Its nice for me and others who want to hit the park extra early as its open at at least 7am, while most state parks don't open till 8am. Last week I came for my third round of disc at this course. Plenty of people have told me its one of the better courses in South Florida but I have only really played Broward courses. Last time I played this course it rained the whole time so not great. But this was a fine day. Getting there about 730am beat the crowd, big time. Even after warming up putting, I was the only car in the parking lot. And away I went. Its a nice course with white and red tees. I had a nice round, and I can see why it has a good reputation. It draws a good crowd at the park at the other areas, especially the Remote control(RC) areas. Plenty of planes up in the air. Its a great park, well worth the drive out West.

There are a lot of other things available here to do. You can have a nice picnic or actually primitive camp here too with a permit. The last two years I have had appointments in the morning and were always easy and we were in and out. This year I took the picture the first week of December and it wasn't as smooth as before. When I checked in at 3:20 for our 3:30 appt, apparently everyone else had the same time slot. The line was huge! The employees were nice but the pictures felt rushed. They take 2-3 pictures but only print out one without showing you the options. We always buy the download option but this year the price went up to $20 just to get the 4x6 we didn't have the option of choosing in an online format so we opted not to buy it. While I understand the 4x6 picture is free and a cute event for the family It would have been nice to see the other options and maybe that way paying the $20 for the download would have been worth it.

All are helpful with answering any questions you have from how to set up your bow to techniques on how to hit the target properly. During the years, I have seen this club vastly improve in the maintenance, facility and target options. Also, the competitions there are really fun. There are many tournaments for the different styles of archery hosted here and there are also opportunities to represent the club and yourself at off site events. While there is no formal teaching or the availability to rent equipment here, the members are quite friendly and helpful. This is critical when you can draw from the experience of world class archers when you are starting out.
