However, once the haircut began, the owner, Kiran, abruptly stated that adult pricing would apply (guessing due to the length of his hair). If hair length impacts pricing, that should be clearly communicated upfront--not once the client is already in the chair. We brought a reference photo of a Korean men's haircut, and Kiran mentioned that she was familiar with the style. Trusting her confidence, we allowed her to proceed. Unfortunately, the result was nothing like the photo and, more importantly, not at all what we expected. As the cut progressed, I became concerned with how much hair was being taken off, but hoped the top layer of hair that was still remaining would redeem it. That was a huge mistake. The end result was by far the worst haircut my son has ever received. I had planned to get my hair cut as well, but after seeing my son's, I decided I would never want Kiran to touch my hair. For someone who is marketed as a master stylist, the outcome was incredibly disappointing and certainly not worth the $60 we paid (she was charging $65 but I was able to use the 20% first time customer coupon to reduce the price). Frankly, I wouldn't want this haircut on my son even if it were free. Confidence in your craft is one thing, but it should be paired with careful listening, clear communication, and a willingness to double-check before making irreversible decisions. Sadly, none of that happened here. We will definitely not be returning. If I could give zero stars for this salon, I would.

I don't know why I didn't just leave. I went along with it, and after she finished she showed me my hair and it looked Terrible and uneven! I wanted to have my hair cut--she is my regular hairdresser and I always like what she does with my hair--and I was a little apprehensive about going to a hair dresser. She keeps the place very clean and she herself wears disposable plastic gloves, face mask, and eye protectors. Nothing is coming out of her! I came in with my facemask on and she took my temperature (forehead meter), then I put on a clean glove of my own to hold my face mask to my face when the ear loops had to be unlooped to cut around my ears. For extra protection there was the disposable one-use plastic sheeting she put on me. I immediately held the clean plastic sheeting to my mask, which meant I had double protection of sheeting and mask for my mouth and nose. In the end, I received an excellent, reasonably priced haircut (as usual from Maryom), and I felt as protected as one could possibly be under the present circumstances. I give Maryom my highest recommendation. She puts safety first. Only one customer at a time is allowed in; a second person is allowed if that person is part of the same family.

I had prior commitments so I had to say no, the best they could do was let me in an hour late with a different stylist. I hate to say it, but I got a fully botched haircut. My hair is about 2 inches shorter than I asked, my bangs are very thick and not at all tapered and my layers aren't blended at all. My hair was curled when I left the salon so I didn't get to see the unevenness. Pictured below is my hair once I washed it at home and didn't curl it. I believe it's possible that my stylist was a little drunk when she cut my hair, which I blame on the culture in the salon rather than one stylist alone.
