Joe is dishonest, plain and simple. After reading this review, you will reach the same conclusion.
We asked Joe to trim the trees and shrubs in our backyard. He quoted us $1,000, explaining that it would take his team around 4 hours to do the job properly. We agreed to those terms and scheduled an appointment from the early morning to the early afternoon, which would work with our schedules.
On the day of our appointment, we called him an hour past our appointment time. He said that he would be two hours late, which was cutting it close for us, but we didn't realize how late it would become. He delayed it each time we asked. When he arrived around 4 or 5 pm, he explained that he was at a bigger job that required hours of time. But the problems didn't end there.
His guys came in to do the job. What he quoted us--4 hours--became 45 minutes. They did not finish the job. Bushes were still touching the side of our house and they left cut-up shrubbery around our yard, without picking it up. When he finished, he demanded a check before we could even look at the job. We decided to look around the place, realizing that the job was left incomplete. None of this is surprising--spending 45 minutes on a 4-hour job is not enough time to get it done.
When we showed him the spots, he admitted that his guys were "in a rush" and that he didn't supervise them. We wrote him a check, but only on the condition that he comes back in the next two weeks to clean up problems with the yard. He agreed, promising that he would take care of it in a timely fashion. We made a mistake in trusting his word, which apparently does not mean much.
He did not show up for two months. We called around every two weeks, hoping that he would have the time to come in and do the work he promised to do. He did not. We employed his services originally in May, and he didn't show up until August. By then, he realized that what he had NOT done exceeded even his expectations. He thought the trees needed a simple trim, but they needed to be cut down the way he promised the first time. So what did he do? He asked for MORE money to complete the job. By then, we had wised up and told him no. He then walked off the job a second time.
Of the few reviews online, this seems to be something of a theme. Joe promises to finish a job, knows he won't get paid extra to do so, and then he ignores it. This is true on both Angi and Google. We cannot in good conscience recommend you use his service. Stay away. read more
