Its nice for me and others who want to hit the park extra early as its open at at least 7am, while most state parks don't open till 8am. Last week I came for my third round of disc at this course. Plenty of people have told me its one of the better courses in South Florida but I have only really played Broward courses. Last time I played this course it rained the whole time so not great. But this was a fine day. Getting there about 730am beat the crowd, big time. Even after warming up putting, I was the only car in the parking lot. And away I went. Its a nice course with white and red tees. I had a nice round, and I can see why it has a good reputation. It draws a good crowd at the park at the other areas, especially the Remote control(RC) areas. Plenty of planes up in the air. Its a great park, well worth the drive out West.

The entry is kind of an honor system type of thing, you pay your six bucks per car and drop it in the box at the entrance. When you drive the half mile to the ranges, make sure to check in with the range master (I guess that's what you'd call him), grab your gear and get in line if it's busy. There's a pistol range, a high caliber/rifle range (you can bring your AR's, too), several shotgun bays to shoot clays, and then an expert rifle range that you have to qualify for. They do a good job here of making sure that all shooters follow the guidelines, keeping everything down range and safe when the lines are cold. They expect those not shooting to stay behind the yellow line, and all should sweep up their metal and deposit it in the bins at each range. Make sure to pencil in 2-3 hours if you want to shoot a lot, because this place is always busy. And, don't forget to be done and in your car by 4:45, because by 5:00, you'll have to spend the night (at least, that's what one of the workers warned everyone on my last visit). It's a great area, with a lot of natural wildlife around, ponds, lakes and a campground as well.

When I called they told me they would look into it and get back to me but never called or e-mailed. I finally contacted the better business bureau and submitted a complaint. They took the full time allotted by the BB to respond to the complaint, but eventually they did give me a full refund with 5 dollars extra to cover any expenses in my recovery.
