First and foremost I am so upset I'm crying because the Employee if that's what you want to call her Melissa K. is very unprofessional and disrespectful she actually threw my money back in my hand and actually accused my husband and I of changing the price tag on things when we told her plainly go check your camera. we would never do something like that. Me and My Cousin's were out here in Cincinnati for the Music Festival. Gabe's Dept Store was right across the way from our hotel. We wanted to shop a little before the music festival. You know the ladies loves to shop for something new. Gabe's is similar to Ross, TJ Maxx's & Marshall's. The store could of been a little more tidy. The racks were not organized and I didn't see not one salesperson on the floor. However, they did have a few cute things laying sitting around here and there. Just a basic department store that needs to be organized better and probably just needs a whole make over on this store. read more

I just visited Gabes on Beechmont Ave. Haven't been there for awhile but wanted to get new jeans. They used to have all the jeans in one place and you looked for them based on your size, now they are intermingled with everything else to find your size. After spending considerable time trying to find the size (not really knowing the size cause I had lost some weight) I found several pairs that I wanted to try on and when to the back of the store to the dressing room. The sign said the dressing room was closed so I looked for a sales person and asked how I could get in to try on the jeans and was told they don't have a dressing room any more. What department store sells clothes but you can't try them on. Won't be going to Gabes again. read more

Attendant In changing room is beyond rude. She is mean and catty. As I walked away to use one of the changing rooms she said, "I don't even know while you're trying that on. You know that's not gonna fit." I will never shop there again. read more

I don't know if I want to shop at GABE'S Again after my first visit. I was so excited to off brand name leggings control top for 7.99, off brand shoes were 16.99 & 14.99. I couldn't try anything on. Clothes rack were a nightmare to go through. Regardless, I found shoes,clothes and Jewelrpies hat I thought they would matchup with what I. Unfortunately 50% of what I bought did not work out, and the price is higher than Amazon. I kept over $100 purchases,decided to return on the same day to return other $97 of purchases. The cashi kept asked me "You want to return this too,that too." I replied yes,yes... At the end, in my head, the return amount was off; but she ignored me. She didn't pay attention if the scan worked or not. Both pairs of shoes were not rung up When I took a Quick Look. The nice gentleman took care off 16.99 pairs, Unfortunately I didn't realize she missed the pairs per 14.99. I decided to cut a loss on 14.99 plus tax,so that I don't ever return to GABE's on Harrison ave ever again.Yes, the price is cheap, it is a bit between Walmart and Target price. If you find brand name, possibly defective pieces because they didn't fit right. And you can't try on like TJX or Marshall. My first trying out, the associat does not pay attention if the scan captures the item ticket or not,make it worst, she just ignored if everything was rung up correctly when I told her that total was a bit off. Anyway, GABES on Harrison ave is not for me regardless the store was open till 10:00 PM today (Monday of the work). I don't really like to give bad reviews. But empl must not be paid well because they don't care. You can not inspect inside if you consider suitcase,as the floor associates can't open it up. You have to bring to cash register. Until my last visit to Gabes on Harrison Ave, I had always enjoyed the store. Unfortunately, I wouldnt give that store 1 penny of my money ever again. I spent 2hrs shopping for my daughters bday celebration,which was the next day and ended up leaving my items on the counter and leaving. The cashier was rude and tried 2 b insulting. Walked away from me, when I asked for a manager, he was outside smoking and the other cashier wanted 2 know why I needed a manager, it was clear at that point that I was being faced w/ racism. I was the only white person in the store, and the cashier refused 2 wait on me because I put my things on the counter without her calling me up. There is no.sign to wait to b called. I didnt see anyone else waiting 2 b called. Most stores, u stand in line,when it's your turn, u walk 2 counter. I wasnt even standing at the counter, just set my things down. The cashier didnt care that I could hear her initiall rude comment 2 another employee, and she continued 2 b rude and combative. I have never been so insulted. I am a polite person,been In customer service for a long time, and I love 2 shop, so for me to leave a store empty handed,.after 2hrs of shopping because of blatant racism from the cashiers, speaks volumes about the Gabes on Harrison Ave in Cincinnati,Ohio. A Gabes like any other. The selection is actually a bit worse than most and of course the inside is not new or super clean, but that is how the savings are passed on to you. The thing to buy here is mostly home stuff. Their home department is pretty well stocked and I found some good priced luggage here. read more

This location is one of the poorest operated Gabe's I ever visited. During it's grand opening, it was a fair store but the last five years the store has been plagued by poor customer service, rude employees, dingy floors, and awful stock. It used to be a decent store but has become so ghetto I hate stepping foot into it unless I absolutely have to. If the district manager is reading, stop hiring loud obnoxious idiots with a 5 grade education. Steer clear unless you have no alternative. read more

My wife was at the 5750 Harrison Ave Cincinnati, OH 45248 location today. She is 8 and a half months pregnant and carrying a 15 month old toddler. There were 2 carts inside and they were stuck together. She asked one of the female employees if she could help her with the stuck cart. The women looked right at her and said, "Didn't you see the carts outsides", and then walked away from her. She asked another female employee for assistance and she told her, "there are more carts outside". So much for customer service asking a extremely pregnant woman to walk outside with her toddler when they could have helped her inside. She walked outside, went to her car, and drove to target. Looks like she'll be using her remaining $300 of Christmas money there. We won't be back to this rude location. read more
