Well, I have that and more, thanks to Ryan and his terrific team. I had help drawing up some plans before I found Ryan, but in truth, I could have foregone that step and just worked with Ryan from the get-go...had I known. I knew almost immediately when I first met him that he was the one for this job. His enthusiasm for my little project won me over. And he brings that enthusiasm to work with him every day. I have never in my life worked with a contractor who was not only so much fun to work with, but also reasonably priced and so knowledgeable and artistic! All rolled into one. Ryan's crew, Ezra & Santiago are also delightful to work with. Polite, efficient, hard working. They cleaned up after themselves every day. I was given plenty of warning when there was going to be a day of excessive noise & dust. Ryan implemented my ideas, integrated some of his own ideas, wasn't afraid to let me know when my ideas weren't really workable for some reason, explained how things worked (I had serious drainage issues in my yard and he put in an amazing drainage system and sump pump...I am ready for the rain this year!) I had never planned on putting lighting in the yard, but after talking to Ryan, I decided to go for it and am so glad I did. It just completes the look and he really knows how to do it in such an elegant way. Stamped and colored concrete is an art form and Ryan's got it down! I love what he did with my patio and my front walk way. It looks like blue stone, but much more affordable. In fact, if you want the truth, I think it looks better than the blue stone edging we did. Just beautiful. Ryan is hands on in every aspect of the project. He doesn't just send in his crew and disappear. That gave me a lot of confidence. I could go on and on, but I'll just attach some photos and let them speak for themselves. I wouldn't hesitate to refer Ryan and his crew to anyone. P.S. I had to come back and edit this because I realized I forgot to mention one very important asset of Ryan's and that is that he is very detail-oriented. He literally thinks of everything, down to the smallest detail. If I had a question about some obscure aspect of the project and asked him, he had already thought of it and addressed it. We hired Felipe in January of 2013 to build a large patio and pergola for our restaurant in Sonoma…read more We had never worked with him before, but the reviews looked good. We were concerned at the start, just because it was a big project. But from the first meeting we found Felipe and his father Miguel extremely easy to work with, kind, thoughtful, quick to grasp all aspects of the project, and very hard-working. In no time, we had a schedule and a budget for the project that we thought was very fairly priced. Because this was a commercial project, we ran into frequent problems with City Hall, but despite this, Felipe kept the project on track with amazing patience, good humor, and creativeness. He was always available, always there, and always helpful. (Having dealt with other contractors, we were astounded.) His integrity is also exceptional. When a run of very hot weather came just as a concrete countertop was starting to cure, a hairline crack appeared in one countertop. I hadn't even noticed the crack. But Felipe pointed it out to me and insisted on replacing the entire countertop at his own expense so that it was absolutely perfect. That kind of honesty and integrity is priceless. In the end, we have a completed project we are absolutely thrilled with and proud of. He kept it as close to on time and on budget as humanly possible (given the difficulties with the City approval process) and we could not be happier. We will be using him again for work on our own house and would recommend him enthusiastically to family and friends.
