Everyone is so nice, from the staff at the front desk to the hygienists to Dr. Lima himself, I truly feel like I have found my Dentist here in PVD. I needed a deep cleaning which would involve four different visits... They accommodated my schedule and got me in for back to back visits all completed within 2 weeks. He drilled out the filling and put a new one in. My face was numb for over a week. I called and he said this was normal. I've had fillings before and I've never been numb for more than 8 hrs or so. He scheduled me to return to have the remaining 2 cavities filled. After my terrible experience I went to Dr. Darby in East Providence who was awesome. They did a complete x-ray and determined that I did not have any cavities! Caress was going to drill and fill 2 teeth that didn't even have cavities! I've been going to Dr. Darby ever since and those 2 teeth are still fine. To add to my bad experience, Caress Dental said I never paid them $50 and put me into collections in 2007. Two years after I had my filling. I was never made aware of this since I had moved. I just discovered this after applying for a loan. Stay away from this place!

I've seen two hygienists and would return happily to either of them. They do a thorough clean and always make sure I'm up to date on X-rays. I see the dentist once a year and although I can't remember his name, he's great. I haven't been upsold on anything and it doesn't seem like they make any recommendations without actual need. The office did forget to check me in during my last appointment, so despite my being on time I was brought in 15 minutes late. Other than this annoyance it's been a great experience thus far.

I appreciated that he told me what was going on and why other dentists might say something different than his opinion. It made me feel like the decision was in my hands ultimately. Over the years I came to appreciate that reliability, and Dr. Barr was always a great professional. I should have written a five-star review a long time ago, not that the office would have needed it. The practice was sold recently to someone called Katherine Burton, who I've never seen. I have seen one of the other Dentists there, who is young and eager and seems knowledgeable. I do find the bedside manner not quite filling Dr. Barr's shoes, although I suppose that's something that comes with time. Other things have changed, too: the front desk staff, who I always liked, and I've had to trundle out to the other office in North Prov a few times because they couldn't reschedule me on South Main. None of which is a deal-killer, and I guess if I walked in the door today I wouldn't think much of it, but, I don't know, it's just the way my trust in the practice has been lowered just a bit that feels uncomfortable, somehow.

I have been back multiple times since 2021 and not once was the billing issue brought to my attention. I received multiple invoices in which I had to call my insurance to inform them of the issue since the dentist never contacted them. The woman I spoke with at the reception desk was extremely unprofessional, not listening to anything I said. I did everything in my end to inform the dentist of my new insurance and they did not do their job. I will no longer be going here and will tell my family who goes here to find a new place.
