Her portfolio speaks for itself on her artistry in both hair and makeup, so I want to highlight the things you can't see from pictures: Fei is an amazing communicator -- she gives her opinions and takes feedback in a way that doesn't make you feel insecure about your looks and preferences. I had a bit of anxiety around not wanting to look like a different person on my wedding day, but Fei was able to help me look/feel like myself while still being beautifully elevated. She also had techniques for all of my usual beauty issues -- in particular, I have fine hair & not much of it cut in layers (the enemy of most hairstyles) and my monolids always give me panda eyes within hours even with eye primer. But Fei managed to give me my exact inspiration picture hair and her eye makeup magic lasted all night! She captured exactly what I wanted and surprised me with her creativity in hair styling too. She took a great number of pics to share with me and asked me to think about the makeup style, types of eyelashes, etc. She could adjust anything to my taste as she is very versatile and professional in different kinds of makeup/hair styles. In the end, I decided to go with a more glamourous look with a bit more focus on. Before the wedding, Yin coordinated with me and my planner on the game plan to streamline everything and they arrived right on time to set up the makeup station and the hair station for both to go smoothly. I was really happy with my bridal look/hair (glamorous but still me) and it made me feel like a princess for my big day. The makeup stayed fresh and beautiful throughout the day and she gave me a little bit of lip color for touch-up in case it wore off. The star I gave is for Welson, who was my stylist during my first appointment. He was actually excellent and gave me a wonderful cut. I made my second appointment for him specifically 2 weeks in advance, only to get a call about 30 minutes before asking if I could come in 2 1/2 hours later than my scheduled appointment time. I had prior commitments so I had to say no, the best they could do was let me in an hour late with a different stylist. I hate to say it, but I got a fully botched haircut. My hair is about 2 inches shorter than I asked, my bangs are very thick and not at all tapered and my layers aren't blended at all. My hair was curled when I left the salon so I didn't get to see the unevenness. Pictured below is my hair once I washed it at home and didn't curl it. I believe it's possible that my stylist was a little drunk when she cut my hair, which I blame on the culture in the salon rather than one stylist alone. I really don't like posting negative reviews, but I think it's important to warn people before they make their appointment here. If you do, make it with Welson.
