Bottom line: great for a glam look while still keeping it looking fairly natural, even for Indian skin tones (which not many MUA's do in the New England area, surprisingly). Kerri did my makeup for my Indian engagement party in March of 2018. I have nothing but good things to say about her, but one thing to note is if you have a big crazy family like mine, be mindful of her personal bubble. She did mention she can get a little overwhelmed (which I appreciated the heads up on) with lots of people around, so we just went into the room next door which was a little quieter. She was WONDERFUL with communication, be it through text, email or phone call. She also really listens to what the client wants. I knew for my wedding, I didn't want to stress it and wanted to go for a professional application. I found Kerri when searching around and looked at her site. She has been doing makeup for 14 years and has a huge client base from brides to magazine covers. Her rates were competitive and better then other artists who's work didn't look as good or had a personality that wasn't for me. I reached out and got a very fast response every time. I met with Kerri a month before the wedding in her Waltham home studio for a trial. She took her time and accented my features with her professional MAC makeup. I didn't need to say much, I just let her do her thing and she would add or lessen anything at my request. With her expertise and my ideas, I felt totally comfortable..even got some tips too. We got along great and I knew I wanted her there on my big day. On the day of the wedding, she came to my bridal suite and worked along with the hair dresser and got us all done in time. I will preface this by saying I am not a girly girl. Maybe I should clarify this statement because it is only half true - I am actually a very girly girl that simply doesnt have the time to be a girly girl anymore - as a busy full time personal trainer, my days begin at 5am and involve accessorizing one of my 492843 pairs of leggings with a top knot in my hair and maybe some mascara. Thankfully my maid of honor intervened and righted the ship so to speak and another good friend suggested I contact Kerri Herlihy to do my makeup. She had worked with Kerri in the past and swore up and down what a makeup genius she is - so I called her and set up a time for a trial. I was so nervous on my way to my trial appointment - not because of the appointment itself but basically because most brides seem to have every detail planned out and here i am, the I'm idiot bride with literally no idea what to tell her I was looking for, because I didn't even know what I was looking for. I planned to basically sit in her chair and say "Do whatever you want to do to make me pretty!" and hope that she didn't think I was a total wang. All my nerves and insecurities lifted as soon as I met Kerri - I can't even explain exactly how she made me feel but I felt like she and I had been friends forever from the moment I first walked in her door - I felt comfortable and she laughed WITH me (not at me) when I admitted how embarrassed and nervous I was that she would think I was the idiot bride. We just talked and laughed while she worked her ninja makeup magic. I loved hanging out with this super fun cool chick so much that I almost forgot she was doing my makeup. Once she showed me, well, me, in her mirror, I couldn't believe how talented she was. I felt glamorous and perfect - she captured the essence of who I am and just enhanced me, without going overboard (we've all seen those brides, eek), and I still felt like ME, but a really pretty glam version of ME. Total win. And on my wedding day? It was even better. I felt calm, confident, and so lucky to have this awesome girl sharing one of the most important days in my life with me. Words can't express how great I think Kerri is and how beautiful and talented she is - any bride would be lucky to work with her. I am really happy to have Kerri on my wedding day. She did the makeup for me and my sister and both of us were really happy. I am an asian and I usually do not wear makeup. When I did the trial, Kerri let me try two looks: one more natural and one darker look. I like the darker look (smoky eyes with fake lashes) and that's what I had on my wedding day. Everyone thought the makeup was awesome. Even my mom who is usually picky was very impressed by Kerri. I also like how the photo turned out. Kerri is a rockstar! she was my knight in shining armor after several hopeless trials with other makeup artists. My case was a little complicated since my bridal outfit was red and I wanted a natural yet glamorous look that neither competed with my outfit nor made me look washed out ( a problem I've often seen in Pakistani/Indian brides). Another problem I faced with all my trials was that the makeup artist would try to overly bronze my tan skin tone with foundation much darker than my natural skin. When i met Kerri for the first time, we immediately clicked and she understood all my concerns. Our trial went very well and she gave me the perfect balance of natural /glamour. I looked like ME, just a prettier version of me. On the wedding day, she spent a good amount of time preping and perfecting my skin. She applied thin and even layers of foundation on my skin which made my skin look naturally gorgeous and kept the makeup long lasting. She did peachy lips/ cheeks and made my eyes bronzish smokey which looked lovely. A little highlighter on my cheekbones and inner corner of my eyes and my look was complete. Awful and rude 'service'. I contacted Kerri to ask about her availability for a photo shoot. As there were some items I needed to confirm with the videographer we agreed that she'd give me until the Monday night for the deposit. Then, hours before the agreed time she started to harass me for the money asking why I hadn't paid it yet and essentially cancelling the shoot. Her interactions were horribly unprofessional and rude. I would never put my photo shoot in this person's hands. Horrid. I suspect she got a better option that paid more and basically used rudeness to blow me off. Ugh. read more

I think she thought I was kidding but when I finally got engaged she was one of the first people I called just to make sure she was available.
