she is extremely knowledgeable and has wonderful customer service. Bret the owner has a huge passion for what he does and it shows. I had heard great things about Alpine Nursery in the plant community so I had to check it out. Their plant selection was amazing and everything was very healthy. When I was checking out I asked about some worm tea they had on the counter because I was intrigued. The gal checking me out raved about it, told me the back story about how its a small local business (Sequim), and they use it as a foliar spray on all their plants but you can also use it to water. Of course I was sold considering the condition of all of their plants so I bought a bottle. After a few waterings using the worm tea (as directed, its a concentrate) I had new growth in at least 3 plants I had not had new growth on for over 3 months. I just went back for more yesterday, got a beautiful peperomia hope, and more worm tea for me and my mom who is hooked now too. I had to share my amazing results! The hoya in the picture was my first hoya and I knew nothing about them so I snipped off the only tendril. For at least 3 months it was healthy but never grew a tendril back and 2 weeks after using the worm tea I got two new tendrils and they keep growing! Also my two ZZ plants which are both in low-medium light conditions have multiple points of new/recent growth. Highly recommend! Plus the staff is amazingly helpful and friendly! read more
