If you're looking for a professional cut, shave, or place to buy products you have now found it. I recently moved back from Kentucky and tried out a few shops that gave me a decent haircut. I had a family member recommend GAS and I also found their social media page. The page showed fantastic work, a happy staff, and a great feel within the shop. I called for an appointment letting them know I was new in town the first time and they were very helpful and patient with me. I have gone to Star now everytime and each time has been perfect. Lets begin.... You don't buy a Tesla because you want to "go green," so you don't go to GAS because you want a haircut. I came to GAS because I was tired of having a different "stylist" cut my hair and shave my face every three weeks. I did some background research, read some yelp reviews and made my way to GAS. I am thankful to have done so. GAS is not so much as a salon as it is a testament to one man's belief in the importance of proper grooming. The salon is immaculately clean, beautifully designed and completely functional. Gabriel opened early for me on a Sunday morning, to accommodate my schedule and it was the best haircut and shave I have had in three years. Gabriel took time to discuss what I was looking for in a haircut and how he could improve upon my stated desires. He took his time, stopping along the way, to make sure I liked the direction the haircut was going and that all aspects (sideburns, length, thickness, etc.) were more than satisfactory. Upon finishing the haircut, Gabriel gave me a shave that I will not soon forget. It was an incredible mixture of balms, menthols, towels and rubs that set me so at ease that I think I dozed off in the chair. I awoke to the closest, cleanest shave I have ever had. Quite simply, it was beyond my expectations. As my son and I left (at 9am on a Sunday), another Dad was coming in for a haircut and shave with his two kids in tow. A modern feel with a rustic twist all the way from the vintage shelving to the classic chairs. Gabriel is also a master of his craft. When I first visited Gabby, my normal hairdresser (my sister who happens to now work there) was sick but I had no worries visiting because I knew he is great at what he does. The haircut was flawless and the customer service impeccable. Over the past year he's added more hair stylists to cater to both men and women (Kara, Rick & Sam). Bottom line up front: I was completely satisfied with my haircut from Gabriel; an extremely professional barber. First impressions were great, from setting up my appointment until walking through those doors. Gabriel and his front desk employee were courteous and welcoming. His barbershop and the displays were well kept, and are exactly what you see in the pictures. My profession requires me to get my haircut every week, so I've seen my fair share of barbers and their shops. The haircut was on the high end when it comes to price, but I was home for the holidays and wanted to look good for a wedding I was attending. I went to see if I can get a last minute haircut. They were booked which I understand. The front desk is very nice and she offered maybe book another day. What turns me off is when I asked how much it will be to cut my bob hairstyle couple inch shorter, the price I got is $85. I have been to many hair salons, mostly in NYC. Their price range is high, normally I would spent $100-$200 for haircut but never any place charges $85 for a couple inches cut (most place is around $35). I am not asking for hair color, perm, style change nor cut 30 inches. A 2-3 inches haircut is priced $85? This is a joke. read more

This place is amazing! A hidden gem of Norwalk. If you are looking for quality and also up-to-date styles/trends, GAS is for you. I was taken care of by Star, who was welcoming from the get-go. She knows what she is doing with both clippers and scissors, something I always had a hard time finding. What a fun place!! Went with my son and our stylist was Griffin who is ADORABLE, knowledgeable and great fun to chat with as she was working on my son's hair. While we waited for our appointment we were served excellent coffee (my cappuccino had a cute little design of foam) and I played billiards for the first time! Went there for a beard trim because I was looking like I lived in the mountains in seclusion. Came out looking fresher than a pillow with a mint on it. Not only did I trust Gabriel to clean me up on he thought best, good idea btw, but he educated me on how to maintain and improve my beard with oils, cutting techniques, etc. To anyone who thinks this is expensive I would counter with you are paying for a premium experience and getting an even better result. I went here for the first time today. I will never go anywhere else while I'm in Norwalk. If you've tried the other places in town and were left wanting, try GAS. This is the highest end barber shop I've ever been in. Attention to detail is the rule and not the exception for Mr. Acosta. I've lived in Norwalk for over a year now and have been dissatisfied with a lot of the other places so finding this spot on Westport Ave. was absolutely great.
